Well these are good players, but Lukebakio and Ndong are basically potential. Ndong is a little further along the line in terms of development, but clearly he's not the finished product yet. These are the players Watford have to go for. Take a chance and hope they develop. We did that with Richarlison and Doucoure and we can already see that has paid off. Chalobah and Hughes the same. We've signed one top quality proven player in Deulofeu, which will certainly help the cause. We're getting Dahlberg as well, who is another very good signing, in terms of potential. So it's all good....BUT....I will add, I'm not convinced it's enough to turn the tide THIS season. We are in a hole, and the defence is chronically bad. The players individually and collectively are not good enough. Good coaching will go some way to helping things, but I believe we do need a lot more quality in the wing backs and centrally. This, as yet, has not been addressed, and it's getting a bit late in the day now. Has it been a good transfer window? Yes, in terms of potential, and yes with Deulofeu, but is it enough to help us get out of the slide we are in........I'm not so sure enough has been done.
I am amazed that we're not looking for new full backs on both sides. Holebas, Janmaat and (probably) Zeegalaar just don't look up to the job. We need an upgrade on the first two desperately to my mind.
Can't find the article you're talking about but I'd say he's almost the opposite of Capoue. His game is about being energetic and dynamically breaking up play but he's criticised for being a bit of a headless chicken and not that good technically. Capoue has the technique but does everything so slowly and deliberately that he's a waste of space. He may or may not turn out to be an improvement but he's certainly nothing like Capoue in his playing style.
Glad you like them. They're part of the Holebas Spring/Summer collection (www.jholebas.com). Why not treat yourself to a pair or something similarly stylish and elegant from the site? There's plenty to choose from!
And unless Deulofeu is on fire tonight, we'll lose to one of our relegation rivals before getting stuffed by Chelsea whoever plays, so the new coach bounce will have disappeared before the new guys can make a difference. I could be wrong about the next two matches, of course....
I think you share the same fears as me, but it is what it is. We can do nothing about it, apart from watch, support and hope.
Ahhh ok, thanks. When you said twice in one post that the article was on the Herts Mercury site, I thought that's where the article might be, rather than on the Watford Observer site where it actually is. You do know that you can post links don't you? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...io-what-can-watford-expect-from-new-recruits/
Their striking silhouette screams Maison Holebas. Reminiscent of bondage trousers without the awkward strapping. The lowslung saddle area could be disadvantageous if one had to vault a wall swiftly to evade the police/scrump apples. On the other hand, their generous cut & loose fit would be a boon for Deulofeu style crazy dancing. One to ponder.
Anything better than Watson, Doccoure, NDong & Cleverley already sounds much better than the Doccoure, Capoue & Watson trio we had recently. That gave me shivers.
All done. He's just hanging out at the training ground having his photo taken with the shirt and doing videos saying that he will fight for the yellow shirt in broken English.
Saying how please he is to be joining Watford, which in his case is actually true, as we're still less of a ******** than Sunderland.
I can't believe this hasn't been done yet... Must be our new chant: Free kick? Put Ndong on it. Corner? Put Ndong on it. Penalty? Put Ndong on it.
We must have the same sources. I've heard it's already been concluded apart from the dots over the Is in Didier
Another "highly-rated" signing. Not quite "one of Europe's most exciting wingers" that we taglined Mujangi Bia, but it's something.
Highly-rated midfielder Didier Ndong So highly rated that we've offered to buy him outright rather than spend the month haggling for a loan deal.
Hopefully those criteria are completely unrealistic ones, such as him scoring 20 goals, or us not getting relegated.
Well I hope he does well , he won't disappoint, am expecting him to be crap , when will chalobah be back ?
If that's our business concluded it's going to be a nervous relegation scrap to keep the season alive and interesting . Please Gino it's rabbit out the hat time (not headless chicken).
