I've been watching My Family with Robert Lyndsay.

This seems to have been going on for ever and I can't understand how it keeps getting made.

I watch it out of morbid fascination. And because Janie would so get it.

It's abysmal though. It must cost money to make, so I can't beleive it's funded every season.

The BBC don't know that I watch it.

I watch it with the curtains drawn and the lights off, so nobody can find out.

More specifically, it continues to get made because it continues to earn revenue through either advertising sales and/or media distribution (DVD, streaming).

Just like the foosball, it's all about the money...

I don't have SKY in the living room , have it in the back room.

I will get it swapped around one day when I can be bothered.

Actually, it's on the BBC, so it's precisely because it doesn't need to generate revenue that it survives. ITV would have cut My Family, Grown Ups and Two Pints Of Lager and a Packet of Crisps years ago.

If you've never heard of the above, you needn't find out about them. Suffice it to say they are guileless shyte.

Nice...The Republicans are trying to slash ANY funding for the perceived to be 'librul' public broadcasting system here which makes some very interesting shows and informative broadcasts (National Public Radio and the NOVA series come first to mind), yet the BBC funds tv programs no one seems to have any interest in...

    Frustrating...

My Family is a British television comedy, created and initially co-written by Fred Barron, produced by DLT Entertainment and Rude Boy Productions, and broadcast by the BBC. Ten series have so far been broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom between 2000 and 2010, with Christmas specials broadcast from 2002 onwards. An eleventh series has been commissioned.[2][3][4] My Family was voted 24th in the BBC's "Britain's Best Sitcom" in 2004 and was the most watched sitcom in the United Kingdom in 2008.[5]

Set in Chiswick in west London, it stars Robert Lindsay as Ben Harper, Zoë Wanamaker as his wife Susan, and Kris Marshall, Daniela Denby-Ashe and Gabriel Thomson as their children, Nick, Janey and Michael. Since the show’s debut, several characters have left and, equally, several new characters have been introduced. The character of Janey left in 2002; however, she returned in 2004 and has continued to remain on the show since. Kris Marshall’s character, Nick, left in 2005 and has not returned. The character of Abi, as played by Siobhan Hayes, was introduced in 2002 and left in 2008. The characters of Roger and Alfie were introduced in 2003 and 2005, respectively, as played by Keiron Self and Rhodri Meilir.

The tenth series began airing on BBC One on 9 July 2010 and concluded on 27 August 2010. Two episodes from Series 10 are bonus episodes on the DVD
    .

Series 11 was jointly filmed with series 10 and is expected to air in the spring of 2011.

    Totally agree on Hogan's Heroes...

Yah, great Pads...made more Channa Masala last night, but my last batch was better. Tried dried chickpeas and though soaked for 24 hours, still came out a bit 'crisp'.

I've never seen Hogan's heroes, but if it's as good as Hogan Knows Best, I'll be all over it.
