Coleman speaks out. Sorry to post again but: Chris Coleman admits Collins John has not told him that he wants to leave Fulham. The Dutch striker is set to quit Craven Cottage in the coming days after Fulham accepted an offer from another Premiership club. Watford are understood to be the team chasing John, who has scored just once in 17 Premiership appearances this season. Coleman confirmed the bid for the forward is satisfactory, but revealed there have been crossed wires regarding his desire to leave. "We had an offer for Collins John today, one which was a good offer," Coleman told Sky Sports News. "Collins stressed to his agent that he wanted to leave the club. Collins told his agent that he told me he wanted to leave the club. "In actual fact, he hadn't. It's disappointing from my point of view, but sometimes it all gets lost in translation. "The fee that has been offered from another Premiership club is a good one, which we will accept, so it will be down to Collins John. "I won't say whether it's Watford or not because it's not been agreed, but it is another Premiership club." Basically its us!

Fulham striker speculation mounts By Anthony Matthews Comment AIDY BOOTHROYD may be close to strengthening his striking options by signing Collins John from Fulham for a fee reported to be in the region of between £2m and £3m. Watford are understood to be the unnamed Premiership club the Cottagers accepted a bid from today (Thursday) but Boothroyd may be forced to call upon all his persuasive powers to convince the Dutchman to move to Vicarage Road as the 21-year-old is believed not to be keen on a move to the Hornets. The Watford boss is a long-term admirer of the former Twente Entschede forward and failed in his efforts to secure him in the summer, but the way was cleared for Boothroyd to step up his hunt after Chris Coleman secured the services of Italian striker Vincenzo Montella on loan from Roma. Hmmm... that's okay I suppose. I can understand that if it's relegation he fears, but why else would he not want to join us. I hope Aidy manages to persuade him. Also, with 1,2mio for the rotherham pair and - let's say - 2,5mio for CJ - that's our 4 mio gone right? So no prem-class midfielder, no centreback and no left backs. Hmmm... could we spend more wisely? I don't think so but am not 100% sure.
Cottagers accept £2m Hornets bid Fulham boss Chris Coleman would not confirm the identity of the club bidding for his striker, but he did say the offer has been accepted. Now it will be up to the Dutchman whether or not he stays at Craven Cottage. John has only scored once this season, but he still averages a goal every other start for Fulham so there's no doubting his quality.
Fulham They've signed Montella, and John was already not playing, so it's more than likely he will leave. More good news on John
DO we need another centre half as cover? I think Bangura and Mahon have done fine in midifeld. Expected so much more from Francis. Maybe John will be put off by our 'disgraceful, unattractive' style of play.
well lets sart posting then, we dont want to stop this excitement! and to someone peviouuslly, i think we have more than 4 million, more like 5/6, and ifaidy needsa bit more i'm sure the board would be quite leniant as in not setting an exact figure for a budget.
I personally think it is us... you know how aidy and simpson love to sring nice suprises on us!!! chances are they have asked that they not mention who it is so they can bring us good news in the next few days as a nice little suprise for us to cheer us up a little after the abismal season (points wise) so far.
Who needs CJ Fullham don't want him !!! A lot of money for somone who looked awfull at the Vic and not a lot better at the Cottage !! Mr Sharp is the man.;D
£2 million is not a lot for CJ, banged them in last year. Plus he has had to work with that sheep shagging @@@@ mustard
just been on football night with john barnes he read in the Sun hes refused the wage cut and has snubbed us! always thought this would be the case cant see him on our championship budget next year, could be proved wrong tho
I also posted this in the general forum. http://www.sheffieldunited-mad.co.uk/news/loadroll.asp?cid=ED11&id=317332
Fulham striker Collins John has rejected a move to Watford after they failed to meet his personal demands. that what it says in the papers.
Apparently he won't take a wage cut. He is looking for 20k / week and that would break our salary cap. Now I know that a salary cap is a self-imposed figure but if Aidy doesn't think he is coming for the right reasons then we should wish him well and tell him never to step on our training ground again. On the other hand if Aidy really rates him and his attitude is right then breaking our cap is not unreasonable - there are many ways to pay someone without calling it salary. Personally, £20k/week for what he has achieved, I think is a lot of money. I would rather invest in youth and build the Club for the future. CJ could be part of that future but he should only equal our highest paid earners on something like £16k/week.
Roy Keane got it right yesterday when he said that one of the first questions asked when a player goes to a club is the whole pay package scenario. CJ wasn't bothered about playing for the team bottom of the league, he was more concerned with money! We have a player at the club who must the best paid player regardless of who we sign, therefore if we pay CJ 20k then this player must be paid that too. Not worth it in my opinion.
Apparently Aidy is furious. CJ had indicated a figure that would have been met by us, in discussions with him and his agent the bar was raised considerably, rumour was £22k a week!!!!!!!!!!!
Where do you get this from Jobby? For John to raise the demand is just like him saying "thanks but no thanks" or even more likely "I think I'll get a better offer elsewhere - I know of Warnock's fetisch". Anyways - it was fun while it lasted but games over on us and John it seems.
