Oh, and a Chargers player was filmed peeing on the sidelines in what is clearly the death knell of their season.
Tebow has got that magic! Love the hate for him. Lady luck seems to be conspiring against the Texans. Another QB down and probably out for the season after Leinart joins Schuab on the injured list. Rookie QB for the play-offs! Currently stood in a large line to get tickets for the UH Cougars championship game this coming weekend. Typically it's about the coldest i've ever known TX to have been. It's cold as hell. GO COOGS!
Those Houston's are killing it! It's been a long long time since they were a top 25 team, if I recall correctly.
Probably even longer since they were top 10! Could be in line for a bowl appearance if they win on Saturday, which would be great for the school. Texans making the play-offs for the first time, Dynamo making the MLS Cup final and Rockets unbeaten this season. Houston sports have taken a turn for the better since my arrival in town!
A like what is sure to happen with Tebow, the luck runs out. UH got absolutely whipped on Saturday. We just didn't show up. The pressure got to the guys I think. All the money involved etc. Keenum was missing passes he's been making with his eyes closed all season. We dropped a bunch of catches with receivers wide open and nothing but green grass ahead of them. Defense missed so many tackles it was unreal. Fair play to So Miss though, they came with nothing to lose and a whole load of enthusiasm that translated into a brilliant win. Man, I'm still disappointed when I think about it now. The Coogs of Saturday were so far away from the guys who have been getting it done all season. Such a gutting defeat. Off to the Big East we shall go. Oh, and BCS sucks. But at least the Texans won again
Hard to say. Depends on which Houston shows up. If they show up with something to prove after last weekend then I fancy UH. But if their confidence is shot after Saturday then Penn should walk it. Disappointingly I'll be back in England, otherwise I'd have made the trip up to Dallas.
That's about my feelings as well. Hopefull our players are a little charged up for the game. We finished 4th in the big ten but got picked by the 7th bowl. Hopefully getting bypassed gets them up for this, instead of making them not care.
As a student athlete at Penn St, I just can't imagine how the end of this year has been for you, Ben. Enough has been said about it all, but I just wants to let you know that I appreciate how difficult it must be there now. I haven't really been following Penn State's actual team performance on the field but I wish them to have a dignified and honorable end to the season, and hope the next chapter can begin with a fresh slate, if I may mix my metaphors. That said, I hope the exciting Cougars show up and dazzle us. That team has been amazing. I caught a game early in the season and they had me saying to myself Wow! Are these guys for real or are their opponents just terrible? I guess they are for real... Exciting stuff, eh Lukey? You stepped into Houston at a moment very much like the 2006 WFC era, earning promotion to the Prem and all. The comparison is actually quite strong given WFC and Houston's typical form. You going home for vacation or did Homeland Security catch up with you finally?
No doubt. It feels like a good time to be part of the school. The performance of the football team this season has really raised the profile of the school. Hopefully they've been building a program, as opposed to just one team. Houston is one of the biggest recruiting cities in the nation, if they can persuade a few more kids to pick UH over places like Texas and A&M then they could have some real long term success. The potential good thing about losing at the weekend is that the rumors around Sumlin have died down a bit. Hopefully Aggies went off him after Saturday. Just going home a quick visit over the holidays. Will hopefully be able to sneak a WFC game in while I'm home. Any plans yourself this festive season my friend?
Yes TEBOW!!!!!! Haha! I love how his run just keeps on going. I love the hate it produces. What a guy. Surely NE will put a stop to his shenanigans!? Surely?! Another good win for the Texans yesterday, getting it done right on the clock and clinching the division. Gotta feel as though eventually the injuries will finally take their toll and they'll run out of steam. But until it happens, Houston is going to enjoy their first run to the post-season. In classic American-style (at least how I envision American sports), loads of people were outside the Texans mega-store this morning awaiting the opening in order to purchase merchandise.
American football fans are total front runners...it explains the popularity of Man Utd here, too. Reality is now indistinguishable from Tim Tebow fan fiction.
I wish what will happen now is, we win the next couple of games, The Cowboys and Giants will struggle, there will be a glimmer of up, but we will fall short, and end up with a mid-round pick.
Fair play to the Texans, they are the best team in the AFC South. I liked how the Titans gave the Saints a decent run for their money on Sunday, and could have clinched the game even with Locker in at QB. Sitting him early seems to have taken a bit of the pressure off, something I bet Blaine Gabbert would like.
Texans, Packers and TEBOW all lose. Damn. A terrible day for good in the everlasting battle against evil.
After such promising signs recently, the Titans lose to the Colts. Of all teams, the Colts. A black day indeed...
I would be, but they are already eliminated from the playoffs, and are just playing their way out of a decent draft choice.
Keenum did to Penn State what he was supposed to do to So Miss. Didn't watch the game as I was back in England, but it sounded like the offense actually showed up this time round. Bad luck SOB. The only way is up for you guys after this season.
Couldn't pick a more epic way to win if they tried. Really though Steelers were going to win it when they moved into field-goal range, until the Big Ben fumble. Loving the reaction from the experts who hate to see him prosper.
They've had a Cinderella run, but the Ravens are no mean stepsister. They are going to pound the living hell out of the Texans!
Too much to ask from a rookie 5th round QB. Still, it's great for the city to have the team doing well for once.
