He wouldn't know, I'm ravishing in real life I'm going to try and put something together but I feel recording it may be a problem. Any ideas?
thats what i was thinking have no clue about how i would record a section i have recording equipment for my music and stuff and my mic works well for speech as well as singing but i dont have a program where i can play and record the music through the same comp just confusing
You'll need a mic, recording software, a line-box to connect mic to computer and if you want to use music and your recording software doesn't incorporate i-tunes/direct mp3 playing then you'll need some form of pre-amp and your music will go through that into the line-box. There are probably simpler ways of doing it but this is how i will be setting mine up.
is it fair enough well theres my problem solved haha now to think of an idea for a radio show maybe ill do like my predictions for the top 20 in the charts each week or something like that
Ah ok, guess great minds think a like don't they Meister! What about some old fart such as afanof reading the whole Watford Observer out so old sods like Berks with sight problems can keep up on the gossip? This will also help Krisvad/Hatrix (what ever his name is) catch up on local area news. Or alternatively, I vote wfcwarehouse, as a "responsible" moderator to read out Dear Deidre from the middle of the Sun daily.
Now the host has set up the licencing stuff the link is live. Try it. I won't be giving instructions :dismay:. On trial for the next 3 weeks.
I have been listening for the last five or so minutes, i have had enough of capital and kiss fm they are playing such s*** atm Roughly the last three songs have been cut short missing the last thirty seconds or so ???
i was involved in a **** load of radio shows at manchester. if you want something to put out at 3 in the morning gmt then look no further
i'd also recommend audacity as a program for people looki8ng to record songs off the internet or just their own voices. it was basically the official student radio tool when you weren't in the studio
I used to use audacity, but it doesn't work on my brothers new computer so now we use Gearbox and Ableton Live
probably an online database, admin uploaded the music, and the software picks a song from the list randomly and plays it. simple. :jumping1:
I think it's good background music while your on here. Maybe get a few Watford themed songs on there before kick off every saturday.
Great call. I have a few stored away somewhere. As for the music? Well we have 1gb of space to upload our mp3's, so I've been resampling everything we're putting up there to save space without losing quality. There is a regular playlist with current tracks, and a lightly played list which throws in the odd track from the past. I think currently we're using about 800mb. If anyone's done live streaming before and knows how to connect to the shoutcast server, (I can provide all the details of it), then let me know in this thread. Thinking about it, it might be quite funny listening to some of you wannabe DJ's. Might make hospital radio sound good :]]:]]
OK, I've just taken a look and the software tells me this... Enter this information into your live source software to perform a live broadcast: Server hostname: x.x.x.xServer port: 8008Server type: ShoutCastBit rate: 32Password: (The 'Source password' value from your stream settings) Obviously I will provide the IP address and the source password, but you chaps will have to have live source software that can connect. Let me know how you want to proceed for a possible test.
