    Hi
Names Dave,I've been a Watford supporter since 1973,really have seen the bad times and good times, club has recently changed beyond recognition which i think is a great thing, lovely stadium, premier league, owners who have the clubs best interest at heart,i must admit i miss the old,old days, standing as a kid on a muddy rookery bank getting a cup of weak bovril from the tea shed then paying the extra 25p to go sit in the shrodells stand, thru the brilliant rise thru the leagues under taylor and Elton, the disenchantment of the Jack Petchey years and beyond, and now feeling incredibly proud of where the club stands today, come on you Horns.

Good to hear Mooby. Shame the football wasn't up to much, but glad you enjoyed the experience.

Greetings. 25p seems a bit steep to be honest, unless you got a prawn sandwich thrown in:]] I think everyone is amazed at how we've come on from even a couple of years ago with Safe gate and administration threats. It's sometimes easy to forget how lucky we are at the moment.

Hi, Name's Steve, bit late introducing, been here since last November, but maybe better late than never.
My first games, the odd occasion with my Dad standing on the stony bend between the Rookery and Shrodells stands. Don't remember those matches that well but the player that does stick in my mind was Tommy harmer, who, if I remember correctly, we bought from Spurs, but he soon moved on to Chelsea.
First game I attended on my own, and which led to me having a life long experience as a Watford fan was the 1966/67 January 3rd round cup match at home to Liverpool (0-0) and after that I attended the rest of that seasons home games.
Used to live at Oxhey in those days and used to walk to the matches through Oxhey Park. Moved to Leighton Buzzard October 1981 but still attended all home (Season Ticket holder) and most away matches.
Up to date now and have a season ticket in SEJ stand and also only missed two away matches last season, so I hope you folks on here will consider me to be a "Proper Supporter".

Hi, My name is Mario. I'm just arrived in London from Italy. I like Mazzarri (ex Naples coach), so this year I'll support Watford! I would like to attend a match at your beautiful stadium!

    Hello all,

My name is Jake, I'm a pretty new fan from San Diego, California. I only quite recently got into English soccer (I'll call it football on these boards from now on, I swear), mostly because of John Green's sponsorship of AFC Wimbledon but also due to a bit of prodding from a history teacher who's an enthusiastic Manchester United fan. I've never lived in the UK, but my dad is from southeast Bucks and I've been back to visit family. Since the closest team to my family's home is Watford (Wycombe Wanderers being a frighteningly close second), I decided to pick up the black and gold and become a Hornets fan. Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of attending a Watford match, due to my most recent visit being in the summer. Hopefully someday I'll get to experience a match, but for now I'll have to settle for ordering a kit online and waking up at 7 am to stream the Saturday games. I'm pleased to finally meet some fellow Hornets!

Welcome to the forum, as far as I know you have at least two reasonably near by fellow American Hornet fans on this forum: -

PFCFitz,Yellow Army; who lives in LA and another who is a Mexican Boarder Guard, who's forum name escapes me at present; both of whom I have met over here and been to matches with. There are quite a few others, in places like Texas and New York as well as other parts of the USA.

Are you a colonial then, IBB, or just a tennis star?

(I say "just" a tennis star, but I believe becoming a tennis star is quite difficult. Unlike managing a football team, which is, as we all know, as easy as falling off a log.)

    Hi I'm Michael

Now living on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. I have been supporting and following the Golden Boys, for many years. Even before Sir EJ took over. Stewart Scullion was my hero, I didn't like the bad tempered Barry Endean. We could play like champions of the world one day and woeful the next. Actually we could do it throughout the match, nothings changed.

    Hello from Minnesota!

It's currently -22 degrees Celsius so I'm hoping the match will today will help me forget that I live in Siberia for a couple hours. I'm new here but I've supported Watford since the Jay DeMerit days, as my mom grew up down the road from him in Wisconsin and used to babysit him. Not many people in rural Minnesota can talk soccer/football, let alone Watford, so I'm glad i found this site!

I'm enjoying this premier league thing, and look forward to learning more about Watford FC.

We have a fair few American fans on here already so welcome to the clan!

Manchester City are one of the biggest clubs in the Premiership and one of the favourites to win the title, so despite our defeat tonight, it was not too bad of a result.

In general most of the people on here are OK, but we do have a few "Jerks" you'll soon work out who they are, but don't be put off by them, and now you have started posting keep it going, you are very welcome!

    Hmm..

Didn't see this. Quite a "worldy" collection here.

I can safely say i've lived in or around Watford for most of my life, currently based in Hemel Hempstead.

Had a ST a few years back before work commitments overtook my weekends, and stopped going. Changed jobs and have been able to get back into it with the helps of a few friends. Done a few home and a few away games so far this season, and as a few above, it's easy to read and not contribute on here, so have lurked a couple weeks myself (mostly at work).

Good to meet you all, interested with some of the views so far.

    Afternoon all,
My name's Laramie, I'm a lifelong Seattle Sounders supporter and a fairly new, albeit passionate, Watford fan. Most of the other English Football fans I've met in America support top 4 teams (or Liverpool) but I love an underdog and fell in love with the Hornets after watching video of the players celebrating with the fans upon finding out they'd been promoted in 2015. Since then I've been supporting Watford from afar; I haven't made it to a match yet but I do find myself waking up at 6am (or 5, or 3:30) on Saturdays to watch thanks to being 8 hours behind England and have rarely missed a game this season or last.
Next year I'll be going to uni in Newcastle and I'm hoping to make it down to the Vic once or twice, and I'll certainly be at every away match in Newcastle if they end up in the same league. I hope they'll meet in the Premiere League, but I'm not much of an optimist when it comes to football so I'm prepared to cheer on Watford in the Championship.

Welcome! I've been to Seattle before and I think it's an amazing city. I'm a big coffee drinker too, which helps! Newcastle is also a really nice city, so I think you'll have a great time. What are you studying there? I have a friend who also did an exchange abroad at Newcastle Uni (he's from Atlanta) and he couldn't recommend it highly enough.

    Hello all
Lurked for ages, so thought now's as good a time as any to join after the removal of one of the least popular managers/head coaches I can remember at the club. Bit about me - started watching in 86 so caught the very end of sir GT's first reign, which made his return and successive promotions in the late 90's all the more special. Delighted with what the Pozzos have done with the club, although I think it's fair to say that the one area they need to improve in is their choice of head coach. I really hope they get this next appointment right.

Having read a lot of messages on here - I believe (just my opinion) that the current players are a lot better than what we're seeing and wholesale changes aren't required, just a few quality additions. For me, it's a miracle we've survived this season under Wally as it's been clear for quite some time that the players can't stand him and the atmosphere behind the scenes has been toxic. Under the right coach, I think we could have been top 8 although I accept plenty of other teams probably thought/think the same.

Not sure what to expect Sunday - either the weight of the world lifted and the players put on a great show against a decent side - or a repeat of Huddersfield a few years back, only worse because it's Citeh who may need to get a result. Lets hope it's the former!
