Oh well it was on the cards all day long with are rocky defensive line , City are just a class above the rest in every position .

We'd have won if we had their team

  7. City a class above, it wrinkles though the laws of the game don't apply to them. May as well give them the title now no point playing the rest of the season if they get to play 14 v 11 every week.

Oh well except for two offside goals it's a fair result ... I'd lay money it won't be city's biggest win this season

Fair play to Silva, he set us up to give it a go and our players worked their socks off. On another day, the officials actually turn up, a couple of our chances go in and... City still would have wiped the floor with us. They were outstanding.

In spite of the scoreline, we were 10 times better today than we were when they beat us 5-0 in May. Still very optimistic for the season going forward.

I don't care when we're on I will not be watching MOTD.
City were brilliant and will win the league by miles. Let's just forget it and move on

Just record it and skip past our game then play it back and watch it at the end!
I never watch it live anyway, so I always watch us first when we win!;)

Holy sh&£ That is a masterclass in how to win a football game. That's also one our heaviest prem home losses too, but thank god it's only September. Silva has still done well as eight points is great. We need to move on and the players will have learned from a moneybags team how passion and desire cannot win against wealth. I still love the boys for giving it a go today.

Don't mind watching us get beaten if it's deserved - and bar two offside goals, this was deserved.
I don't think we'll be the last team to get tonked by City this season, and at least we gave it a go.
I know it's petty, but I feel a lot better knowing that Liverpool have zero chance of winning the league this season, and that we've already played our part in making that happen. Again.

Really impressed with how city played and they'll probably go on to win the league, glad we only have to play them twice.

They had 28 attempts with 10 on target. Bloody hell.

I thought we looked a bit petrified of them. What happened to the chasing and closing down and harrying?

I would have had hopeless Gray off at HT.

City were class all over the pitch. The gulf in class is huge. 0-6 is not a battering against that team.

City just a class above with a little help from the rookery lino who missed both offside goals and virtually every other decision.

Shame the scoreline was so heavy but not too disheartened and if anything came away from the game glad im a Watford supporter and not a city fan. Everything about that club just seems so artifcial, even their attempted poznan near the end seemed somewhat forced.

Yeah I know we're a premier league team I was just stating how money dominates the league for the big five so us smaller fish will never compete as well as they can. That doesn't mean we cannot try to give them a game, ala Man Utd and Liverpool etc. Swansea away next.

I cant believe in this day and age people actually watch MOTD let alone worry about where we are on the play list.

    Truly awful sports broadcasting.

City are probably the form team in the whole of Europe so to get a result we needed everything to go our way today. Having four centre backs out made that even more unlikely. It's hard to be too annoyed with the players or Silva, their movement was just too good, the front four or five interchanged all the time and they would've caused anyone problems.

Where we have a genuine gripe is with the terrible officiating throughout. Conceding two offside goals completely killed the game for us. But that was just the tip of the iceberg, there were poor decisions all over the pitch.

Thought Carrillo was our best player, worked hard and didn't look out of place with his use of the ball. A wake up call for some of the others, they've had a good start but have some way to go to compete with the best. No shame in getting outclassed by an in-form City, test is how we respond now.

Outclassed by the best team in the country and one of the best teams in Europe, they are really going to take some stopping this season. It could be argued that many decisions went against us which they definitely did but we would have got comprehensively beaten anyhow even if the officials were from Watford :D. It was never going to be an easy day with defensive injuries and suspensions but even with Prodl, Fermenia, Cathcart, Britos or whoever else City had too much for us. On wards and upwards against Swansea and West Brom in the next couple of weeks where the teams will be more to our level!

The score definitely didn't reflect how we played. Even if the score suggests that we were better off with Mazza I thought we were miles better than last season and our front line looks very energetic compared to the constant hoofing we had before.

Had Richarlison got a goal from that well placed cross, I think the game would have played out completely differently as we had a great momentum in the first 20-odd minutes; before they scored from the free kick that was given to them. Although Cleverley's tackle was a foul, it was given after a couple of blatant handballs, which if dealt with correctly, it wouldn't have ended up with a City free kick. There were also a couple of goals which looked a bit suspect in terms of being offside, but I don't want to say anything until i've seen replays.

Anyways, it's all 'ifs, buts and coulds" and at the end of the day, City were class and i'm not too disheartened after that game because it was a clear contrast of a £500 million team playing a £80 million one. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the league but it's early days yet and the exact same was said early last season where they looked invincible at points.

In regards to next week, I also wouldn't be surprised if Palace nicked a point from City, because that is what happens in football, and unfortunately for us, I think Swansea away will also be a tough one. That said, I think we should give Deeney a start and see what he can do. Roll on for next week Watford, COYH's!

Their movement was very good, it looked like Citeh had more men on the pitch than us.

Not a dig at the officiating.

Beat Swansea away next week and we ll be on 11 points from 6 games.

Those 6 games would have been against a spread of 2 X top third , 2 X middle third and 2 X bottom third teams.

Yeah was very pleased with Carillo. Great work rate and enough quality to threaten most defenders in the league.

Are the 2nd and 3rd goals confirmed as offside or are they those borderline ones?

  35. lutonh8a

They were close calls but you could clearly see that they were offside, I also felt that Richarlison was pushed in the back as well before their 5th and I am unsure how Chalobah did not get a penalty for the foul on him.
