What are your favourite TV series? I recently finished watching the first series of Prison Break, which is absolutely fantastic, probably the single best series I've ever seen.

I've never been a fan of Lost but Heroes is also great (well, the first series was), and I've heard good things about Supernatural.

I'm mainly just focusing on the big American blockbuster series here but feel free to include English shows, comedies etc.

I watch quite a lot of different shows but I don't think I could pick out a favourite, all of these are good IMO:

    Family Guy
    Heroes
    Chuck
    Lie To Me
    The Big Bang Theory
    Modern Family
The Office (both US and UK versions)

Prison Break series 1 was fantastic. One of the best TV series i've ever seen. Season 2, 3, 4 are good as well but not as good as series 1.

Watching Modern Family at the moment and thats hilarious.

Let me guess one of the reasons you watch it is because of Gloria?

The best American dramas are The Sopranos, 6 feet under and The Wire imo.

Comedy: Modern family as said is great.

Californication, can't recommend it highly enough, fantastic show.

Arrested Development, just about the best thing ever.

    Curb Your Enthusiasm, class.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, great as well.

Basically anything that HBO produces is Grade-A, bar of course Sex in the city.

    No janitor as well?

I've seen a whole load of episodes (most of them but not sure on the seasons) on TV when they are on. Haven't watched it in a few months and a mate who likes it said he doesn't think its that good now that JD is gone. I didn't know janitor was gone as well, both of them were hilarious and JD obviously made the show what it is.

For a long time i couldn't watch two and a half men because of the inane over the top canned laughter at every other sentence but i have now somehow learnt to block out the canned laughter and yes it is at times amusing.

The Wire is the single best television series EVER.

I'd also throw in Flight of the Conchords, which is pure genius.

One that hasnt been mentioned is Arrested Development, which is superb.

If you're talking about Old Skool, Father Ted.

    I mentioned AD. ;)

Have you seen The Sopranos? I think The Wire is fantastic but nothing comes close to how I felt in the last few episodes of the Sopranos, seeing Silvio like that in the last episode nearly had me in tears. :'(

I hate Thundercats - annoying, foreign cartoon crap
Hate Curb too. I assumed I'd love it as I watched every Seinfeld with glee. The writing's there, but the performance is dire in Curb.

    Nobody's mentioned Martial Law.
