MonicaV, i must correct you: "you" look with suspicion the move to purchase WFC! not every udinese supporter has the same opinion on that. Personally i believe is part of the economic and pretty straightforward "colonization" of the pozzo soccer interests accross europe. With so many young soccerplayers on payroll, another relatively cheap-to-buy farm team (apologizes here to the WFC folk!) is necessary and welcome!
a word to WFC people here: goal is to reach teh premier league as fast as possible taking into account the budget. Dont know who are the local partners (if any) of pozzo's in UK, but on the field, just expect a row of young players coming from all around the world's corners (lot of them with EU passport, of course). Hope you will enjoy it!
That maybe true initially, but there could be a swing away from Udinese to Watford over time, as it is far more lucrative in the English Premier league. Basically I cannot see why all three teams can live in harmony. We all play in different countires, with different cultures. The only time there could be a problem, is if all three played in the same European competition. Now what a lovely problem to have.
Hello Udinese fans, Thankyou for your politeness and information. Admin, how about a section underneath the Graham Taylor Stand, where Udinese fans could talk about their teams, so we can attract some more of their fans and take an interest in how they are doing. Just an idea Thanks again Udinese fans!! This takeover isn't even done yet :L
right! and how amazing, there is already people from udine coming here & putting warnings and souspicious about the whole transaction! I believe for WFC the new ownership can bring only benefits on the short-medium term. On a long run, well, will discuss when you are getting there...
Anyone fancy a mini european friendly tournement with Watford, Udinese and Granada? In Italy of course....
the swing away trom Udinese to Watford (or to Granada) is indeed one thing that some among us fear. Second item you raised, european competitions, is also an issue. And the reply is, the more and more clear, that pozzo's are not primarly interested in running soccer teams, but in the added value (between buy and sell) of the soccerplayers they own. In other words, pozzos are to be seen as an holding which controls ownership of soccerplayers in view of a capital gains. The ownership of teams is necessary at this stage, but not anymore later on. That's only my view, of course.
on the other hand you may also want to visit one of our forums (you are welcome!): www.fuarceudin.net
Are udinese ticket prices good? I like my cheap watford tickets, half the reason that attracted me to watch us in the first place.
Here's a question. Are Udinese fans worried that because the Premier League has more financial rewards than Serie A, that any promotion for Watford could result in Udinese becoming a lesser concern and perhaps even a 'feeder club' for Watford?
The Pozzo Cup instead of the Emirates Cup. Could be rotated from Italy/Spain/England (we should have a fourth stand by the 3rd year)
That's a very good question. How much revenue is there from TV in Italy and Spain compared to the Premiership?
I would love this, purely to see Antonio Di Natale (one of my favourite players in the world) against Watford. Shame he will have retired before it came here!
Yes It's club owned, currently undergoing redevelopment in two corners and we are awaiting a new East side, which is currently closed. The pitch is being relaid at the moment.
Good morning, i'm Kurtz from Udine. Sorry for my poor english, i hope that you can understand what i write. Udineseblog is not an official fansite of Udinese Calcio. Udineseblog is a blog of a small newspaper in Udine. Monica V has her ideas, other people in Udine not have the same ideas about Pozzo's Family. I'm sorry for my english, and good morning.
Good morning Kurtz and welcome. We are happy to receive all views from Udinese fans, any information is good for us today.
This is a style Watford are used to. We have been able to survive as a football club by buying young English players for small fees, and selling them on for big profits. What is different in England, compared to Spain and Italy, is that the big clubs will pay a very large amount of money for English players. Andy Carroll transferred to Liverpool for 43m Euros! So Pozzo probably feels that he can make a lot of money from producing young players at Watford
The cost of the annual subscription is one of the lowest in Italy because Pozzo is trying everything to have more supporters at the stadium. The cost of the single match is like in the other stadium. How much it costs for you to see a match, last year?
as previously replied, some of us fear the switch of focus from Udine to other more appeling teams and leagues...not only Premier League but also Spanish Liga for Granada. We are a relatively small (in terms of viewers) in Italy with approx 13,000 supporters (not all attending the matches)...when you make a comparaison with Granada...well...i believe it s a matter of time....Moreover, the coming complete takeover of Gino Pozzo (who lives in Spain) of udinese operations from the father (gianpaolo, in his seventies) will for sure accelerate the focus of the pozzos on other teams than Udinese. yes guys, you are faced now with one of the few soccer owner that makes money out of it...rare, but he exists!
Good morning Kurtz, your English is clear and understandable, do not worry. Thanks for your info, what is your personal opinion of Pozzo? You must have been pleased with last season?
Do not be clever ... If you want YOUR opinions well outside, lifetime, but uses the first person singular and not plural. Not something you want to pull concrete instead of others. PS: I put it in Italian for your convenience because your English seems lame.
Sums us up really Watford going places, making friends in Spain and Italy L%$&n Town, staying in the gutter, hated by us, york, oxford, mansfield and ignored by everyone else.
