    Behrami off in the summer?

From the Swiss press (via the Watford Observer):

    http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/15176597.Behrami__has_meetings__over_Sion_move/

Think he's been a good player for us but worried that his injury problems are getting a bit chronic - he seems to break down with hamstring problems quite regularly now. When he's on form, he can be our most important player but sadly he's not played that well over the course of the season. Think it could be the best move all round, hopefully we'll look for someone younger who can also pass the ball a bit to replace him.

Edit: Beaten to it by the other thread, mods please merge.

I love him and I love his song, seems like a fairly big character too.

Having said that as mentioned above probably suits all parties for him to move on in the summer. Can we get better/younger, Yes but it won’t be easy. Also think we should have two players in the squad who can play that break up play type role for back up/options.

We like everyone else need to find that holygrail of a player who can break up the play and take the ball/team forward up the pitch either carrying it themselves or good positive passing.

Good player but limited, an upgrade on his position would make the midfield much more dynamic. I say it time and time again but a trio of Behrami, Cleverley & Capoue is so boring, one player can and should be able to do all their jobs.

Do this Sion bloke's actions not constitute 'tapping up' anymore?

I suspect not if he has a "release clause" in his contract for the end of this season.

Behrami is good at breaking up play but that's it. He's awful on the ball and probably contributes to the centre backs hoofing it because he doesn't make space to receive the ball and even when he does he can't make even the most basic of passes.

Obviously not Romeu but someone like him would be ideal. Breaks up play but he and Davis started so many attacks for Southampton against us by collecting the ball from their centre backs and playing simple passes into their attacking players.

Think his legs have gone now, wouldn't be sad to see him go.

We will simply recall Hogg from his loan at Huddersfield.

I like his personality but been poor more times than not this season. Goes missing too often and as others have said, he is awful on the ball. Injury problems don't help either, I'm hoping we replace in the summer

A decent enough enforcer, but I would say he will be relatively easy to replace and possibly improve on.

I think that would be amazing but I don't really see why Napoli would let him go, particularly at the kind of price we'd be willing to pay; I know it's been said he's having a less successful second season, but he's still getting a lot of minutes and playing most games this year.

It is harder to play minus legs. Time to move him on.

    STOP PRESS!

The Watford Observer have actually done some of their own journalism, rather than just quoting articles they've seen on NewsNow. They've got hold of the FC Sion chairman and also spoken to a source at Watford and have managed to confirm that Sion are interested, Behrami has a break clause in his contract for this summer and that Mazzarri doesn't think he's up to another full-on season. Sounds like he'll probably be on his way...

Behrami will be Iron Like a Lion in Zion.

At least that's what Bob Marley said and he smoked weed whilst actually playing football at the same time , so he knows his sh1t.

Sad to see, I've always quite liked him. He is getting on a bit and as someone else said his kind of player isn't going to last for very much longer. Hopefully if we sell him on we can pick up someone who is better at playing the ball. Have to appreciate what he's done for the team though.
