He seems a similar kind of player to Cleverley - will be interesting to see if he's actually any better...

 

Im talking pre Sheff Wed Abdi. He plays sh1t for them on purpose because hes Watford through and through.

 

Would be very pleased with this.

Young, talented English player with huge resale value if he does well here, for a pretty low fee. Win win for me.

Also quite amazing that he is happy going to such a small club as Watford? Once they get relegated again they will be nailed on to drop back to League one in a season or two.

He will have to get used to regularly playing before 10-15,000 fans..

So, so true. The football landscape has gradually evolved over the last 10 years or so (perhaps more), and with the TV money now and the multitude of overseas players - location is one of the most important factors a club can have. The dinosaur fans of all the so called "sleeping giants" refuse to believe or accept that their clubs can be overtaken by "smaller" clubs purely because of their greater ground capacity or the fact that their club honours list reminds them that they were successful 30/40 years ago.

We've had a lot of bad luck over the years - but our proximity to London is now absolutely key in our recent success and growth, and is why the vast majority of todays players will prefer Watford over those "grim" cities up north. Your Manchesters and Liverpools will always be an exception - but you only need to look at Birmingham/Villa/Derby/Forest/Blackburn/Leeds/Wolves/Sunderland etc to see how the game is changing. They don't like it and will never accept it - but reading the sense of entitlement from fans of bloody Derby of all clubs is proof that their views of the modern game are now out of date. For want of a better phrase - the goal posts have now moved to our benefit and their detriment.

 

Not happy with this. More wasted money which could have been used to get some real gems like Pickford.

 

Since when were derby a big club? They've basically been div 2 / championship since the 70s apart from the odd stint here and there, what makes them any more special than any other yoyo club (like us)?

DCFC fans are complete t055er5. always have been. Away days were better at the baseball ground. I remember One cocky Ram getting a good slapping after Derby beat us 4-1 in the early nineties. They're up there with Leeds fans in my opinion

I voted in that DCFC poll to sell him in the hope of assuring their Board that it was the the right thing to sell him to the allegedly feeble Horns. I appreciate i might be delusionnal about my ability to influence pretty much anything.

I think Hughes is a great option for us and the kind of buy I would previously expected Muff to get. Excited.

 

Definitely a great signing especially for the reported fee of an initial £4.5mil.

Gino doesn't normally do HG players but when he does, he rips the other club off.

 

Probably another youngster who will be out on loan somewhere in 6 months time.
