hi im new i know people have said stuff about dj campbell hh and ppl like that and they havent come yet but i have heard from someone in the board of the championship and he said coz AB has a good friendship with fergie that we are trying to get dong fongzhou off them on loan and maybe get eagles back but highly unlikely.also this is probably just some rumours but i heard we are going for m.bent benedick vilakazi from orlando pirates kieran gibbs on loan chris brunt danny haynes phil ifil michael duberry reply
True or not, the last thing we need is a loan. All that will mean is possibly a key player to promotion would be lost at the end of the season. Then we would be back to square one, but with higher stakes. So no thank you...
Potguy, do you ever agree with anything or anyone? Ive noticed recently you are beginning to contradict yourself even.
A loan move looks the more likely option.... we're not gonna pay for anyone in what the board see is an over inflated market Definitely see a winger coming on loan... who remains to be seen Bent and Duberry are useless.... weve got better!
I have frequent moodswings. Much of what I post is the results of what time of the month it is... :]] I have never however supported loans. I think they are stupid unless you have an option to buy at the end, which we obviously wouldn't get with Man U.
I agree - loans are ridiculous if the club has youngsters to develop. The only loan I'd accept was in an injury situation. We are a developing club - and it doesn't matter how talented a player is, he has to play to get better. In stead of developing our own talent - some of which has generated 13 mio quid over the last 7 months, we develop for other clubs - ManUre in the case of Fossie.
It would appear loans are all we're gonna get at the moment... not because anyone wants to, but because no player of any high quality will ever sign permanently Right now we need to replace the explosive and dangerous pace we've lost in the forms of boozer and Ashley Young... we can only do that IMO in the form of loans AT THE MOMENT (unless you can think of a pacy winger weve got a good chance of signing)
You're absolutely right. But the question is - do we bring someone in to backup Smith/theDuff or do we give Campana, Macca, Cavalli the chance to develop further (okay, Macca's been given a chance or 8 before)? I would prefer giving our own players a chance - although it probably will cost us poiints along the way.
But what would be the point if a season down the line we get promoted and then he sods off back to wherever he came from? Back to square one. Fact is, without a option to buy, loans are just a complete false economy. I completely agree it would be nice to have some more pacey wingers, but getting players on loan and improving them only so other teams gain is just ludicrous.
Lets be realistic here, we've lost Ashley and Boozer for a combined £11mil (rising to £13.6million)... Campana, Cavalli and Macca's COMBINED net worth RIGHT NOW wouldnt be far past 500k Not forgetting James Chambers who also used to cover left or right midfield. Something tells me we cant rely on those three.... Campana for sure as he is so inexperienced and we're not exactly hearing rave reviews about him neither Cavalli has come back overweight so I very much doubt we'll see him.... And then theres the enigma McNamee who Aidy said could leave back in May It might just be me but it would appear we are desparately short in the wing department. We need a quick fix and a loan looks the only viable option
I dont disagree one bit. Our ineffectiveness in the transfer market (plus flogging all our wingers) has put us in this situation We are not going to be able to bring in anyone permanently who is better than boozer RIGHT NOW so the only option for us is to loan Plus its not about "it would be nice to have pacey wingers".... thats been our style of play for the last couple of seasons and now we've got to start all over right at the start of the new season We cant afford to drop points as points on the board are all that matters If the right player becomes available in the future then so be it.. until then, loans are the only viable answer
Tbf these are reasonable suggestions and far more realistic than most carp that has been posted on this section in recent weeks. I can see us going for Duberry if Demerit/Shittu leaves.
If we seriously expect to do well in this league, we will have to go for loans whether it is right or wrong. No-one any good wants to sign. That is the worrying thing!!!
I think the loan is an option that it would be foolish to overlook. Yes it is a "quick fix" but it can buy us time. For example, if we are able to loan 1 or 2 players to strengthen our wing and attacking options, they may give us the strength we need to carry us through to January, where, with a healthy league position, we are able to attract some permanent signings. Personally, I would prefer to sign our own players to do the job, but it would be foolish to write of loaning players entirely as it has been a staple form of bolstering our squad over the whole of our recent history.
maybe he only said cavalli would leave in order to make him work really hard so this time next week we could be looking in admiration at a rather fit frenchman, which is a phrase i hope never to have to use again.
Frenchmen are all arrogant, cowardly and rude waiters. If they weren't they would not have been stereotyped as such by generations of cartoons and comedies.
Well lets all just thank God that Liz the 1st didn't marry that Frog all those years later eh? We'd all be cheese eating as we speak.
