Good, that saves on £20,000 a week in wages and £3.25 mill, which can go towards something else. i.e Billy Sharp or someone like him.

The way the transfer market is going for us it'll probably go on the club Xmas party:(

Ah well, they could invest it all in helping with stadium costs. Then we could become the new Notts County.

Well i'm going to cause a stir and say it isnt good if he has indeed knocked us back.
£20,000 a week is not a lot in terms of Prem wages these days for a player who has represented his country and has played in the Premiership for a period of time. OK, so say we turn our attention to young Billy Sharp, how does he compare to Collins John as far as proven quality is concerned/ Simple, he doesnt.
I dont think it purely comes down to the money for CJ, the fact we are bottom of the league and have no hope of surviving is bound to sway his decision.
Personally, I dont blame him. If Fulham dont plan on playing him, would he consider coming on loan? People think he is being greedy, but if we want to attract top players, you have to pay the going rate. If we dont, then we might as well go for Billy Sharp, Jermain Easter et al from the lower leagues who dont want a lot of money, but have less quality.
The quotes I have read said that we had agreed to pay him his £20k, but he still turned us down - which I think is really good news.
The fact that he has a `reputation` at Fulham and that they are not selling H says it all.
If we have to agree to his demands and then go on our knees to get him to sign - which means he will not be a motivated player (they said he was a lazy... at Fulham) also gives the wrong message to the team. Much better to get in experienced loanees (like Marlon) with an option to buy, if we like them.

As has been mentioned on here before though, if it comes to near the end of the window and no one else has come in for him, then John will only have the options of staying at Fulham where he will be frozen out, or joining us and playing.
I still reckon he'd be a great signing and I'm sure Aidy could motivate him irregardless of his initial desires to come or not.

I don't blame him but i'm content with him turning us down, if a player isn't interested in playing for our club then i don't want him. He obviously isn't up for the fight so he can stay on the fulham bench.

Sure Mr Colin W will take interest if Sheffield Uniyed stay up!

Colin can never have too many strikers. We all know that.

He will probably sell Webber or someone in the summer to bring in another 2.
They did buy a defender though as well.
From what I read on a Sheffield United site the fans really want a midfielder or 2.
