    Underground, overground, Wombles scored three,
The Hornets of Hertfordshire we played crappy.
Making no use of the players we find,
Players that other teams have left behind.

Hornets arent organised, dont work as a team,
Hornets are overweight, not very lean.
    Underground, overground, Wombles scored three,
It's only a friendly.. but this takes the pee!

Lots of quick passing , good movement , didn't take our chances , poor defending .

Berghuis looked decent , as did Watson . Doucoure busy as usual.
Brice to see you Brice looked good going forward .
    Holebas excellent . MOTM

Capoue is not good enough to play the middle of the attacking 3 mids.
Amrabat , same old same old .
Okaka bossed by an 18 year old scholar CB.

    I'm fed up.

We've spent money, got inn a propa manager and we still can't beat football manager B.

Sick of this. Hopefully this is our lowest point and we can rise from this. But if doesn't look good.

Why does he insist of playing [insert formation] and playing [insert player name] in a role he's not used to when he's got a natural [insert position] sitting on the bench??!!!

God that felt good to say, I missed saying it.

Not a bad effort for pre-season. By the start of the new season you'll be in full flow.

First half was a bit dull. Wimbledon sat back and we didn't play quick enough to break them down. Wimbledon came out all guns blazing after half-time and caught us with our pants down and scored 2 goals in quick succession, not good enough concentration wise. Still, lacking match sharpness and what not.

Wimbledon continued to press, allowed us to find gaps in their defence and the game really opened up, everything after those 2 goals look good. Nice overlaps, nice switching of play. Berghuis looked dangerous and his set-pieces were on point, gave up to easy in the tackle and slow to track back at times. Amrabat put in a good shift like he's fighting for his place. Couple of a bad crosses, couple of good ones. Shocking corner.

Ben Watson and Doucoure looked great together (awwwwh!), I don't know if Watson should be sold or not now, easy to say he's not good enough when he hasn't played for 6 months, he looked good today. Bride Djedje, aside from his mistake that led to a goal, looked really decent. Take back everything I've said about him. Pretty fast and agile for a short and stocky fella, grabbed an assist after an overlap with Amrabat. See no reason why he can't get a place in the squad (other than having too many players), let's Femenia take a sport more regularly as a winger, his natural position.

Capoue... **** me. Awful in that #10 role. The three CM's swapping all game. When Capoue was in the middle or in the hole he was okay, but if he went forward, it took him 5 minutes to get back. Whilst Watson and Doucoure hauled ass to get back and cover him, when there should be 3 CM's when defending, not 2. I don't see Capoue getting a spot with that kind of work rate.

Success looked lost. Which is sad. Really hope he finds his feet. Okaka... players half his size were outmuscling him. Look like he was getting very frustrated. He better get used to that as a lone striker and adapt the way he plays.

Bad scoreline, but some football that was encouraging. They looked exhausted and like they needed a fresh side at half-time. Wimbledon fielded almost an entirely new side by the end of the game so definitely had a fresher team out there.

Is the consensus we need another striker? That's been my feeling for a while...

    nice review, thanks.

I like Watson. I think he was poorly treated by Mazzari. He is reliable and solid but I think Gino will off load him.

I think so, Okaka looked unable to cope as a lone striker. But we lacked a #10 to draw the defenders out give him space. But I wonder if he would have found that space if it was on a silver platter... [insert joke about his weight here]

Something in thus thread has jogged my mind to something I have thought for a while:

I'd have thought that the entire team should attend a pre-season whether they're injured or not picked. They can support their team mates to get a feel for style of play and what is expected of the team.

Similarly, in match day squads I.e. Cup games where the squad is rotated, players not picked should travel as support. If they lack form or motivation it would provide impetus to work harder to get into the team. Not being picked should not mean a day off.

Certainly the club captain should be ther to support all players in both cases - he may have been today, I don't know, it's not a pop at Deeney.

This is not necessarily aimed at this match as I don't know who was or wasn't there, I just know I wasn't (I know, I know, plastic)

Maybe others can enlighten me as to why this doesn't happen.
