This may shock some, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Deulofeu will still be nowhere to be seen tonight...
He will be the rolling "one week away" from making his return from injury. Just waiting for Cleverley's return from injury to switch from "Autumn" to "Winter".
Clevalee muttered something about a 4 month process in terms of his injury on Sky Sports. He also said that he'd had his operation six weeks ago. That makes it December. Add on the usual 3 month 'our ******* medical team' cooling off period and it's March. Spring morelikeit.
I was a Happy Kit, because I wasn't supporting a club that represents everything that's wrong with football. And there were no stripes on The Kit
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...i-gracia-urges-patience-over-wingers-fitness/ Worrying he is still experiencing pain ? We were warned he was a bit of an injury liability by toffee9. How many games has he played now vs games missed since January ? Do we still think he will make a bigger impact for us than Richie will for Everton ?
Not that there is any need to rush him back but it’s just the usual idiocy. Ready next week. Ready next week. One week away.
I posted somewhere (maumybe this thread, think it was the injuries one though) that someone on twitter had said he was out for 10 weeks. Think people laughed at it at the time but I'd say it's been about 10 weeks since then. Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk
The former Barcelona man is one of just two Watford players unavailable for the clash with United and joins Tom Cleverley in missing out. Given past seasons this makes comforting reading, despite want to see Deulofeu play ASAP!
" we'll see if next week he will train with us, but in this moment he's not ready." So just one more week to wait until Geri's return now. Who can doubt it?
Apparently he's got some sort of fitness test on Saturday (warm up with the first team?) which will decide if he's back in full training next week.
Unable to even train still. Do we think they have any idea what's wrong with him ? Our Marquee signing of the Jan and summer windows. Is it 3 games he's played so far ??
I think he is an outstanding player and will be a valuable member of the team in the future. But would he be happy to sit on the sideline if he were fit? Would he have upset the balance and work rate of the team if he had been given a start over the last few weeks? We will never know but, assuming his injury is not too serious and reoccurring, his unfitness might actually have come at the right time! Hopefully he'll get a run out in the league cup and may be a bench place against Arsenal.
He's not fit to train yet so I doubt we will be seeing him in a first team match for another 2-3 weeks at the earliest.
Yes, you are right. If we can keep our good start going and the first 11 fit then it's not a problem I guess. I want him to be fit and in the team but, so far, we've not needed him, which is the only positive to his long lay off.
Whisper it quietly Jumbo but surely we can file the medical/injury prevention/physical recovery work into the 'so far, so good' box since the players returned for pre-season? Over 2 months now without any significant new injuries I think. The wholesale changes made in January seem to be effective so far, if we accept the second half of last season was something inherited.
I think it’s just reversion to mean in terms of injury volume. The medical team retain an air of shambolic bafflement with any given injury (Delefeou and Cleverly). When the rest of the pack are solving puzzles after being given the Alzheimer’s cure in planet of the apes, our medical team are the control chimp who has been given the placebo. They’ve just got s smaller sample size to work with at the moment. Keep everyone fit for most of the season and nail a couple of recovery times (to within a month) and I’ll revise my opinion.
Only another week or two until Geri's back! Who can doubt it? "I do not know when he will be ready,” Gracia said. "I do not know if he will be ready in three days, five days, one week or two weeks" You'd have thought the medical team might be able to give some sort of estimate, wouldn't you?
Don’t think Javi has finished his sentence with our abysmal abilities at rehabilitation. 2 weeks isn’t the cap is it?
