http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...atford_boss_Mazzarri_holds_talks_with_Palace/ Oh please, please let this happen.
Talks have apparently broken down after the Palace Board asked if Walter wanted tea or coffee and he couldn't understand them.
It would be funny, can't see it though given their fondness for British managers. They're probably interviewing every man & his dog for the post, or in this case every man & his translator.
Yes I heard that after 5 minutes of mumbling with his translator the response came back that "He say, no. Cafu very good player but now too much old."
Gutted...would have been funny though. http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/...rial-vacancy/story-30377530-detail/story.html
I heard talks didn't take place because his limo driver pulled his hamstring, bus driver ruptured a cruciate ligament, tube driver was Janmaat's cousin and suffered seven career threatening niggles before reaching Bank, and the Tuk-tuk bloke turned out to be Igahlo on fitness training, and missed the venue by ten yards ending up in Brighton selling ice creams.
The front page was saying earlier that the most recent post on here was made by 'ignored member', which I thought was a good choice of name, but then I realised that it meant HB. Was quite amused to ponder what exactly was meant by 'ignored member' and wonder if it was anything to do with the negative posts.
Best line in that report is "the Croydon Advertiser understands that the initial contact from ten days ago has not been followed up". Can imagine a conversation just like this: "So Walter, what would attract you to the Palace job" "I choose this club because I like azzizzrahh." "Ok, great. Don't call us, we'll call you"
Less then 10 weeks to go before the start of the season and no manager onboard. If we were in that position, no doubt the club would be described as a basket case. They have had six managers (including caretaker managers) in the last five years, so our churn of managers is not that extraordinary either.
http://readcrystalpalace.com/2017/06/08/ex-premier-league-boss-rejects-palace-due-lack-ambition/ For Mazzarri a man who thinks 17th is acceptable, to complain about a club lacking ambition it must be in a bad way
Ah so now the reason becomes clear. He didn't fancy the step down to a lower level. http://readcrystalpalace.com/2017/06/08/ex-premier-league-boss-rejects-palace-due-lack-ambition/ I suppose after managing bigger, more glamorous clubs like Inter, Napoli and us, he didn't fancy an insignificant, championship-bound, shouty, two bob outfit like Palarse. Can't say I blame him. It was always going to be an ambitious move for them to lure a top manager like Mazzarri to somewhere like that. Perhaps Pardew is still available?
Yes, I love the fact Walt managed to insult Palace in turning them down. He may be sh1te and he may be villified in Horn Land but he still condescends Palace and is too good for them.
Off to Indonesia? http://m.topskor.id/detail/52839/Te...zzarri-Persib-Harus-Siapkan-Gaji-Rp-43-Miliar
Palace running out of targets - they might not not go too far wrong offering the job to the Fulham manager
Has this not happened yet? I have been praying very hard that Parrish takes so long that Walt is the only one left on the shelf! COYHs
It's going to be tough for them, time is running out and if Walter does go their then best of luck to them, in doing these things: 1. Developing a connection with their new manager, 2. Getting him to speak on MotD, 3. Trying to understand why none of their players are getting fit (due to injuries) as he sacked their head medic. 4. Wondering why their players can't be ar**ed just because they cannot understand his team talk. 5. Puzzled over his odd team selection and formations. 6. Crying when Watford beat them 4-0 home and away.
Palace miss out on another number 1 target, Ranieri is joining Nantes. At this rate they really do only have Hodgson, Dyche and Pellegrino left.
