Anyone else think it's getting quite pathetic now that we haven't signed a single player other than Ainsworth, who had basically already signed in November? Considering our terrible form, our awful football, the fact that we have 1 senior left back at the club, 1 of our 2 main centre backs is gone for a few months and our absolutely pitiful midfield you would of thought there would of been SOMETHING done about at least 1 of these issues by now wouldn't you? But no, the only transfer talk we hear of is about selling our best player...

Bearing in mind the club/AB have said there's next to no money available to spend (good news as he'd only waste it) it's not that ridiculous. Loan signings appear to be the most likely occurance if anything, plenty of clubs have been inactive so far this Jan. Nothing to get worked up about.

Yeah! I mean it would of been ridiculous to have planned ahead and tended to the issues nice and early...

No but unless your teams going wholesale changes or has been after someone for a long time its quite usual for a lot of transfers to happen towards the deadline and it seems im not the only one who wasn't expecting early signings...

The thing is we're most likely to make loan signings. These won't happen till the end of the window as clubs will try to sell rather than loan - at least the type of player we're interested in.

Loan signings do make sense as we don't commit to huge wages we could hang on even if we don't promote.

considering we were "down by Christmas" last season AND sold our best player.... I thought the plan was to build for this season. Correct me if Im wrong but isnt that a whole TWELVE MONTHS to bring in the right players?

you are rather negative mate.:whoosh: but everyday i come home and hope to see we have signed someone, i mean anyone, just a comfort signing would be nice, just a glimpse of hope. I dont mind us not signing anyone, i would just like to see our current lads ave a bit more desire and passion, and stop signign people that could turn out to be the next ronaldinho if they get enought reserve appearences

Look at who we've signed in those 3 months - or 3 of them at least:

    Williams
    MacAnuff
    Ellington

Now I know that Williams has been out injured and neither the Duff or the Duke have set the world on fire - but I think most of us were pretty excited about each of these signings. I know I was - and to some extent I still am.

I think we've signed decent players - they just haven't worked - but at least Aidy's tried.

Finally we're back to our usual discussion KJ - what we - and Aidy considers the right players - probably won't come here.

I agree we need to strengthen the team this January window BUT I don't feel it necessary to buy anyone, at least not if we can get loan signings in. The type of players we want to come are probably more likely to be sold if their clubs can find buyers - Aidy's hoping they won't.

Patience is a virtue - but farkin' difficult to deal with. I'll make my judgement on our dealings in this window when it's shut. Mind you - last season I was fairly excited
