Well I hope that doesn't sum up our season "Six-yards out and with no pressure on him, Success can't keep his effort down"

Every game in tribute to GT has been 0-0 ('Boro, Villa and Real Soc)... Shame that, but oh well. Real Sociedad are no team to underestimate, they came 7th in a good league so a draw is acceptable

Had Hull won at The Vic it would have been goal difference. Closer than you think.

Only followed via twitter but sounds like we battered a good team second half and restricted them to half chances throughout

Fingers crossed 2/3 new players and a 'free hit' vs Liverpool should prepare us to take 4 points from the next 2

Fist learn how to not lose matches. Three clean sheets now after Wimbledon debacle. Progress made.

Then work out how to win them. Work still in progress.

Yes but by the same stupid logic I could say well if we won any other game we would have been even further away from the drop zone. Pointless discussion as we DID BEAT hull and were effectively safe with 5 games to go before the players all went on holiday.

The point is about fine margins, and not about what actually happened. Some think there's such a thing as comfortably 17th and some don't. Hardly the need to resort to insults.

A nice occasion. Good to see old faces at half time and we shared a cup at the end!!

The match was largely uninspiring. You can only really look at the shape of the team and how individuals performed within it.

For me, Pereyra is a class above his counterparts. Some of his touches were outstanding. He did one amazing move just before half time where he flicked the ball and nutmegged his marker all in one movement before putting Sinclair through on goal, which came to nothing.

Cleverley missed a great chance straight after half time and Success blasted a real sitter high over the bar from close in on 87 minutes. Amrabat had one long range shot and Okaka had a header disallowed for offside. That's about it from an attacking sense.

Real were dominant in the first half and Watford had to thank Gomes for keeping them out, with a string a decent stops.

Second half Watford did improve, but it was a more even affair.

It's clear where our problems lie. On the flanks and up front. We just do not have the necessary quality and until that's rectified, Watford's progress as a team will be fruitless.

Plus points were Pereyra and Gomes. Britos played well. On the negative, Sinclair is pointless, Amrabat gives little quality, Success was extremely poor and Kaboul was wasteful in possession making lots of mistakes. Janmaat was poor defensively as well.

Most of the squad got a run out today though so for a workout it was good.

I'm a little biased on Femenia, but he is quality. He didn't have too long on the pitch. They made a bulk load of substitutions on around 65 minutes, so he only had 25 minutes, but did produced the best cross of the match when he chased a long ball, got to it because his pace is terrific and squared it low and hard to Okaka and it nearly produced a goal.

He has a very good first touch and looks to go forward with pace. He'll be an asset, but needs time to settle in before we see the best of him.

Yes, it was a great tribute. Moton's career started around the same time as GT's, so he was a good person to do this. There was no John Barnes in the walk around either.

Of the old faces, it was mainly the usual ones, but I've not seen Jan Lohman at one of these before, so it was good to see him as well as Dennis Booth. Pat Rice was there also. Of the others, from memory, we saw Sherwood, Bolton, Les Taylor, Coton, Tom Walley, Mooney, Wright and Smart, Johno, Page, Price, Terry and of course Watford's favourite son, Luther.
