Harsh? Did keep them up but didn't have the best of seasons: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/8674605.stm
kept them up...but nearly put them down. its the glass half empty view that id expect from outspoken higher ups now at west ham.
your an idiot if you think that , filled the team full of 2nd rate mercenaries , if he didnt have parker , he`d have taken them down
The proper name for TBI (The Bald Italian) is now uncensored so those that wish to give him a name check are able to. I however can not bring myself to type the name of that ferret faced money grabbing, dodgy jumper wearing individual.
Hes worth a punt but out of our league I think. This has got the new board written all over it. From the start theyve had big ambitions for not West Ham but Upton Park. Prize bit of land in Larndarn Tarn. Zolas a decent bloke I reckon, hes best of out of it.
He's been unlucky to get sacked. Problem is West ham think that they are a bigger better club than they actually are. You know won the world cup for us an' all that. I agree Zola is best off out of it
Not sure he's been 'unlucky' to get sacked. He only won 8 league games all season! He didn't spend much on transfers though.
Maybe unlucky is the wrong word, but i reckon if he had been given more time he would have become a good manager. On second thought.... Probably be better if it doesn't happen at West Ham
He did well in the first season, and then sold his best players and wasn't given funding to bring anyone else in. Wet Spam, as folkstone 'orn says, think they are a bigger club than they are. They have only just avoided relegation for most of the last 10 years.
Very very naughty of West Ham. They sacked him for gross misconduct because of an, (innocent), interview he gave, thus saving themselves a £1.9 million payout. Zola will take them to a tribunal and win, so all they've done is make enemies. Zola is a decent man who tried to play football the right way whilst his best players were sold beneath him, (and still kept them up), the way they've got rid of him is a disgrace in my book.
I read about that, was genuinely surprised. Though thinking back, it is Gold/Sullivan so maybe I shouldn't.
Don't know if he still has yet to pass his qualifictions yet. I know he didn;t have the badges when he first joined them. I can not see him managing in this country again to be honest, had a good enough squad to finisg higher than 4th from bottom. Shabily treated by the board though.
I agree they should've finished higher but he did have a lot of meddling going on above him which would be unsettling at any level. I can see him getting a job in Italy somewhere, perhaps at a former club or something.
