The staff change from month to month because of the types of kids and ages they target to employ. It'll never get better in the long term.
It took 4 people to tell me where the ketchup was, absolutely awful service at The Vic. There's always so many people standing around doing nothing as well, hire people with GCSE's please.
Brighton supporting friend told me there was no beer whatsoever in the away end. Our match day experience needs a lot of work!
There's no alcohol licence there because of the limited concourse size as I understand it. It's been like that for years.
Thought it was better on Saturday. 3 pints of Tring Brewery ale was already poured at halftime so seem to have listened and read this site. Not sure if same with Lager though
We did have a licence and did provide alcohol in a bar in the away end last season (where the old shop was). It was generally OK pre-match but got very crowded at h.t. especially when the away end was full (2,300). Safety officers and the police considered it dangerously overcrowded on occasion and an 'incident' kicked off (against Man. City on the last day I think). Bloke smoking in there. So after further advice that we might open it selectively, especially pre-match, the advice has now changed again to not at all. That's not ideal of course. But until we get a kick-arse new stand there, with a much bigger concourse, I fear it will now stay that way. The Oddfellows (away pub) is of course only 2 or 3 mins walk away for a pre-match bevvy. And there are now six (rather than four) away turnstiles to facilitate entry for late away arrivals who have left it to the last minute to leave the Oddfellows.
OK. But I suspect it's the H&S rules that have changed rather than any churlish reasoning to deny away supporters a pint in the ground.
Yeah. Probably because it's blocked off halfway so is no longer sufficient. When the whole concourse was open perhaps safelty regulations were met. Or perhaps they were more lenient 20 odd years ago.
