Another wise move - competition for Stewart has gone from almost nothing to zilch. Unless Sadler is coming in

Well it either means Aidy wants to get Parkes ready to take over asap and he's willing to sacrifice a month to get Parkes in OR it means he's got another LB in to replace Stewart/challenge Stewart and thus Parkes is surplus.

The fact that the rumour only mentions a one month loan suggests to me that it is the first of the two situations.

Do you *really* think Parkes is worth playing yet? I seem to remember him being bullied by the Gills players at the Vic and then going awol away to Southend. That hardly seems like decent competition to me. I'd much rather the kid went out on loan and learnt the game than got put into our team on a whim and had his confidence shattered by being mullered every week.

Good for him to get some games under his belt.

It's gotta be a positive thing. As UEA said, Parkes isn't even close to being ready for the first team and it'll be good for him to get some experience, but at the same time I don't think Aidy would allow him to leave unless he already has another PROPER left back already lined up, which is obviously a good thing.

Thing is, Parkes isn't even a 'proper' left back. He's right footed I believe.

Yeah, that's true. In fact, apparently, he can barely use his left foot at all.

    Dream on... :sign12:

No - seriously, I think Aidy WOULD send him out even if he had no one lined up.

Spot on, people on here have been crying out for him to play yet whenever i've seen him play he's looked out of his depth and just not ready. I *really* don't think it'd be any better than JS.

Indeed, James Chambers all over again :dismay:
