Has Tony Gale called him a typical foreigner make a meal of an injury like he did with the Man City goalkeeper after he was wiped out by Mane playing against Liverpool?
Just bumped into AJ. I didn't realise Gomes was quite that tall, although AJ does not have his trainers on and Gomes does. After a quick Google check, Gomes is 6'2" and AJ is 6'5".

Despite a dominant team performace and a deserved win - Gomes was superb today when called upon. Even more convinced now than I was 2 weeks ago that had he not got injured at Everton, we'd have three more points than we do now. Gomes - you're a legend
I know he has no experience as a coach, but me thinks we could do a lot worse than offer Gomes a player manager job if Silva decides to leave us.
After Gomes's treble save vs Bolton I said I'd name my first-born after him. Looks I'm going to have two kids called Heurelho now.
Two more for the Gomes scrapbook. Not particularly called upon much today, but did everything he needed to do:
I think he’s my favourite player. What a keeper! Almunia was good for us but Gomes is on another planet. Best keeper ever. Remember Man Utd had Van Der Sar until he was 40 so Gomes has a bit of time yet!
Excellent, look how high he’s jumped. Alley is Shtting himself and has even forgotten to dive. Surely, he has to be the best Watford keeper ever?
OK I'll bite - our "best keeper ever"? Pat Jennings was a wonderful keeper at a very young age and much better at dealing with crosses. Tony Coton was as good a shot stopper and commanded his penalty area better than Gomes. Andy Rankin made the best save I can remember - admittedly not a double save like Gomes against Spam - up at Old Trafford in the League Cup.
Another great pic for the Gomes scrapbook. Played well again yesterday, very consistent lately. Just hope that when he does make an error, it doesn't cost us points as he really doesn't deserve that considering his solid performances of late.
Have to feel sorry for him having no protection from the defence. No wonder he prefers coming out for them rather than let his defence handle it.
Gomie is my favourite Pozzo era player. He cares & he understands the supporters. Some fantastic pix on this thread. Looks like his days as first choice may, however, be over. Any intel on his plans? Great if he could remain part of the set up.
In an interview monthd ago, he said this is his final contract. He then plans on being an agent due to hom knowing the importance of making the correct move in a player's career. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/4379137/heurelho-gomes-watford-super-agent/
Yep, he's utterly wonderful in every regard, but I hope we never see him in a watford shirt ever again.
You remind me. The idea of the saintly Gomie entering the agents' shark pool was so distressing I had blotted it out of my mind.
So, not missing for “personal reasons” as was announced.... “Just to clarify why I wasn’t involved today, just because people started to ask me, there wasn’t no personal reason, it was the manager decision, really don’t know why, we never had a problem but I need to respect it”.
Well overdue, lovely bloke but he's had no competition for a few seasons now yet has made more and more errors. Time to give Bachmann a go in the squad, sounds like he's deserved it.
I expect it was nothing he did, but if this is to be his last season, maybe the boss thoughgt it was time to get Bachmann some 1st team squad experience. I would not be surprised if Bachmann actually plays a game or two either before the end of the season once we are completely safe from relegation.
