off fiscal website-

WATFORD Football Club today (Friday) completed a double swoop for Rotherham pair Will Hoskins and Lee Williamson, in a deal that could eventually rise to £1m.

Aidy Boothroyd moved to strengthen his central and forward options, and captured the duo on three-and-a-half year contracts respectively after talks were concluded this afternoon.

Watford beat off stern competition for the signature of 20-year-old Hoskins in particular, after the youngster caught the eye of impressed onlookers with 16 goals for the Millers.

An England Under-20 international Hoskins is comfortable on either foot and will provide stern competition for the current crop of Watford forwards.

Williamson, an energetic midfield player, started his career at Mansfield Town before moving on to Northampton and finally Rotherham.

The 24-year-old joins Miller's team-mate Hoskins and will add much steel, and goals, to the heart of Boothroyd's side having already scored six times for Alan Knill's Yorkshire outfit.

Neither of the Hornets' signings will be available for tomorrow's FA Cup tie against League Two side Stockport County, but both will be present to witness the fixture as they begin preparations for life in the Barclays Premiership.

The duo will be available for next weekend's (Saturday, 13 January) mouth-watering league tie with Liverpool at Vicarage Road.

I wasn't ridiculing Darius, I think he is a good player. I was just lamenting our form in front of goal and rejoicing in the fact that although it was in league 1 Hoskins has been hitting the back of the net this season.

Evasive matey - i wasn't implying anything you wrote being detrimental to Darius, just pointing out that goals scored outside the premiership are all well and good, but just because a player scores regularly doesn't mean he's a pervert premiership quality marksman.

Speaking after Will Hoskins and Lee Williamson's transfers to premiership club Watford were confirmed today, Millers chairman Denis Coleman admitted the club had no choice but to do the deal.
News broke yesterday evening that a deal had been agreed with Watford which could see the Millers pocket over £1m for the pair, news which sent the MillersMAD messageboards crazy, with most Millers fans pleased with the deal and the amount, for a change.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield this afternoon, Denis said; "We didnt have a choice. Lee Williamson would'nt sign a contract and would leave the club at the end of the season for nothing. Will Hoskins, he's been offered a deal and refused to sign it. What goods any players that don't want to be at Rotherham to us??"

"We've got 100% faith in Alan Knill, you've seen the players he's brought into the club in the close season on a very limited budget, we'll support him all we can and we've got 100% faith in him that he can do it again, and we have some cracking young lads coming in as well." Coleman added.

Meanwhile, Coleman took a swipe at Hoskins and his agent Imre Varadi in this mornings Rotherham Advertiser.

"Will has asked that I talk to him through his agent, but that's ridiculous, The agent should only become involved if the player needs advice on a contract offer. Will doesn't need advice on the simple matter of whether he wants to stay or go and he should come clean and tell me one way or the other."

"We pay his wages, we pay his medical bills and we pay his insurance - not the agent. It's matter between the club and the player. We have bent over backwards for Will, If a player treats the club like that then he is better off somewhere else." Denis said.

Yes they do, just read the thread. I really hope they can survive and not get relegated and i hope that we can assist them with a loan or two of our youngsters. Theo would be perfect for them and send Tiggy up as well and who knows, they may make the play offs.

Hope Will and Lee turn out to be really good signings. Will Hoskins has been on fire this season (check some of his goals) http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=millersmad

Cheers fella, hope Tiggy does well up there for you, look after him for us! It would also be nice to see Theo Robinson loaned to you guys, 17 year old quick striker, would do well in league one!

Hope you stay up! We know what Rotherham are going through because we went through it a few years ago...but not to the extent of having points deducted!!

GL with the rest of the season.

I believe that aidey saw a good partnership in getting the two of them and thinks that each will help the other settle faster and williamson to be a supplier for hoskins.
Would be good to have two players on the same wavelength to be able to make the transition to help us avoid the drop.
