No comment Cude. I must say after joining pre-Pozzos, and being 100% English, I'm not surprised I'm being sold. The Pozzo poison is spreading as far as the forums and this is just the start of their plan. In three years, there'll be no English-born human linked to Watford in any way. The scandalous sale of Joe Garner should have forced the penny to drop for even the most reluctant Watford fan. I've enjoyed my time here so far and I want this to continue despite the circumstances. Thanks.

Hamilton-Forbes- new deal look at loaning him out for a year. I think I'm a little less ruthless.
Almunia- 2013 - offer a new deal Hodson- 2014 - loan him out ****inson- 2014 - try to sell Eustace- 2013 - 1 more year Hall- 2013 - offer a new deal Yeates- 2013 - keep Hogg- 2014 - keep Deeney- 2013 - offer a new deal Iwelumo- 2013 - try to sell Forsyth- 2014 - loan out Doyley- 2013 - offer a new deal Jenkins- 2014 - loan out McGinn- 2013 - new deal depends on whether he performs at shrewsbury Murray- 2017 - loan him out Bennett- 2013 - try to sell Buaben- 2013 - loan out Mingoia- 2013 - try to sell Whichelow- 2013 -try to sell Assombalonga- 2013 - offer a new deal Smith- 2016 - keep Thompson- 2014 - loan him out Bond- 2013 - offer a new deal Hoban- 2017 - keep Tumwa- 2013 - loan out Nosworthy- 2014 - keep as cover, if he's not happy with that then sell Bonham- 2013 - loan out Hamilton-Forbes- 2013 - loan out
Almunia- 2013 - offer a new deal Hodson- 2014 - Keep just in case, but let him go after next season if nothing happens. ****inson- 2014 - Loan then release Eustace- 2013 - Keep with addition of coaching role Hall- 2013 - Offer one-year contract with option of an extra year Yeates- 2013 - Offer one-year contract with option of an extra year Hogg- 2014 - Keep Deeney- 2013 - Offer one-year contract with option of an extra year Iwelumo- 2013 - Loan until end of season or release now Forsyth- 2014 - Look to sell Doyley- 2013 - Offer ten-year contract with addition of ball boy role - as long as he's tied down Jenkins- 2014 - Look to sell. I honestly forget this guy exists sometimes. McGinn- 2013 - We can activate an extra year if we choose Murray- 2017 - Send him on loan to Brentford until he realises his future lies in League One unless he picks himself back up. Bennett- 2013 - Why is he still here? Buaben- 2013 - A hard one - Zola apparently rates him. I don't imagine we'd miss him that much. Loan out and let his contract run out from there. Mingoia- 2013 - Let go Whichelow- 2013 -Let go Assombalonga- 2013 - Offer a new contract until 2016 Smith- 2016 - Loan out for experience Thompson- 2014 - Loan him out for now. I guess because I haven't really seen much of them. They're contracted up until the end of this season and I'm not sure I can imagine either of them doing anything ground-breaking in the squad we have now.
I think they are around 18 or something so it wouldnt cost us much to keep them, just loan them out for a few seasons and see how they do
When do most clubs offer contracts to players in the final year usually? Just wondering how late they leave it
Normally depends on the player. If they're old or have a history with injuries then they'd normally leave it as late as possible. If they're playing well or have a lot of potential then normally they'd try and sort it a bit earlier. Which players is it you're wondering about?
Well there's a lot of older ones like Eustace and Hall, so I understand that, I'm surprised Doyley hasn't been offered one yet, and even Yeates although there are rumours other clubs want him (well, maybe they have and we just dont know). Then theres a few young ones, thought Assombalonga would have got one by now but I reckon Tumwa and Hamilton-Forbes will get assessed towards the end of the season. Most people like Mingoia, Bennett, etc will all probably leave then theres the ones like McGinn and Buaben and they are hard to call. I think the only surprising ones are Almunia, Doyley and Assombalonga
Have to remember that we're in a pretty good position to get promoted - they may be waiting to see what division we'll be in before offering new contracts. As much as we all love Doyley and Eustace, and have come to appreciate Yeates, there's every chance that if we go up the Pozzos may decide to let them leave at the end of their contracts and use the spaces they leave in the squad to bring in some more 'Premier League' players. Saying this, though, I still think Doyley would be an asset in a Premier League squad, and Eustace is a fantastic example to younger players. I'm not so sure he'd get offered a coaching contract anymore, though - he doesn't have enough experience playing how Zola wants to the team to play. Also, we don't know for sure that they haven't been offered contracts - it's not like any of them are prolific Twitter users like Deeney so we'd struggle to find out if the likes of Almunia and Lloyd have been without confirmation from the club. Oh, and Assombalonga has got one - extended until the end of 2013/14 with the option of an extra year: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20988245
Not sure how I missed the Assombalonga one but atleast he has one now. Yea, wasn't thinking about the Premiership so makes a bit more sense we are holding off a bit now
Out of that list as of today there's 13 for me that need to stay, which is good as it allows for the loanings to sign to create an amazing small squad
I'm not sure he'll get a new contract. I have big doubts over his fitness - I don't think we'd have signed Briggs if they thought he'd be able to play much of a part towards the end of this season. He's definitely good enough but that's useless if we can't ever use him! If we're still in the Championship he may get another year, but almost definitely not if we're promoted.
