I'd like to see Pererya in the middle, behind Gray and Carrillo out wide right.

Brady is out, so there will be less threat down their left and can see Gray having a stormer against his old club. :D

About time the 'curse of the returning old player' worked in our favour for once.

Not a big fan of Dyche. Appreciated the job he did here, but that was a while ago and he was no better for us than Malky was. And in the game at the Vic last season, he was desperate for Niang to get a second booking and thus sent off for celebrating with the crowd. Despite his denials, he loves getting one over us so is clearly trying to prove something to the Pozzo's for sacking him straight away.

For me, his coaching/playing style is a slight upgrade on the Pulis/Hughes/Allardyce coaching manual - a negative, spoiling, defensive way of playing, dependent on organisation and numbers behind the ball. The stats on goals scored/conceded for Burnley this season prove just that (and that he's getting better and better at delivering exactly that).

Prediction - our appalling record at Burnley will continue, and we'll lose 1 or 2 nil. People will then delight in saying that Dyche is a better coach than Silva but doesn't get anywhere near as much credit because he's English - glossing over the fact that it's far simpler to put together a team of spoilers than a team of entertainers trying to play football in a "swashbuckling" manor. It's why neutrals prefer to watch a Guardiola team over a Mourinho team.

Whatever happens on Saturday, I'd still rather have Silva as our coach than Dyche, 100%.

I’m more nervous of the palace game tbh. They are getting hard to beat now and we’re playing them at the wrong time but it’s not beyond us to nick 6pts from these two games.

All I can say is enjoy mid-table in the Championship whilst we're both lording it in the top 8 of the Premier league!

We will lose there. We always lose there, even when we said goodbye to God and Luther and Walley (Kenny absent). Freezing cold, might even be snowed off. Our fair weather Latinos and Mediterranean types won't turn up. 1-0 or 2-0 to the cloggers. We will have 87% possession but no shots.

Could be some tricky driving conditions anytime between Friday and Sunday in the Midlands/North West. Snow showers are forecast for Manchester on Saturday afternoon, but not for Burnley.

It is going too feel very cold!

To be fair, he is both an intelligent and wry character, and I think we can probably take his remark in the manner it was intended, which is a mildly amusing joke that one or more of us would have been making in the course of this thread, had he not done so first!

No Brady, no set piece taker or decent crosser of the ball! Everything goes through Brady!
Also if Ben Mee is out that breaks up their regular centre back pairing, so a new back four.
I think we should attack fast and press hard early and hopefully we can be more clinical when we get our chances then I’m hopeful of a positive result.
But its us so probably a dour 1-0 loss!

Need to get a line in there about being barrel chested and then perhaps infer that the reason why Dje Djede can't make the squad is because EPL rules only allow 1 barrel chested player per 25 man squad.

7th v 8th so looks like two evenly-matched teams...shame the weather looks like being the worst of the season with snow, ice and a bitterly cold northerly wind blowing in off the adjacent Pennine hills:)

Watford to win by 3 pairs of gloves to 1 (Steven Defour). Our British and Irish players don't need gloves.;)

I notice there is a BBC "yellow" weather warning for the north-west. Will the match be postponed if there are blizzard conditions? Not the pitch (but crowd safety on police advice).

Sincerely hope not, I am off in a couple of hours, to catch my train. I have my train tickets, my match ticket, and paid for three nights in Burnley Travelodge, by Barracks Station.
Looking forward to my pints in the Boot Inn. Might see you there if you use that establishment.
looks from the forecast that we might dodge the worst of the snow till after the match, but Sunday is looking very grim.

ditch the boot inn and go to the bridge bier huis: ridiculously cheap ales on the hand pump and loads of superstrength belgium bottled beers. I absolutely love a gritty northern away. Cant wait!

    I'm nervous about both.
However I shall worry about Burnely and then Palace as I may spontaneously combust if I adopt a dual fretting policy.

At least you didn't book the Kierby hotel as I did a couple of years ago before reading the reviews (and ended up not travelling at all) https://www.2br.co.uk/news/local-news/2449364/keirby-hotel-closes/

Out of our Latin players how many of the poor b@stards are going to be affected by the cold and see a decline in performance levels.

Richarlison - Hes hard as nails so not worried about him. Unaffected, although make pick up a lot of grazes from rolling around on the frozen soil.

Kiko - Top player, but a little bit of a softie. Mildy affected

Pereyra - Good fighter, but his already brittle bones will be like crystal glass in the sub zero temperatures. Best left on the bench sporting a double snood and electric blanket.

Carillo - Hes already gone AWOL and is currently boarding the first plane back to Peru.

Was hoping to read that Pereyra is from Tierra del Fuego - where the climate is very Burnley-esque - but alas he is from one of the warmer parts of Argentina. Hot water bottles crammed into every loose bit of clothing I reckon.

Last week Burnley lost 0-1 and Gray scored the winner.

From the BBC site on the match preview page:

"With Dyche now five years into a remarkable reign at Turf Moor, Burnley must be eternally grateful to the Pozzos for their lack of judgement

They might be grateful but doubt the Pozzos are that bothered now...the media make more it than Dyche does.

Burnley fans think our side is fat.
They will need to be tomorrow if it is decidedly nippy.
    Predicted line up:
    'Lardy' Gomes
'Cake-Consuming" Kiko ,'Podgy' Prodl,'Massive Maps,Marvin the Morbidly Obese Android.
'Double Decker' Doucoure, 'Mr Creosote' Cleverley,Roberto 'Porky' Pereyra.
