We retained the crown jewels (Oulare and Dje Dje) so 5 stars for me

I’m absolutely gutted that we didn’t get the striker and defender and naively still expected something exciting to happen right to the deadline and beyond. To be honest I’m glad the deadline has passed as it was ruining my ability to vaguely function through obsessively checking NewsNow and even worse these forums.

However, it hasn’t been all bad. I’m very happy with Foster,Deulofeu, Masina and Wilmot and Doucoure signing a new contract is awesome and shouldn’t be glossed over in condemning the transfer window.

Yes the happy whingers will say that these signings don’t address the key deficiencies in the squad and that you can’t hark back to the past and judge us by how far we have come. But I can’t help thinking back to the past and thinking how far we have come.

Yeah we may go down but we might not. And even if we do go down bettter to have risen and fallen than to never have risen at all as someone great once said.

    1 star only.
Masina - Is he decent? Rumour is that he lacks any real pace.
Sema - no idea at all if he is any good.
Navarro - will be ever make the first team?
Wilmot - young, a bean pole figure and has potential
Foster - a good keeper. Is he still mobile enough?
Dahberg - why did he choose Watford? He spoke to many European clubs and still selected Watford. I thought the Swedish educational system was good.
We are going down this season. Our carthorse collection of central defenders will see to that.

    Thank you.
It will be a long hard season with a very poor squad.
    Relegation awaits....

  9. Early days yet - we still have three weeks in which to offload them.

As long as no-one from the 1st team squad gets sold now, I'd say it's been a good window.

Bit unsure about having 3 right backs, but not a major issue (maybe Kiko being used further up). Happy with Foster and someone new to hopefully replace Holebas.

Deadline day signing looks a good prospect. Liking the fact we have Dahlberg, Wilmot, Quinea, Peneranda, Cucho as genuine 1st team prospects to develop. Really hope to see them all progress together, could make for an exciting team.

Best thing for me was keeping Doucoure, love watching this guy play. Plus Delefeou and Chalobah are essentially new signings due to the limited game time they had last season.
