That’s one way of looking at it. The other way is that we are signing all the players that we had when we were last relegated from the PL. Worrying times.
Ah of course they have - forgotten ! Perhaps an old link then before they signed Fab ? No need to have 2 keepers well over 30 expecting to be playing regularly.
Well maybe Gino kills kittens on his days off, how do we know? It may be best to stick with what we ‘know’ or at least understand. We understand that WFC are interested. We understand there is a WBA price of £10m. Our offer is £1m. So far, so Pozzo. We don’t have any understanding that the player is NOT for sale. No one, including WBA is saying that we have approached the player, an agent or any other forbidden activity. Why they hint at what we ‘don’t know’?
Its not in the middle of a season, a price is circulating in the press (indicating his availability), and the transfer window opens up on this coming Sunday for 5 weeks. As long as we have approached WBA rather than just his agent; it is quite different from Silva approach by Everton. I would also imagine all the WBA first team squad are likely to be available to reduce wages and to build a new approach to getting out of the Championship.
Hmmmmm, not so sure..... https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyl...-ibiza-shagfest-into-a-sex-party-9498650.html
This is not what Championship club West Brom need as they prepare for the Championship season. If we were a Championship club, the last thing we would want would be to lose a key player just before the start of the Championship. The Championship is a hard league and West Brom will need their best players to play in this season's Championship, which is where West Brom are, in the Championship. If they lose Foster they will need to target a suitable Championship level replacement for their season in the Championship.
Does anyone know the way? Did we hear someone say "We just haven't got a clue what to do!" Does anyone know the way? There's got to be a way To Ben Foster!
Ditto... "Rhys Ifans was once turned away at the door “because he looked like a tramp”. How on earth does she get through the door then? And who the hell is Rhys Ifans?
Jeez - apparently 36 in that pic?! Must be getting what she can now, because god knows what she'll look like at 50....
Does he? Where has Gomes said that? Indeed, it’s in the media now that WBA are furious with us for unsettling Foster with a bid nowhere near what we have been ‘quoted’ would be acceptable. Seems this will play out over a while and he will inevitably come. But if he does, it will be a sad end for Gomes who I think deserves a more dignified exit and to go out on his terms. Still, time waits for no man, and we can’t afford to be left behind...
I thought Gomes might be off as soon as he made 100 appearances for us on the last day of the season at United. Would be more than happy with Foster but 4 - 5 million is about right. Dahlberg to be eased in as long term GK we hope.

If Foster thinks he has the right to stay away from pre-season preparation, it seems more than likely that he has a break clause for relegation. In which case, it is not Watford that has unsettled him, but West Brom, and he is simply saying that, as agreed, he will be seeking a new club for next season, and requires the time to find that new club, which preparing for next season with West Brom will hinder and delay, whilst achieving no useful purpose. There is an unlikely scenario in which he has no break clause, but even then, as others have pointed out, for it to be a case of Sliva and Everton proportions, WBA would have to be saying that they will not sell at any price, go away. I think that second scenario is so unlikely that it can easily be dismissed.
£10m for a 35 year old keeper who was just relegated and has no resale value? Errr 90% of keepers are complete turd after about 35. You would think he has one good year left in him, two at a stretch before he reaches David James levels of latter-career calamity. £2m is the absolute most anyone should be paying, and even that is a bit rich.
Unless we ring him up on his home phone tonight behind WBAs back, agree terms and ask him to convince Craig Dawson to come with I fail to see the similarity
Why are you entertaining the idea that we might pay anywhere near £10mil for him?! All the recent reports have stated that we only bid £1mil.
I think we'll get him for about £3m-£3.5m, still way too much for someone with no resale value. If any other club go in for him, they may push it to £5m and at that point we would lose interest.
We bid £1m. They are asking £10m - £12m, that's why. While we are the only interested party we hold the cards given his refusal to travel so expect a deal sub £5m. However it will get messy if anyone else bids closer to £10m.
So WBA accuse us of 'destabilising' Foster with a, in their eyes, low offer - yet Man City are also known to be sniffing around? And the other half of the 'rebel' duo - Craig Dawson - has been the subject of bids from Burnley and West Ham, both refused but neither bringing accusations of destabilisation.
