I thought again we look good. Would not take much to make us a good team. Luckily the Pozzos will see it. We are basically playing with 10 men and the las5 10 minutes thos3 10 are buggered. That is why we are letting in the goals agains5 Bournemouth , Burnley and Huddersfield. We need someone upfront tha5 can move and hold ball up. Until then the midfield and defence are literally playing with 10 men for 90 mins. No wonder they look tired Surely Deeney has to be dropped
"You fat fool it's a fake!" 'Shambolic' was the word used by a friend who was there. BRLR said Gravy was secure for next season according to what he has heard. I'm not sure about that but then I'm a fan aren't I Troy so I know nothing.
On train back to kings X. Brief views Not going for it by playing 1 up front against a limited but energetic Huddersfield for a game that would reignite the end of season run in was the managers choice - and a poor one Why bring Sinclair on when kabasele was there to help shore up the defence in last few minutes and leave with a point. Managers choice and another poor one Great meal in Wakefield in a Rodozio before getting this train Roll on end of season
How did you get on in Harpenden, IBB? Have you got a tale of glory to cheer us up? You owe us one as you obviously forgot your carrots
Ub I've almost erased my matches from my memory as I'm so forlorn at our capitulation,YET AGAIN! On paper the scorecard reads Harpenden 1 Hoddesdon 8,with the 1 being conceded in the third round of matches by Nursie and El Faggo due to Nursie's dodgy back. However my partner and I won none of our matches, merely our opponents lost them for us:6-1 6-0,6-0 6-2 and 6-0 6-1. The other matches were all won in Championship Tie Breaks ( first to 10). The Harpenden team were very nice but most of them appeared to be on Valium, one very anxious lady asked me not to stand behind the court as I was distracting her! Sandwiches were beautifully cut,the cake was perfectly baked and the fruit was succulent and the raw vegetables crunchy. However I was in a foul mood during the last match,as Dave had texted me the 91st minute news. It had to be Ince didn't it? I love thrashing Harpenden but tonight I have no joy, only sorrow. Not overly looking forward to Palace either.
Calm down on the word 'exceptional'. He got a team to mid-table in a league that is really quite poor outside the top 3 or 4 teams. Good results against Madrid and Barca? I accept that. But QSF and Walter got results against big teams and I never see them labelled as exceptional. This is going to sound more scathing that I mean but Gracia has a history of one club a year. We are beginning to see why. An exceptional manager doesn't leave a club on average every 12-18 months.
The thing that makes me sick is the thought that the following people will possibly be happy we lost: Deeney - club captain. Also a media whore. ******. Gray - clearly is never going to settle. Never given a chance. ******. Holebas - ******. Total ****** Okaka - crying out for game time. Then plays like a ****** Richarlison - young player of the year. Played crap for months. ******. Carrillo - was a ****** for other clubs. Doesn't want to be here. ******. Capoue - lazy. ******. ******. Let's start giving it to them. Enough is enough. Winkered
Remember the unity in that team that got promoted against Brighton and the manager that got us over the line? I've never really thought about it before but we have slowly eroded all that away in favour of having a team that keeps us in the PL each year, but with no collective feeling around the club. Now is the time to try and find a way to marry both of those feelings together.
Not anymore coral down to 100 (but they are normally crap odds), am finding the best odds I can on us going down, putting a £5 on and then cheering on championship football would be gutting if we went down but £500 would soften the blow Logically can’t see us going down, but really think we might be pushing our luck, if we don’t beat Crystal Palace next week can’t see us getting any more points this year
just tried to 'invest' £40 in that bet instead of wasting it on going to Spurs game- £10k would make for a decent holiday, however, the highest stake that can be placed is £12!
You can all thank me now Just invested £5 on watford being relegated (only 150:1) but that’s 755 if we go down and I am an unlucky gambler so have secured watford another year in the premier. The various watford managers have spent millions doing this, I have secured safety for a fiver - does it make me a better manager than Silva / Garcia - possibly
The table makes grim reading, even though the 9 point cushion means its unlikely we will go down. Our form over the last 5 games is on par with the 3 teams in the relegation zone. Only Stoke have conceded more than us in the league so far. Huddersfield have only scored 27 goals in 34 games - and five of those came against us! On the plus side only 7 teams have scored more than us in the prem so far this season and we're the only team outside the top 10 to have won double digit games. Which says an awful lot about how the midfield have carried us this season.
We aren't going down but at the same time Championship football would be a laugh. It's a win win IMO. Also you can get 250/1 on bet365 right now
How did Fabby do? I imagine her to be a flamboyant Gabrielle Sabattini type so keen to follow her results.
I had a falling out with bet365 (matched betting) , best I could find other than bet365 was 888 @ 150
Having been at the game today I must say I think the late winner was absolutely irrelevant in the great scheme of things. I would love to see Watford keep a manager for more than a few months but I’m afraid Gracia must and will go in the summer. It’s been glaringly obvious for weeks now that he needed to try a different formation with two strikers but he still hasn’t and today not even with a substitution despite having FOUR forwards on the bench. So we still haven’t scored an away goal since the beginning of January. Today we didn’t give ourselves a chance of winning that game at any stage. I thought the much maligned defence worked very hard, especially in the first half, to keep an enthusiastic Huddersfield at bay and they deserved more than the criticism they are getting for the goal on this occasion. They have a right to expect the rest of the team to create more than two shots on target with 52% of the possession. On a positive note this is a really enjoyable away trip (apart from the football) and so much better than going to the ‘big’ clubs. A lovely stadium with certainly the best atmosphere I’ve experienced anywhere this season and friendly home fans; I’m pleased they’re staying up.
As UEA said last week, each match Saints fail to pick up points inches us towards the line. It's 251/1 on bet365, you could have more than doubled your money if it does happen. Regarding a separate comment, someone said about unity in the promotion season. I'd replace the word unity with confidence. Unity is never something we've really had under current owners, except arguably the Zola season but even then there seemed to be divisions. We have an Awful habit of capitulating in the important games (with the exception of Leicester at home, however if the pen had gone in...)
In view of what happened up north I wish I'd come to cheer you on, but with no Bovril or burgers on offer thst was a non-starter. Instead we recreated the matchday experience by dragging some kids off the street for a half-time penalty shootout that we didn't watch because we were too busy waiting for our refreshments and lining up in the bathroom for our turn to have a wee.
[QUOTE="Forzainglese, post: 2629550, member: 8041" A determined look at the fitness-regimes and medical check-ups on potential new signings wouldn't come amiss, either.[/QUOTE] Coupled with a close look at our medical and fitness staff.
Too right, it's the squad that is the issue with a multitude of ineffective players on key positions and a weak mentality that we have had the past three seasons. I think we do play good stuff under Gracia it's just it's all round the midfield due to our static forwards.
Utter *****. No spirit no idea. Gracia should be sacked just for persisting with karnezis. “Wooah bobby pereyra” should be dropped for failing to keep a corner on the pitch. To do it twice in 5 minutes beggars belief. Huddersfield were there for the taking in the second half and we have no idea how to go for the jugular Our set pieces are beyond woeful. My sons u13 team were more threatening. Completely pissed off
3 parhetic goals in 2 games which have cost us 4 points. He is ****. He was rooted to his line all day today apart from the 94th minute when he went ******* walkabout for no reason. Gomes must have shat in Gracias coffee
In fairness you did say yesterday we would lose as you were going and i felt the same. I also didn't realise until leaving the ground that Pereyra was also booked for diving-i would concede he did have a better second half (which wasn't difficult after those 2 x corners) I completely agree we have zero attacking threat-when we did get near their box we tried to dribble our way through. Also thought Richarlison was poor when he came on-playing him down the right looked odd for a left footed player-when tackled or blocked by an opponent the ball was lost -no hold up play at all by him. Why did Cathcart keep hoofing it long-if it reached Deeney and if he won it there was no one near him -we looked better when playing it to feet-Hughes/Capoue looked ok i felt but why cannot Hughes or Femina last a game-their substitutions didn't improve things whereas Gray did try to play it about in his cameo role for Troy-why not try them together i mean i know Huddersfield have scored 20% of their goals this season against us but what were we frightened of-as some else said we are setting out not to lose rather then trying to win.
I didn’t watch it. I knew it would be a terrible, agonising waste of an hour and a half and couldn’t be bothered with it all. I’d genuinely rather watch the Commonwealth games than Watford at the moment. If they can’t give a ****, why should I?
Our terrible form is not predominantly the managers fault. But it certainly doesn’t look like he’s helping all that much.
