Southampton - like last season - are struggling to score goals; we can't defend if our lives depended on it. Huddersfield hadn't scored away since the opening day yet stuck four past us - so it seems inevitable that the Saints problems in front of goal will end tomorrow:eek:.

I believe we can win, but we need to be clinical up front to do so as surely one goal won't be enough. How confident would you all be of us seeing the game out at 1-0 for the last half hour??

Let's hope the players put in a performance worthy of the memory of GT, and do him proud. Therefore, a positive, high scoring prediction of 3-2 to Watford:) (heart ruling head).

We'll win this, easily, 3-1 to the Hornets.

    Gray hattrick.

    Very pessimistic about this game.

We will lose 1-2 or 0-1. They will stick 10 men behind the ball like Stoke did and will score on the counter in the last ten minutes.

Either that or we will be 1-0 up, miss a million chances and then lose 1-2 in the last 5 minutes.

    Standard.

Starting to agree with you on Silvas job being in jeopardy.

If we were to lose on Saturday, Silva woul dhave to win at least one out of Leicester (away), Stoke (away), Chelsea ( home).

Once the rot sets in , its very difficult to turnaround.

Id imagine if we do lose tomorrow Gino will be talking to people so that we can move quickly with a replacement manage if needed in the following weeks.

0-2. Rationale ? We are **** and our manager doesn't want to be here and has just been told that he's got a great squad and doesn't need any new signings. Soton are really **** going fwd so will only be able to score 2 against our "defence". Hope my correct guess against Swansea was a one-off.

It's pretty clear to everyone that there are tensions behind the scenes and not everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet. There are contradictions coming from Silva, Duxbury and Giraldi. The sideswipe comment from Silva saying the club needs to grow up is quite telling.

This is what I'm referring to when I say the club is in a bit of a mess.

Now the Christmas holidays are over I hope we stop being the gift that keeps giving. Hopefully go with a back four with Wague and kabasele in middle, should have enough quality to match them on the day. Heart says 3-1 but heads saying 1 - 1

Seems like a big game for us, if we win could go upto 9th and the team might start to get their confidence back, if we loose could easily go down to 13th and I struggle to see any change in form till we start getting some of our injuries back.

I remember the good old days around week 10, we were so confident in our team we didn’t even bother discussing the game the thread was full of gardening tips and sock etiquette

Silva saying he's frustrated by the injury situation, does not, in my view, indicate that the 'club is in a bit of a mess'. You clearly see it differently, but then you do tend to dwell on the negative and blow every minor setback completely out of proportion, so I suppose that's no surprise

It’s also no surprise you are oblivious to what most others can see. Having your head permanently in the sand tends to do that.

There are so many indicators that you happily ignore. That’s fine, as some fans do not want to see the problems.

But to deny we have don’t have problems is doing the club a disservice.

This might sound negative, but for me this game is simple, don’t lose!!

If we don’t lose we keep the gap between them and us at 5 points, the Palace and Swansea games were ridiculous, as soon as they both equalised we checked the game and handed both teams three points, if we’d have at least secured a draw in each we wouldn’t have given up vital ground to relegation rivals. If we don’t keep gifting three points to all the teams below us we can’t get relegated.

Now our thoughts are dominated by The Prodigy & our left back's designer low crotch nappy trousers.

A more morbid cast of mind to match the deterioration on the pitch.

Which lugubrious cultural backwaters await a defeat tomorrow?

I don't deny we have problems. We have too many key players injured; We are conceding too many goals and, frustratingly, we have lost 2 or 3 games that we should have won. But, overall, I think WFC is in better shape than it's been for many, many years and I am sure that I am not alone when I say that I find your incessant bleating that the 'club is in a mess' as absurd as it is tedious.

Bringing up topical subjects when they occur, be it good or bad, is not incessant bleating. I wrote one line in a longer post saying the club appears to be in a mess. That's hardly controversial. I only wrote this once, which again is hardly incessant.

It's your remarks that are tedious as it stops real fans from posting their true feelings because they get tend to get slaughtered for it.

It doesn't bother me, but I know it stops a lot of others from doing so, which is a shame.

If there are concerns, they need to be aired by fans and a forum is a good place to do that. It cannot always be a "sugar coated" post that you seem to crave.

Always a good ploy......when you've got nothing to say, turn to juvenile ridicule. It's a winner every time.

I really am going out now, so you and the 'others' have plenty of time to come up with a response!

I've just watched Silva's press conference and I don't see this great disparity between what he and Giraldi are saying.

    - Giraldi says that the priority is to get our injured players back to fitnees, and this seems to be Silva's primary concern and source of frustration as well.
    - Giraldi is happy with our squad, Silva says he is very happy with his players.
    - Giraldi says January is "to correct what is wrong, or if there has been issues like injury". At no point does he say we won't be making any signings. Silva agrees that the best time to do business is in the summer.

The Watford Observer will paint it in such a way so that people click on their articles, but in reality it comes across as something of nothing. We all know how ambitious Silva is - I think he will always want one more player than the club can give him. Should we go back to the days of spending well beyond our means?

As for the club being in a mess? The club is in the best position it's been in since the 80s, possibly ever.

Was I imagining the interviews Silva gave before the transfer window opened? I'm sure he said we would be putting right the last week of the summer window.

Also I'm sure I read that Duxbury wanted to get deals done early in January.......maybe I just dreamt that.

There seems to have been a change in direction and I think it's to do with the medical department. I think the line Giraldi gave indicating concentrating on getting players back from injury is key. I think priorities have changed.

One line is being used constantly against me, and I'm not sure why....maybe it's just emotive.

Let's set this straight and not just pick it apart out of context. My exact quote was "I have a lot of faith in the owners but the club looks to be in a bit of a mess right now."

I stand by that. Look at the recent results, look at the injury record, there seems to be a divide between the board and Silva. That might not be true, but that's the impression a lot of people have. Look at the lack of transfer activity, compared to quotes by Silva and Duxbury leading up to the January window.

These are all indicators that things are not good behind the scenes, and to me it appears to be a bit of a mess.

Do you enthuse those around you when you attend a game?

    Do you chit-chat before kick-off?

Or are you one of those (no offence) slightly strange loners, who turn up at a game year after year on your own?

Would personally start Deeney for this one. Looked better against, an albeit ‘b’ team, Bristol City. Hopefully his suspension, and following criticism, will drive him on to try regain some form. I’m sure Deeney would also understand the importance of the day for the club than Gray.
