From what I have seen of him so far, he looks good! He looks fine! I'm so glad I made him mine. Now we'll be together nearly every single Saturday. We'll be so happy and that's how it's gonna stay, singing...
Come on Javi! You've turned round Etienne, you've turned round Sebastian, you've turned round Orestis. Diddy's had his problems in England so far. It's not been working out. With him...
Is he Chalobah’s stunt double in those encouraging but slightly blurry vids on the running machine? Btw, did anyone else note Chalobah on the Chelsea bench today?! Officially it’s his brother but looks like Abramovich sold us broken Chalobah & kept working Chalobah for himself. Fml.
Made sense at the time. I wasn't expecting Capoue to become functional again, so I doubt the transfer team had much faith in him either. He didn't get on against Chelsea or West Ham, so I wonder whether the club have told Javi they don't fancy buying him
Ndong's looking well placed to snatch the title of Most Pointless Signing Ever from Lucas Neill. Jerome Sinclair was on the bench today - given the squad we put out today, we'd have needed injuries to Deeney, Okaka, Gray and Richarlison before he got on. If Gracia would rather have a 5th choice striker on the bench than any cover for defensive midfield away at one of the bigger teams in the league, then it doesn't bode well for him playing at all this season.
I guess those 'personal reasons' were the fact that he is, as we all knew from the fact he couldn't get into the side of the bottom club in the Championship, absolute dogshit.
You nailed it. Gracia's said pretty much the same as your post but with a bit less swearing: https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...to-play-a-single-minute-for-watford-1-9058976
He’s next season’s Doucoure. Not trusted to play by this coach but will prove to be the lynch pin of our midfield under the next coach.
Hang on, ITKJim assured us all that the reason he wasn't playing was purely down to personal reasons. Are you suggesting that he was talking directly out of his fart locker? Surely not!
So, tiny brain, if he hadn't had these mysterious personal issues you believe he'd have played in that one match. I see. If a youth team player breaks his leg, is that then the reason he isn't a first team regular?
Was he not signed just as injury insurance - i.e - should none of our injured midfielders not return, or we pick up further knocks, then we have somebody to step in rather than playing others out of position? With the return of Hughes, and hopefully no more crocked players, I very much doubt we'll ever see him in the starting eleven. Getting him on loan from a desperate Sunderland means we're not stuck with him for 3 or 4 years, so I don't think it's been a terrible signing. Had none of our players returned and/or others pulled up injured, we'd be criticising the club for not bringing in cover during the transfer window.
He was their record signing so will have been trousering a decent wage, which we have no doubt been paying. I get what you're saying, but it's impossible to describe it as anything but a ******* shambles, as mentioned above. Though if he hadnt had personal problems he'd be starting every match and would be our top scorer apparently. So there's that.
File Didier Ndong under ‘Raffael Romo’ At least Samba Diakite had the decency have a game and get sent off. Ndong seems to just have threatened as much. Will be a good quiz question though. The only player to have never played for us but still have missed games through suspension.
Ndong was signed in the midst of an injury crisis in midfield, with Pererya, Cleverley, Chalobah and Hughes all out injured. An injury to Capoue or Doucoure would've left us ****ed. Signing Ndong was to provide us with some sort of cover (other than calling a youth team player up or sticking a CB in midfield) if that were to happen. Sure we're probably paying a large amount of his wage (if not all of it) but the Pozzos were simply providing options so Gracia wasn't left short. He hasn't played a minute of football because he hasn't needed to. Would it have been nice to maybe see him make an appearance from the bench? Quite possibly, but I'm not against that fact that he hasn't.
I'm with reids and jossy on this one. He was signed as injury cover, nothing more. Sometimes you need to look a little deeper folks.
Sunderland will make a huge loss on the player. Woeful financial management. Ligue 2 beckons. WBA could be doing a Sunderland next season.
What an utter burning of cash in terms of wages this was. We are short in midfield today and this guy isn’t deemed bench worthy? Horrific work from recruitment team.
Absolutely. Though I was surprised to read in a Sunderland newspaper last month that they're still picking up the tab for part of his wages.
