Yes, today its roughly 2 thirds German speaking, 1 third Italian speaking but there is a small minority which speaks an old language called Ladin. In that particular area (Val Gardena) South Tyrol is trilingual. In other parts German-Italian bilingual.

People are quite happy because the province is wealthy due to tourism and enjoys a lot of special rights through autonomy.

They got a very good ice hockey team, which plays in the Alpine League which is an international League with mainly Austrian teams. But haven't got a proper football team as far as I know... Shame
    ;)

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick note to introduce myself a little. I've been a Hornet for about 40 years and on forums for about 8 of those years. I thought I'd join this one and see how things went. I see a few names I know and perhaps there are others with different names now who I've come across before.

Anyway, looking forward to this. It looks like a busy forum, which is great.

I'll be seeing you on the boards.

    All the best,

    ratrap

Why is it when we play L*T*N do we always lose on and off the pitch when we are in a higher league than them? Is it because we play in hi-vis shirts? I was with a couple of old school mates when we played them a few years ago and they were full of bluster about meeting up with L*T*N fans but when L*T*N turned up my mates went very quiet. I don't get to go much but is it always like that? Brilliant atmosphere but apparently there's always a good atmosphere with L*T*N games. And I read today that their away following is 1,246 whereas ours is far fewer than 1,000. Why is this when we are in a higher league than them? Have I made a lifetime mistake in supporting us? There are a couple of Chelsea fans wher I work and they don't even recognize us as a challenge. But they said going to Chelsea V. L*T*N games was always when they had to be on top form. I don't think they were talking about the actual football though.

    Hi all,
New to this site, but I have been supporting Watford since 1985. First game was an FA cup tie against Port Vale. Coton in goal, Trevor Senior scoring with me under the scoreboard. I lived in Hemel for 17 years, currently in MK with work, though looking to move a bit closer to watford at some point. That won't be cheap !

I love this club. Exciting times, one game at a time and we'll see....
    That's me,
    Cheers
    Dave.

    Hi everyone,

My name is Marko and I came from Serbia where Mr. Jokanovic came from. I am big fan of FC Partizan Belgrade and two years ago when Zola was taking charged of Watford i started to watch WAFC games.
Jokanovic was Partizan coach, we play very good in that time. I dont want to type roman here, just what I want is promotion to PL. I hope Jokanovic can promote us!!!

Watford has a lot of fans from Serbia, they started to watch games when Jokanovic took charges.

Sorry for mistakes, my English isnt perfect.

Mako, I am travelling to Serbia this summer and wondering when your football season starts? Would love to catch a game!

Serbian Super League (first league) starting 20.-25. August. But early in July we have qualifications for Champions League or League Europe.
In which city you will come? If you have time, please watch Partizan game, our fans are one of the most famous over the world. Just type on YouTube 'Grobari madness' you will see why I told you.
Thanks, I like English language and learning it since I was 9. Now I have 20 years.

Поздрав Марко! Hello Marko. I'm glad to see more WFC fans from Serbia. My name is Milorad and I am fan of WFC from 1999/2000 season, first season in Pl. This year WFC have best squad for the last 15 years and I hope that we will get promoted.
And btw Red Star Belgrade is the biggest club in Serbia and ex Yugoslavia. ;-)

Hi Milorad, I thought that i would be only fan from Serbia but I'm glad I'm not only one here.
About our clubs, yes I admin that Red Star is the biggest club in Serbia by there history. But who cares about history? I only watch in front and hope that will come better days for our two biggest club in country.

Anyway, do you know where I can buy jersey?

Thanks for the info! I'll be driving through Serbia from Bosnia & Herzegovina but I think we will be missing Belgrade and heading to Nis (we are exiting Serbia to Bulgaria so this suits our route better). Are there any big clubs in Nis?

  24. Mako

Yes, by history one big club called Radnički Ni*. They have new stadium, but like every club in Serbia they have financial problems. I hope that they will survive in Super League for next season.

Hello, I'm HoveHornet :smile:some of you on here may know HappyHornet who is my sister! I've been reading this forum for a long time, but with all of the excitement at the top of the league I can't stay off here any longer! Have not been a fan as long as my sister (late developer into football!) but I'm just as passionate. Live in Hove - name gave it away I guess. I look forward to contributing on here and finally being able to see why my sister spends so much time on her iPad!!!

Hi all, I'm Greg. As you might have guessed from my name, I'm from Ruislip but have lived abroad most of my life (UAE, USA, China, Africa). Finally back in the UK as of a few months back.

I have to admit, I'm a lifelong Liverpool supporter (my dad's a red) and have been Liverpool-mad since the mid-90s (hence the mention of John Barnes in my username). Used to come back to the UK every Christmas and summer as a kid, but since I was only ever back for a couple of weeks at a time, it wasn't always easy to go and watch Liverpool. Started going to Vicarage Road with my uncle during my twice-annual visits from around 2005 until he became ill in 2008 and from that time on I found myself following Watford results from afar, even when back in the States over the last few years.

Moved back to the UK a few months ago and I've tried to watch as much live football as I can, across all levels, from the Premiership to the 8th tier, but I absolutely love going to Vicarage Road to watch the 'Orns. Been several times in the last 2-3 months and absolutely loving it (was there for the Reading and Boro wins for instance). I'm going back tomorrow to watch the Brum match and I can't bloomin' wait.

Anyway, it's been nice getting the chance to introduce myself to everybody. Hope the fact I'm not a lifelong, die-hard Hornet doesn't go against me, but you seem like a lovely welcoming bunch. It's in Watford's hands as of tonight, I'd be as happy as anyone to see them back in the Prem!

    Hey guys

Joined the forum after being on here for past few months reading the discussions that take place and then found out that a good friend of mine is on this forum.

    What's up Rochdale away!

Anyway been a watford fan for the past 25years of my life but moved to America in 2010 and haven't been able to be at the Vic since. Was going to go to the watford wolves game in December last year, but couldn't get a ticket so watched it on sky instead and the way we played that evening I'm glad I didn't go because that was shocking!

Anyway it's great to join you guys and I look forward to contributing to this forum.

Hello, thought I'd introduce myself, I.m Nathan been A Watford supporter about 20 years around 1985 when I lived in Northwood. Was lucky enough to get behind the scenes as my old man worked with the youth and reserve teams under Graham Taylor and Dave Bassett. I moved up north but always stayed loyal following the Orn's up and down the leagues and across the country. I'm now an Expat out in Alberta Canada and can't wait for this seasons premier league adventure to get underway
