There was one about socks, one about bird watching or ducks or something and one about growing chillies, which reminds me, I need to ***** mine out. The thread drift is a bit like advert breaks, or the way that the pre-match chatter on Sky today will only mention us for about two minutes and will be full of other irrelevant stuff. Edit: why starred out? that’s a valid word to use in this context.
Wilshere's tweet, Wenger's comments, Deeney's Insta story - this is lining up to be a cracker! I feel like Arsenal SHOULD be up for it and could potentially thrash us but I just don't know if any of them care enough to do so?
Arsenal are not battlers. Remind them of Troy's comments, then rough them up a bit. The game is ours.
Yes, it’s like the Cup draw, every time we manage to avoid Blackburn Olympic and Royal Engineers I breathe a massive sigh of relief.
Certainly brightened up the chat on here. I find it a bit funny that more people had fun now it's being poo pood. Most match threads would be 3 pages of formations. Now we get a kaleidoscope of funny, inane or generally obscure chat. I say bravo and long may it continue!
Lil Jacky-boy's off-field posturing rarely correlates with his on-pitch actions in any significant way, to be fair.
Hmm, which Arsenal will turn up? Hopefully the 4th March Arsenal, rather than the 8th March Arsenal. Head says a Watford loss for this one but heart hoping that Arsenal TV will make for entertaining viewing by 3.30. Had always thought Renaldo seemed a bit off a **** but my opinion changed when I read an article about just how much he does for and gives to charitable causes. He actually seems a pretty kind-hearted man off the pitch. Can't find much to admire in smug Lineker.
Cajones? An interesting take on cojones. Even a cursory glance at Wil*****'s tracksuit bottoms in the groin region confirms Troy's analysis that there's a complete lack of them.
I think I might have been responsible for socks, birding and ducks. Incidentally, a pair of Mandarin ducks have just wandered past my patio doors. Off to watch the match at the Fox & Hounds in Croxley after MotD extra which, again incidentally, I reckon is the best footie show on the telly. Expertly chaired by Mark Chapman (or whoever his stand-in is) and with considered, lucid and knowledgeable guests who collectively offer a real insight. Unlike some (but by no means all - Frank Lampard was on again last night) of the usual suspects.
Even if you didn't know, you would just be able to tell that Wilshere is Luton. Absolutely reeks of it. In other news, I've watched three or four Arsenal Fan TV previews of this game and within the first ten seconds of every video the word 'cojones' is used. Why are they all so rattled by someone saying exactly the same thing they've all been saying about their team for years? They all seem quite excited, saying Deeney's comments are going to mean that the atmosphere at the Emirates is going to be brilliant. Are they looking for new rivals or something now that Spurs have completely left them behind?
Going to get battered and hear arsenal fans tweet about balls, cajones and nuts for the rest of the season. If Troy hadn't made his comment, I think we would have won today. However Troy has done their team talk for them. The only thing is that they might be so up for it, they get 1 or 2 players sent off. First goal will be important. Arsenal 4-1 Watford
Karnezis (GK); Femenía, Pr*dl, Mariappa, Holebas; Doucouré, Capoue; Janmaat, Pereyra, Richarlison; Deeney (C). Subs | Bachmann (GK), Britos, Hughes, Carrillo, Sinclair, Gray, Okaka.
Glad Femenia's back, assuming he's right wing. Very surprised Richarlison makes the starting 11 again, would be good to see a performance from him today. Hughes on the bench but I guess we can ease him in and THREE strikers. Go on Javi!!!
Elneny and Xhaka in the middle - we can win that battle. Maitland Niles at left back - we can win there. Wilshere benched LMAO. COYH WE CAN DO THIS!!
As expected, Sky discussing other teams already. Why did I tune in so early. Apparently, Garcia does not drink sangria
So if we lose against one of the best sides in the league who have lost twice at home all season and just won at the San Siro it's Deeney's fault? Ok.
I gracefully retire from starting any pre-game threads. Seems you can’t cater for all. Personally don’t see the issue with talking about the game whilst trying to allow a bit of a tangent to it as well. It’s what makes this board eminently more readable than any of the other teams that I’ve seen. But dare I say that the moment that pre-game threads just become about predicting line-ups etc, there will be far less people contributing towards it. I prefer the safe-haven where people can do that if they wish or use it as a platform to admit they like F1 and Tim Henman.
Wilshere dropped for his own protection. Keown completely misunderstanding; ". Troy Deeney's called out the Arsenal players this week, saying they've got no kahunas? I'd be looking for him today if I was playing against him". Well Martin, you may well have, but you're a ****.
You should keep doing them, these posts get loads of likes so obviously plenty of people like them. Like you, I think they help this forum stay more interesting than the forums of other teams I support.
Wiltshire needs to be protected to win England the World Cup. Did Troy call out the Arsenal players this week? We’ve not been mentioned yet, not even Gino’s love of replacing perfectly good managers.
Stick with it B! I may not be a fan of the trend of a sub plot to threads, but clearly the majority have embraced it. You captured the current spirit of the forum; nowt wrong with that, even if A few of us look forward to the day it moves on to something else. Best I can see, this is the most diverse and interesting forum around, with a **** load of w*****s I don't agree with, who brighten up my enjoyment of being a Horn, and give me the opportunity to be a pompous patronising nob now and again. I am proud of this forum. Warts and all. Carry on Burnsy...
Plenty of mediocre players in his era secured a slam or two. At least Ruzedski got to the US open final
I predicted Bakayoko would be sent off for Chelsea and he did. Now I'm going to say... Xhaka off for Arsenal
