The difference being that we've seen Ibe and Ritchie playing English football whereas we're still taking Pereyra on trust. Remember Fabb and Jurado!
Regardless, £15m for Ibe is nuts. He's worth half that, even in the current market. If course Pereyra may fail to adapt to the Prem, we shall see, but he's a class or three above Fabbs & probably Jurado
He is obviously a man who takes fashion seriously which makes sense with him signing with for Watford , what with the new Burtons store due to be opening in the Charter Place renovations .
It's hard to laugh when you consider how much we paid for Jurado, Suarez, Oluare and Berghuis. Ibe will more than likely play more games than the above combined
@WatfordFC NEWS: Roberto Pereyra has received his work permit and is available for #watfordfc's game with Arsenal on Saturday. I would have liked him to get half an hour tonight
Pereyra should shortly become the first visiting player to play twice at the new London Stadium. I fancy us to get our first league win of the season there.
Awesome. Now lets just wait to hear the news that he's picked up a knock in training and will be out for a couple of months.
Personal feeling is that would have been a massive risk. He would be an obvious target for a team of League 1 players smarting after losing 5-0 on Saturday to take their frustration out on.
Just bumping this to point out that it took him 10 minutes to do what Jurado failed to do in about 40 games.
It's easy to see what a classy footballer he is. It's the positions he takes up as well as his quick feet. Tucked that goal away lovely this afternoon, despite Capoue's best attempts to tackle him..
He was pure class. He was even the last line of defence at one point with his tracking back. Why he didn't start is anyone's guess, but for a debut, it's certainly up there with the best. Fantastic signing.
