...is an awful lot of money. I wonder if Newcastle will be the first "big" club to implode? http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2013/apr/18/premier-league-club-accounts-debt#data
Those figures just show how the financial "fair play" idea is just ridiculous. How can any financials be fair play when one team can afford to pay £162m in salaries, but it only be half of their turnover?
Bolton look more likely to go under than Newcastle. Higher debts, Championship status, Championship TV money.
Seems a bonkers contradiction, on the one hand supporters crowing when they go up about the extra money and then a few years later having huge unsustainable debts......funny old game
As my fiancée said to me yesterday, what we are doing seems wrong, or is like cheating, she can understand my explanations but still feels everyone has a right to be angry if we beat them. We are in short everything that is wrong with football and until we are 100s of millions in debt then, you know what, she is right, we are the anomaly. Everyone at her work has made comments about her partner being Watford fan with their misinformed views. So here is the plan, Deeney needs to bite someone on the pitch (he has form) we need to triple our wages at least, and get rid all the foreign mercenaries
As soon as somebody says to me, "what happens when all the loans go back" I just don't answer and blank the person. It gets so boring
I also get this question alot it used to annoy me but living in the West Midlands atleast it gives me an exscuse to talk to people about Watford.
Remember people who don't bother to actually look up the full details and connections between the clubs would just think they are like any other loan signing so you can understand why people would think they are just being shipped back to Italy and Spain.. Ofcourse one has only signed so far...are we certain the others will?
