About to be installed. We're just testing it for the first week or 2, so don't get your knickers all twisted up just yet .
Absolutely, but please remember this is in a testing phase. Points are gained for using the forum, gain enough points and you move up to the next level. While we test the plug in, the vbookie points are still separate. If we all like this system, then you will be able to gamble the points.
i think it will have a novelty value for a few weeks then die off. Unless points can be turned into V cash

From the Author of VB-Experience: vBExperience is your free feature packaged solution for motivating your users. vBExperience is an advanced and highly customizable level/promotion and activity measure system with awards, achievements, promotions and activities. It will calculate an activity and experience score for every user based on their activites on the forum. Now your users will see how their level is increasing by participating on your forum. Communities are not only defined by post count, they need much more parameters: Are the postings the user creates helpful? Are his threads frequently read? Does the user participate on the community by posting pictures, attachments, leaving visitor messages, tagging threads? How can the user's activitiy be compared to others? All this can be answered with this mod. Additionally your users get awards and collect achievements for beeing active on your board.
I have the 1 year award but on my experience 'profile' it says I've only been a member for 266 days. Also, my activity is 0% for the last month. Do I not exist?
I'm just posting here to see what all these graph thingys are on the left under my username. I see I'm level 24, is this good? Does it mean I'm a success in life?
That's a bit of a glitch. To stop myself and the early registering users getting shedloads of points for days registered, (it was 1 point per day), I dropped it to 0.5 points per day registered. Now when the software adds up the points and does its calculations, it seems to take the number of days registered from the points when making awards rather than actual days. I'll reset it to 1 point per day before the trial ends. I don't understand how the activity works either. I'll look into it.
Activity: The system calculates the activity (week, month and also a custom defined datespan, 60) by counting the actions a user has done. An action can be a post, a new thread, rating, download, etc... The activity bars will be filled during the first weeks. This has changed from earlier versions where just postings, visitor- and group messages have been counted.
Ha, a very apt award. Is it handed out by you or by the system automatically? If it's the latter both you and meister should be ahead of me at least... I was a moderator on here until about 2 years ago. Infractions are basically yellow/red cards given by moderators for rule breaches by users - they're not new and not normally visible to regular users.
To those posting to see their own graph- click experience in the red bar at the top and it will open a whole new area with stats-a-plenty. You can start to see the science behind it!
Levels are based on points, points are based on forum activity. To get to the next level you need to get more points, which means more use of the forum to gain those points. For most forums this would be the end of it. However, with this place we will soon be integrating the points with the VBookie so you can gamble those points with the aim being to move up through the levels, (with the risk of dropping if you lose those points). There is also the possiblity to offer points for arcade high scores, (but I need to look more into that). Level 100 is the holy grail, (or get a higher level than me or Meister). At the moment there is no bonus to being a on higher level except bragging rights, but that might change soon .
