Casual homophobia, the top topic on your forum asking why golliwogs are frowned upon...yep this is Burnley alright.
Wasn’t QSF 7th at Christmas with 29 points? The extraordinary thing is that we have been around 10-13th this season while conceding so many goals. That, I fancy, is unsustainable. In the Prem there is a broad trade off between being boring & having a better chance of survival. It was intriguing that Gino switched to a more attacking approach, with higher risk, this season & infuriating how that ended. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes the safer, more defensive approach next season.
Yes but he has said since the model wasn't one for him - mind you easy to say that now with a job for life at Burnley in his pocket .
Sounds like Adams’ @rsenal. Four tough drilled defenders forming the base. Let’s get some experience & robustness in. Plenty of that at WBA, Stoke, Udders & Soton.
The thing is, it doesn't need much. By that I mean we do need better players that are more committed to not allowing the opposition to score. It could cost some money, but it's not as if we really have a choice. We cannot keep conceding 2 goals per game on average and expect to do well in the Premier league. We don't need £40m left backs or £75m centre backs. We just need a few no-nonsense defenders that can actually do the job. Burnley have them, so it shouldn't be impossible to find players like this. Sorting out the defence should be the easiest area to resolve. Getting good midfielders, good wingers and good strikers is the hardest part, and we've done rather well in this area. The types of goal we concede are exceptionally poor. It's league one stuff. A routine cross, or a lofted free kick causes us no end of problems. It's been like that for years. Take the last 4 games. We've conceded 12 goals, all of which are relatively soft or extremely soft. The vast majority have stemmed from the left hand side. We need players that are very determined not to concede a goal. These players do exist. You know the ones that go the extra mile, that will throw their body in front of the ball. Who will concentrate and sense danger. We've got no one that can head the ball. How many corners do we manage to head clear? Very often the opposition get their head to a cross first. It's the same when we are attacking. How many players actually get to the ball? Yesterday I felt no sense of hope when we got a corner as I knew nothing would come of them. I looked across the line and thought only Prodl or Deeney are likely to head it and they are not very good at that either. Probably the only player we have, who is fearless when it comes to heading is Richarlison, and he's not even a defender. The vast majority of defender we have don't want to get hurt. This is the problem. They all turn their back when shots come in. You have to be brave when you defend, but we don't have this type of player. The only one I would make an allowance for is Mariappa. At least he does try and he is willing to throw himself at the ball......but he's the only one.
Well, I came on here to say well done on your first half performance and that the better team lost... And all I find is ‘Burnley’s a ****hole’ and all Clarets fans are child groomers! Well I’m sorry you lost, especially as you outplayed us most of the game, but frankly if you get that upset by a 2-1 loss then you haven’t been watching long. I suggest you sort out your shabby defence and laughable singing section before you start accusing all Burnley fans of being inbred bigots. See you next season anyway.
If we employed the exact same tactics as Burnley did yesterday and won all our remaining away games 2-1, there is not a fan on here who would complain about the style it was done in. And if you claim that you would, I’d happily call you a liar. Problem is, we won’t because we can’t. I wouldn’t want to endure a whole season of it but I’m not sure Burnley fans have had to. They’ve had some amazing results this season with the squad they have and they do what works for them. That being said - to the Burnley fan who felt that he was being clever and cutting by throwing ‘Elton’s Tears’ at us as an insult? Considering your most famous fan is a Blairite foot soldier guilty of fabricating lies to take the country into and illegal war and costing 1000’s of people their lives both at home and abroad, pretty sure I’m less embarrassed by our most famous fan. Anyone criticising Dyche is short-sighted. If he was in charge of our defenders, you can be sure they wouldn’t be allowed to be doing what they are every week.
Worth bearing in mind that whatever Burnley did wasn’t a patch on what Southampton did to waste time!
I am sorry we did not play very well - our worst away performance of the season after Palace and Swansea. We might have played a bit better if our 3 best creative players had been available...unfortunately Brady got crocked in December and Defour in January - both ruled out for the rest of the season. Also Gudmundsson has missed the last two matches. So at West Brom and Watford, we were forced to be a bit more basic and "agricultural". Luckily for us, reserve centre half Kevin Long did well as a stand-in for our best defender Ben Mee. Hard luck for the Hornets, but we'll happily accept the points.
Any news on Gudmundsson? In my fantasy team for next weeks double gameweek so don't know if I should replace him.
Calf strain...won't know team news until Thursday. But I think Dyche would 99% want him to play in a vital home match against 8th-placed Leicester. N'Koudou has not done enough to keep his place after 2 starts, so I would hang fire on Gudmundssson.
We don't want your patronising praise thanks. Just like we don't want your fellow fan's homophobia and racism. We've moved on from all that down here in Hertfordshire you see. Meanwhile, even your own players think you're knuckle dragging Neanderthals: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36877509 It's no surprise to see your UKIP (of course) councillors are at at too: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.u...red_a___39_racist__39__video_on_social_media/ Your reputation is even well known globally: 'a 100% white team with players with flattened noses and big ears, coached by a ginger Englishman, in a city who voted 70% for Brexit and which has been the breeding ground of racial tensions. Formed with 80% British players and 100% white players, Burnley is the surprise team of the season. 40 kilo-meters north of Manchester, everything is from another century. Burnley’s team photo is such a programme. Guys with short hair, flattened noses, big ears, ready to fight, who seems to announce their style of play on Saturday afternoon and their lifestyle as Saturday night. There is no single black player in the squad of the 7th-ranked in Premier League, coached by a ginger English-man Sean Dyche (46 years old). And it’s as difficult to believe that’s premonition as it’s coincidence.' https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/lequipes-description-burnley-causes-controversy/
Someone like Fonte from Soton a couple of years ago. Or Huth when he went to Lesta. Make him club captain so he can walk the cojones rather than just talk them.
Not sure why we're critical of Burnley having British players in their team. Depressing enough that they're in a much more stable situation with a proven manager. Highly doubt that he's a groomer too since he's likely to be in the wrong social demographic.
Well they have improved on that number of black players then as they had Aaron Lennon and the Number 7 playing. Mind you they didn't do a great deal I must admit so if you didn't notice them don't blame you !
Deeney's getting older now. He's increasingly suffering from 'burger syndrome'. He couldn't play the same foil to Matty and Iggy now. End of an era time.
No we won't, we're Northern, thick, unsophisticated and racist....remember ? We'll be happy as we are thanks ! PS: I love a spot of early morning fishing .....
Was it £2m p.a.? Or £600k + £1k p.w = £650k p.a.? I heard nothing in between at the time nor since. I don't believe that the Joka was asking for £3m p.a. or anything like it. I believe he was probably asking for a whole lot more than a a £1k a week rise though. So should he. Releasing the Joka to hire a dilitante instead was an effing tragedy. The worst decision that Gino Pozzo has made since he was associated with our football club. I.m.h.o., assuming that we stay up and Fulham miss out, then Gino should make a phone-call in the summer and eat humble pie. Rather than purveying fake news. Nothing wrong with a bit of 'tapping up' in the close season as opposed to ten games in. But I can't see it. I doubt that Gino Pozzo does humble.
I think you've overstayed your welcome now here pal. Go fishing for a gudgeon then eh? Or, instead, why don't you continue to hang out in your sad northern mill town (with a singular lack of mills anymore), think about going for a curry but decide against it seeing as the 1/3 of the town where you might get one is now a 'no go area' for you, or have a piss in your outside toilet always assuming that you can get the end of your d.ck beyond your zip. Otherwise just piss yourself. And make sure your daughters are all indoors at night.
My take in yesterday etc. Why didn't you take my advice to simply f.ck off and do one you pathet.c c.nt. and visit yours instead. Apparently the 'charisma bypass reverse op.' is now available on the nhs too. I just delivered a serious put down to an infiltrating Claret tw.t. So where exactly do your allegiances lie?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I would be ashamed to be from a town where 2/3 of its inhabitants voted for Brexit.
The majority of Burnley fans have very little time for Alastair Campbell either mate ! My comments were, of course, fully " tongue in cheek ", a fact missed by some of the respondents on here. We've had nearly two seasons of the " Burnley is a s***hole, racist, thick, inbred, neanderthal " bull***t, and it gets a bit wearing at times ! Burnley is a town of 73,000, with a Club that's won all four Divisional titles, been English Champions twice, won the FA Cup and been beaten finalists twice. We've reached the Quarter finals in Europe, and the Club is an essential part of the Town's identity ... In 1986-87, we beat Orient 2-1 to avoid being the first Club to be automatically relegated to the Conference, and we've built our way back up to a point where we're now 7th in the richest League in World Football, with the help of locally born Directors, none of whom are meg-wealthy, but all of whom stood on the Terraces as young lads and have that shared experienced with the fans. We haven't any debt & Dyche operates a no " D***head * policy to maintain the team's ethos. We were all set to sign a certain Polish winger ( very exotic ! ) but when he turned up, his agent wanted us to pay off his gambling debts of c £250k as part of the deal. At this point we told his agent to " do one ", and he ended up else-where.... As we've come to the Premier League party relatively recently, we've never had the money to have an extensive scouting network in Foreign parts, hence our reliance on signing younger talent from the EFL ( Heaton, Chris Wood, Tarkowski, Andre Gray etc ), Premier League surplus ( Ben Mee, Michael Keane, Aaron Lennon etc ) or players who needed either a settled Club or a reboot ( Sam Vokes, Scott Arfield, Joey Barton ). Our junior development sides now have a good number of players of BAME origin, due to a much wider scouting system and long may that continue !! Best of luck for the rest of the season !!
How about Hornet4Never? What a churlish piece of waste of space. B.t.w., I like women with really big ****. Geddit?
