Disagree, its fair criticism by TVOR.

WM tried to off load Doucoure on a season long loan because he didn't fancy him, he then refused to play him till he really had to, despite our lack of mobility and the number of injuries in midfield.

I don't see that Mazzari improved him, overlooked and underestimated him definitely.

The trouble is the headline doesn't appear to match the article and the comment made by Wally. Based on his initial he press conference question appears to have been, "Are Watford in a healthier position than they were this time last season?" (which is in the opening paragraph) rather than, "Who have you improved in your time at Watford?". It's a misleading clickbait headline.

I agree totally with this. When my boy was mascot for the Boro game we were given seats next to the dugout. All game Walter was exploding with frustration. Mainly at Troy. Lots of arm waving and shouting and not a lot of inspiring.

    Maybe my post wasn't clear.

It is aimed at those who merely look at the table or points at the expense of looking at how we are playing. For me, everything should be taken into account.

Not necessarily. If a team is badly managed either in football, or business, some members can shine through regardless - in spite of the poor management.

@zztop don't forget that Ginos office is based at the training ground so he gets to see everything that happens, how the players and manager interact, he gets to speak to the manager, coaching staff, players and Giraldi everyday.

True & I'm sure Wally's departure is down to an accumulation of different things not being right, not just our league position which is well below par for the squad & Gino's ambition's, as it was with QSF

If the 1881 need a flag for today's game, they are quite welcome to use this.

Unrealistic - WALL-E speaks better English, is well loved and has a proven ability to turn trash into something useful.

I know it's not the trend to find anything positive about Walter.. but i'd like to recall one moment from his time that's worth noting.
The moment when he crossed himself and seemed to show genuine emotion during the GT memorials.

You can see it in this clip at around 50 seconds (sorry sound quality not too good)

    Maybe he wasnt all bad?

'Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes: "It is important to speak English if you are a manager. They cannot pass on instructions to the players but he tried his best and we thank him for it.

"The club had to make a decision, and they did. The language didn't help him. We apologise for some of our mistakes, we can't just blame the manager.'

I think that about sums it up.

Pretty bizarre that it's still the language being hauled out. It's a terrible excuse for the club, as it shows they didn't even carry out the most basic test of their candidate. It's a poor excuse for Walter as really it means, in whatever way he chose, he is a poor communicator.

Next candidate should do oral and written English GSCE paper. Would have the added bonus of eliminating Ian Holloway from the off.

No surprise that Gomes is bang on with that one.

Really wasn't a fan of the abuse Walter was getting today. It's been a frustrating season but the main aim for us was staying up and he did that. The cause of frustration was not only Walter, the players paid their part too as Troy also said in his post match comments on the loudspeaker.

Wally leaves under a cloud, but hopefully it will have a Silva lining. Despite Hull having seemingly given up today

Yes the cloud with the Silva lining is going to dump all over us on its journey towards the south coast.

It was clear months ago that Mazzarri wasn't up to the job, he should have gone in January.

Thought it was in quite poor taste & disrespectful that WM got the boos from a section of supporters today, surely we're better than that. Wonder what GT would have thought about it. WM was already leaving, kept us up & last game of the season against a very good Man City side. Everyone knows he wasn't the right fit for this club & it was right for him to go, but don't see any reason for the vindictiveness.

    Looking forward to next season.

I think some sections of the crowd wanted him sent off when the ref went over to speak t Walter.

No wonder the bloke rushed down the tunnel - very different to the Flores departure!

If WM had wanted a nice going away he shouldn't have given a not nice interview to Italian press and a nice one to the British press.
Then he follows that without putting any central defenders from the U23 or U18 teams on the bench or in the team playing a back three with Berhami & 2 wing backs. Compounding it with 2 keepers on the bench! I know with the injuries we had little chance today but he gave us no chance even before the start.

I agree with this......but he compounded it even more by not picking Deeney. The team today needed its captain out there. But because of his petty feud he didn't play him until the game was well and truly over.

The team has needed it's captain for weeks but because of his petty feud with the manager he hasn't played and quite rightly so.

Agree that any booing was disrespectful.

That being said however, some of the songs today and the "off off off" were some of the most entertaining and memorable elements of Walter's time here!

If the booing was disrespectful I suppose it's fair to say that his failure to grasp English and yesterday's team selection were also both disrespectful?

    Can't have it both ways.

He didn't wave when we won. Like fudge was he going to wave goodbye and say thanks. Even if he did I'm sure some of the players would've intentionally walked round as far away from him as possible on the lap of appreciation. What a shocking season.

I was hoping Nutty Walt would have taken the microphone from Gomes, turned to The Rookery and removing a tatty piece of paper from his pocket said,in a heartfelt tribute to Douglas Adams:

"So long and thanks for all the fags".
