    Maybe. But they can improve. Both Beckham and Rooney became much more lucid and media savvy after a bit of coaching in media interaction from the place they were as raw 17 y.olds from sink estates in east London and Liverpool.

    Bob Wilson was as wooden as a wooden thing on a wooden day initially but he improved hugely.
    I can detect little change in Merson's delivery.

    He's now given every team a grade on the transfer window. Makes me laugh as he hasn't heard of most players bought by the clubs and of those that have bought a large number he just says "they are having a go" all the time. He's given us a grade B.

    I know we’ve universally agreed that ’Mersons Predictions’ are irrelevant and humorous - but this weeks is a classic. In a nutshell...

    WBA unlucky at Arsenal but not been great this season. Watford have been superb and won all their games. Prediction on that basis? 1-0 West Brom. Set piece.

    Imagine if he had a ghostwriter. Easiest job in the world because you know what he’ll say long before he’s said (and mispronounced) it.

    He copied Lawro's prediction, as he also said 1-0 to West Brom. Lawro has only got it right once this season with Watford, because Watford have only lost one game.

    Interesting Merson said set piece. I wonder if he means from the penalty spot?

    Why is it obsessive to bring it up? I think people have been clear that we take what they say with a pinch of salt - but like it or not, it’s media coverage of a game featuring our club so isn’t the forum the place where we can mention it?

    I love on the audio when one of the panel actually tries to explain what happened in that season, Redknapp’s response was to talk over him and mock him which says all you need to know really. That he got cheers and laughter from the audience also shows why the next PM in this country will be elected in a similar way to Trump. Never mind the facts/policies he says funny/soundbite things.
