Interesting analysis. Presumably, Marco will have noticed something similar and perhaps instructed Nathaniel and Abdoulaye to switch and share that role more, if what you are fearing comes to pass, so that they can't just double up and ruin our gameplan. Fingers crossed!
Silva press conference last night. "We can't afford to take them lightly - it will be a tough match" Marco Silva insisted that tomorrow's opponents Man City have the ability to hurt his high-flying side, but only if the Hornets drop their concentration. "I was pleased with our attitude against Southampton, but we can't afford to relax. That game is gone, and now we face a different side, with a different set of problems. But this is ok - this is normal". He was dismissive of the mounting expectation of Watford moving to the top of the Premier League, saying "We can't take this for granted, this is a serious mistake. Manchester have some good players and they will fight for their manager who is a good guy. It is important to realize that we have to fight as well. If we fight we will win, but if we don't fight then we draw or even lose. But this is normal for every game". Asked about the injury crisis in defence, he said " We have solved these problems. I am confident in my team, but not too confident. We can't afford to take them lightly - it will be a tough match". He was keen to fire out a message to the officials who he feels haven't protected his players enough this season. "Of course we know what to expect from Manchester, but it is the job of the referee to allow my players to play football and not be treated unfairly. Dangerous tackles and diving are not acceptable, it has no place in football". Watford will go top on Saturday evening for at least 24 hours. Sounds like he has the lads focused for this one, which Mazzarri never seemed able to do.
Interestingly this thread has already achieved 11 pages the same as V Southampton ended up and that's before today's games has even started, seems lasts weeks tremendous result and this weeks game has really got tongues wagging!
Makes no sense to me. I ask this question, Imagine a coach leaving Southend on a Friday evening and coming round the M25 to Watford. Imagine a coach leaving Manchester at the same time. When the coach from Southend arrives at Watford, how far away do you think the Manchester coach would be. Then factor in all the time and hassle of the flight as well. Of course I am aware that it would be a corp. jet without check in queues, but even so......
This morning I saw a bus with Luther blissett on it, 1 minute later a sign for Graham Taylor 10k, and few minutes later passed a road called jackets lane or something like that. The omens are good for today! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Yes, but they've also had to travel halfway across the world to Holland. No Watford player has had to do anything like that. Carrillo, for example, only had to pop home to play a couple of matches
I saw a dog named Aguero kick another dog called Ederson in the face whilst a cat called Mike Dean laughed and stroked his whiskers. This all happened on a road called Man City To Win 5-0 Tough Afternoon For The Hornets Street. Omens not so good.
Yes. Well, the scooters were named after wasps, of course, because of the noise they make. Disappointingly, the Italian for hornet is apparently calabrone (thanks, Google).
20 minutes boarding, 20 minute flight, 10 minutes coach transfer at Elstree, 10 minutes to reach Watford .... and 4 hours to find a parking space.
I like it. This afternoon's top pick sees the clash of two of this seasons form teams as Manchester City travel to sunny south west Hertfordshire to take on Gino Pozzo's calabrone. There is a real buzz about this match as both teams have had an unbeaten start to the season. Free scoring Citeh will be looking to be the first team to break the calabrone's makeshift defence which has held firm for the last three games. Silva's mighty Hornets will look to sting Pep Guardiola's team on counter and if the midfield duo of Nathaniel Chalobah and Abdoulaye Doucouré show the form of recent weeks it won't be a surprise for Watford to come out on top in this battle. Come on you Calabrone!
Three years ago today we had no manager as Oscar had been admitted to hospital after the loss to Charlton and we played at Blackpool winning with a Vydra goal. It seems a lifetime ago
And 'calzone' which is very similar and which we know as a type of pizza, actually means sock in Italian. Calabrone and Calzone. Look at the similarity. Coincidence? I don't think so.
I said he always has a red card in him, so don't try and make an arguement out of nothing. He dives into tackles a lot. On quite a few occasions he has only received a yellow instead of a red so don't let the stats warp you. He can be a liability.
Also, of course, Italians are good at Scooters and socks, but not so good at entomology - well known facts.
There are going to be an awful lot of disappointed people on here after today's match. Even with a full strength team we have a microscopic chance of beating a team like them. With the patched up defence we will put out we have no chance whatsoever. Not forgetting the fact that silva will once again be starting with a striker who's blunter then a spoon, while our best striker won't even make the bench. All because he's desperate to save face and prove he hasn't made the most expensive mistake in the history of the club. A comfortable 2-0 win for them, or 4-0 if they don't ease off in the second half. Getting giddy after two wins against ***** opposition and two flukey draws? Dear oh dear. When will you all learn? Perspective.
You're quite right. Enjoying success and being optimistic has no place at this club. No doubt we can return to the usual negatively that we are all more familiar and comfortable with once we lose today. Here's hoping......oops, sorry, forgot that we're not supposed to have any hope either.
Gray just needs time to,adapt, but I'd rather deeny along side him. One problem that would change the formation , but I still think we could play a 4,4,2 quite well . With better chances for both deeny and gray for 2 reasons , Deeny puts away 9 last season basically on his own up front , we have seen what he can do with a partner in attack , when Odion played . So change the formation , and just use docoure, and chalobah as the central mids , with Richarlison wing Carrillo wing and try leaving cleverly out if it doesn't work just drop the lowest performer for the next week simple.
Getting excited 3-0 watford , 5 sent off 2 watford players 3 Man City . Referee so traumatised vows never to ref again. If we draw or win can we arrange a mass call up to the **** that does the 5 o'clock show on talk sport No we are not a **** club Yes there are more clubs in the prem than 5 The ponzos do know what they are doing Yes we have had a few managers - but who has t And finally **** off you opinionated useless **** sucker If we loose I suggest we Don't bother
I think it could work , not in this match but close games wich we could and should gain more points. I know cleverly is playing well but I'd like to make more use of Gray and Deeny up front . In my opinion we will gain more points in the long run and improve strikers moral, wich increases form and goals.
