Id sell my granny for £40 million (however she has been dead for 20years )

I would rather he stayed and played well, if we have to sell would rather he went abroad.

I loved watching him early on in the season, I do however have a nagging doubt that he goes down a little easily and may be a bit predictable in terms of marking

But one is in the "Go out on the lash, order Baileys, order 4 hookers and still fail to score" category.

If he stays I'll be happy as he's a plus for the squad even he's not playing or scoring every week.

Also be happy to get the £40m plus for him as still good business and we have other midfield options. (and Lukebakio of course...)

A 'no lose' situation in which I hope we don't find a clever way to lose

Hopefully with Geri on the other wing it will have the opposition unable to double up on Richarlison, last season he was burnt out and found out. A lot of upheaval in a young mans life too. Imagine being 20 moving to Brazil to work under a British coach only for this guy to F off after 6 month. The only compatriot left is an aging goalkeeper that wants to play foot golf all the time.

I have said it before that Richarlison is best off playing another season with us. He needs to develop further and going to a 'bigger club means he will sit on the bench most of the time. From what we saw last year he does not take kindly to that. If he puts in a stonking season they will be falling over themselves to buy him, including top European sides.

I don't think he will though - I'd bite someone's hand off for anything north of £25mil this summer, before they realise that he's not tired, just absolute pony.

PSG isn't likely to buy much of anyone. They have to sell to get round FFP sanctions. Selling Neymar will sort most of that, but they still won't be buying much. I doubt Richarlison would be too tempted at this point by Monaco. If he starts in the Prem - in even half a season he'll be worth more and can go to bigger clubs.

If so that makes Burnley, the Real Madrid.

More asset stripping by the Pozzos. First Murray, Taylor and Hodson, now Richarlison. Will it never end ?

Too many people claiming it's a done deal for it to be complete nonsense. Presumably just a matter of time now. If the price is £40m+, and so long as there aren't too many clauses, it's a good deal. Cost us £11.5m and we'll have to pay Fluminese 10% of the profit. £50m would be a robbery for a player at this stage of his development, regardless of what he becomes.

For 50m I would drive him there myself. Never worth more than 25m at the moment, and we would be robbing them blind. Had such an underwhelming season after a promising start and i won’t miss his sulking.

However as it’s the mail it’s probably ****, so i won’t go getting excited about having a nice warchest for a new defender too soon.

We should take the money and then buy a quality centre half and forward. We have too many players in wide positions so we will have to sell someone. I’d rather we kept Pereya and sold Richie.

Anything between £30m to £50m could well mean a new centre back, a forward player and possibly a direct replacement for Richarlison.

As it stands Ken Sema plays on the left and there's still Roberto Pereyra, Gerard Deulofeu, Isaac Success and Alberto 'Gunshot' Penaranda who can play wide if available.

It may also be the reason Abdoulaye Doucoure is staying if a new contract is to be offered.

Whether it's a good deal or not will just depend on what we ultimately swap him for. If its a pile of cash and a couple of cheap peripheral squad players it will be a bad deal. If we have a couple of £15m signings lined up then it could be great.

  22. King Dev

If we reinvest that 50 in a new striker and centre back it is WELL worth doing. Not sure he will ever be worth that, considering Mahrez went for 60. Richarlison is nowhere near his level right now.

Just a massive shame it had to be to them.

Not if he flops and Silva gets the sack, that would just be great fun!
I have to admit though that I think Richarlison has it in him to be great.

The glaring misses against Chelsea signalled his descent into mediocrity. My honest opinion is he was a one trick pony and the right backs figured him out.

I didn't think he was tricky or pacey and didn't scare defenders after his initial burst onto the scene.

Wobby now reporting the story, with the quote:
"The Watford Observer understands these reports are broadly accurate and we have been told a deal is close to being agreed."

    http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...reeing-big-money-richarlison-move-to-everton/

If it means we can sign an upgrade at CF, and perhaps also an upgrade at CB, then I'm not too fussed. He is a very frustrating player and Pereyra and Deulofeu are good for our starting wide spots.

Supposedly Snake was a factor in him joining us in the first place, and clearly if Snake is still a big fan then this deal makes sense. Also, as it appears likely that we want get rid of Gomes, then baby Richie won't have any more of his mentor/father figures here any more.

Supposing Rich stayed with us and had a great season, would we get much more than £50m for him? Probably not. Good business for us, risky business for Everton.

If it really is for around £50m then we can't say no, even if it is to Evertossers and Slither.

We signed Sema, Success is back and looking fit and motivated (and in my opinion has just as much potential as Richarlison), and if Penaranda does get a permit then that's another skilful, young player with little else but potential at this point that can fill the role.

£50m to invest in a quality striker and centre back in Richarlison's place and we could be laughing.

Can't imagine any of our fans would be against this, as long as the money is reinvested in the correct areas (ie a CB and up front).

We already have players just as good as him if not better in the squad anyway.

"...an official complaint being lodged with the Premier League for making an alleged illegal approach.
However, the Watford hierarchy appear to have used this to strike a deal for the player that is to their best possible advantage, if it is completed.
    "

So could this mean that factored in to the deal is an amount of money for the tapping up - finally agreed by Everton on the basis it's hidden within the transfer and not made public so that they can save face (and help to make sense of this ludicrously high fee)??

Despite the insane fee - this is only a 'great deal for Watford' if the money is reinvested properly. £50m could get us umpteen Zeegelaar's:eek:

The more I think about it, it could be amazing for us.

We have Pereyra, Sema, Success and possibly Penaranda to slot straight in, we literally don't even need Richarlison, and this takes away any excuse not to go out and strengthen the two areas we desperately need to - up front and at centre back - by giving us funds to do so.

It could do wonders for the balance of the squad.

Why is it that I'm taking it so personally that we are selling him to them?

It's only a bloody transfer of a guy who really did tail off, but I detest selling to them and I hate wanting someone to fail but I find myself hoping he does if he goes.

Reported on SSN now. Reckon this will happen. 50 mil is crazy money on a player who was good for just a handful of games imo. As others have said, if we keep Doucoure and strengthen in CB and get a goalscorer we'll be laughing.

  35. UEA_Hornet

Exactly. Every transfer out of a young player with potential to get better represents a risk when you don't have to sell. The transfer fee is how the risk is shared. In this case, if it's £40m+ I would say Everton are picking up 95% of the risk. He'd have to go on to become a world beater for them to make a profit. And I don't doubt we'd have a sell-on profit clause too so we'd still see a further slice. Think we're fortunate though. Snake is the key person in all of this - I can't see any other PL club being prepared to pay this amount.
