Player and Goal of the Season...

I think they're having a laugh really - there's not a lot to choose from for PoS, the better players having all had lengthy injury spells. I used the tried & tested pin method for that one.

Somewhat ironically six of the ten goals on offer are away goals, and, unusually, four of the ten are against Chelsea. Didn't need my pin for that.

  2. I'm struggling to think of a player of the season. Doucoure was my choice, but he's ended up as 'meh' as the rest of them.

I'm going Kiko on the basis I haven't seen a bad display from him yet.

I know I can't as he's not one of the candidates but I'd vote for Chalobah.

His injury was the start of our demise.

(although I know we won a few matches afterwards, before anybody points that out!)

Janmaat v Chelsea for goal. Not only was it a thing of beauty, but it was a highly important goal too as it gave us the lead and showed we had some spirit in fighting back after their equaliser.

I'm surprised Cleverley's winner v Arsenal didn't make the shortlist.

Of course, ironically but not surprisingly, what may yet turn out to be our most important and significant goal of the season didn't either!

GOTS- Doucoure home Huds.. as sweat a strike as you're likely to see. Give him POTS as well.

Frankly it's hard to pick from either list, both are just pedestrian.

Cleverley the player of the season for me, we don't have the same drive now he is crocked.

Goal has to be Janmaat or Delefeou v Chelsea.
    Young player Mukena
Deeney will not be agreeing with me on this as I've never played football professionally.
He should get an NME Brat award for goal celebration of the season: images.jpg

So have they moved away from the WO being part of the award?

Doucouré/His goal v Huddersfield although one of the Chelsea ones will probably win as it was in a great result.

Doucoure player of the season quite easily
Goal of the season, Deeneys V Everton was pretty good but not on the list
So I would give it to Doucoure v Huddersfield

Pretty mediocre selection for GotS and a pretty damning sight that there is only goal scored by a striker in it, not that there are many goals scored by our strikers anyway.

Doucoure has to be PotS for me, sure he has dropped off the past few weeks/months but for over half the season he really has been immense, no one comes close to the influence he's had over games.

So many of the early goals are from outside the area, now we need an open goal from less than 12 yards before anyone considers taking a shot.

Janmaat v Chelsea for me. I don't think I'll bother with player of the season, maybe Gray just to annoy the arrogant one.

Not sure but I found out today that Kismet has closed down. A dark dark day indeed. Another of the Crown jewels gone.

The criteria to even vote seems quite small. If any rival clubs fans get hold of this....

I say let them. Seeing Andre Gray get player of the season thanks to Luton fans would actually be quite funny.

JanMaat vs Chelsea goal of the season.

Doucoure for player of the season by some distance. Even though he's faded in recent weeks (though no where near as much as some on here would have you believe) he's been an influential player for us.

People seem to be overrating Cleverley since he's been out injured. I think he's a decent squad player and I like his attitude and work ethic, but the truth is he is one of those players that isn't particularly good at anything and is a pretty average midfielder, all in all. Wouldn't have him anywhere near player of the season personally.

Doucoure wins it as well as goal of the season (Huddersfield) for me. He may have been poor the past couple of months but everyone has, and before that he was having a fantastic season.

Cleverley is by far and away the most ‘busy’ midfielder we have and the best set-piece taker also.

If so they'd have probably given player of the season to Holebas.

Pots Deeney. Secured our survival single handedly with his two goals in back to back games. Silenced his critics in the process who are all just plebs anyway who don't understand the nuances of his game

Well as Troy thinks we know nothing about the game maybe people will just to prove him right!

Whilst he is not the most technical player he does add drive to the team and he complemented Doucoure well.
