Thank you Malts. I’m sorry maybe I’m just over sensitive to things like that. Or does RC generally enjoy winding people up?
I never take your posts seriously as I picture you with a spherical brown head with no eyes mouth, nose, ears or hair.
The problem (well, one of many problems) was that Capoue played 25% of his passes backwards, and Doucouré 17% of his. Contrast that with Hogg (7%) and Mooy (11%). They had far more positive intent than us, even if they lack quality. Would love to know whether our two were under instructions or it was a lack of confidence, or a lack of movement upfront. Either way, you're right that we were far too timid against limited opposition.
I thought capoue was awful yesterday. They all were though to be fair. That was one depressing match.
It is supposed to be a definition of idiocy that you do the same thing over and over again and expect next time to get a different result. At Watford, we do things the opposite way - we change the head coach, some or all of the backroom staff and some of the players, and still get the same result.
Never bothered me. You are one of at least three females on here though. Not unique. I doubt if anyone else on here really understands what makes RC tick. But he is quite clever. Including with put-downs.
I admit that I spent most of the train journey up and a couple of hours before the match 'hydrating' but I enjoyed yesterday. Huddersfield is a pleasant town, the stadium is superb and the supporters friendly. Even the local police were polite. I'm glad they're going to stay up and look forward to going to the John Smiths again next season. Clearly the game wasn't a classic but we were in control for large parts of it but lacked any threat going forward, which is disappointing. I don't think Gracia will be around for the start of next season.
She was as you recall,in Tony Hancock's phrase, 'a fair piece'. Grunting I believe is like supporting Man Utd. Quite a lot of people do it until they grow up,then they stop. So, absent in most adult tennis below tour level. In Seniors (35 and over) I'd say non existent as most players need to conserve energy. It should of course be outlawed by the WTA but they don't have the Connors,or whatever our esteemed skipper called it,to do so. Local rivals Broxbourne have given us a walkover in the mixed match next Sunday as they cannot raise a team. Pathetic as they only need two pairs. So it will be Berko in May,when all of our misery will be at end,at least temporarily. A friend who went is still too traumatised to reflect and he's been watching Watford for 50 plus years. See you next Saturday!
Usually 'insanity' rather than 'idiocy', often misattributed to Einstein. But I still like your post.
I have a problem with your username - it makes me hungry - in fact I have just eaten a box of you I got for my birthday
We don't have much pace in our side and Capoue makes what little we do possess totally irrelevant by stopping, looking sideways, backwards, anywhere but forwards
There is one silver lining to our defeat yesterday. Look how much joy we give to other supporters. It warms the heart, in these troubled times, to see so many happy faces.
