View Full Version : So what does everyone do?

There seems to be a lot of time dedicated to posting here, especially during working hours. Just out of interest what does everybody do?

I'll start.

Was made redundant at the start of the year, from a Customer support management job. I am actively looking for a new permanent role, but lucky to be in the position where I'm looking for the right job rather than any job. I have done a bit of consultancy off the bback of an interview, but it has been a while and considering some temping work now.

I work for Vauxhall Customer Care, which is why I am based in Luton :(

Was being made redundant as they decided to relocate to Newcastle and Budapest and at the time I couldn't relocate as my wife would not move. Since then me and the wife split up and I asked to relocate, was sent out to Budapest for 8 weeks and was given the choice to relocate to either sites. I have since got back to my wife and decided to relocate to Newcastle for this reason, I move up there next week :) with the wife joining me some time next year hopefully.

So thats my job and story and the reason why my location at the moment is Luton.

I work in finance, that about as specific as I'll be!! No one will talk to me if I tell you what I actually do! But as would be expected jobs in my areas aren't all that riveting so I keep this open most of the day to keep me awake!!!!

I have to check it at work as at the moment I am waiting for broadband at home and so don't really go online at home at all.

Good luck, I hope it leads to something more permamnent.

I used to travel into London every day for quite a few years and by the time I left London I was sick of the journey day in and day out. I haven't been into town for a few months now, but I'm going in Tuesday to do some work and for some strange reason am looking forward to the trip.

Does this mean less time in the arcade???

Journey although packed is 30 mins less than my last one so finding it bearable. Best thing is they're fairly relaxed about net surfing so I will slowly regain my Arcade titles.:)

I'm currently working as an Environmental Consultant in Manchester, I was previously working in Leeds but couldn't be bothered to commute there every day so quit! I stayed there until after the Play Off Final though so I could laugh at the Leeds fans!

My job's pretty boring, but when the boss is away (i.e now) I can come on the internet and check out the forum(s). I don't have an internet connection at home so I'm very much a weekday poster as opposed to weekends, which is crap because I miss all the post match chat! :(

Wish I could mate, I do have a PC at home that has been on the internet. The trouble is I have two house mates, and they're not keen on getting the net, so I can't be arsed to foot the bill because I know that if I did get it they'd use it anyway, and being a nice bloke I wouldn't stop them! (what a soft touch I am). Also we've only got a 6 month contract on the house so getting the net would be problematical if we had to sign a year long contract for the t'interweb.

It's annoying but at least I can go on at work, and when I come back for home games I normally stay at my Grandparents house, they've got the net so I can use that.

Faith... the beautiful thing about football is that it really does not matter what people do outside the stadium when a match is being played, they all become as the total sum of the crowds parts.... the 12th man!

What is missing in todays stadium, is the terrace... Being anonymous, a part of a passionate, emotionally vocal, baying and swaying crowd... (a place to forget everything about the outside world, and to enjoy the sense of being insignificant in the belly of an immensely significant roaring great monster)

Totally agree, when I go to football I am a different person, I shout and swear and sing until I'm hoarse!!!!

I have only been once to a ground with terracing, bournemouth about 8 years ago, wasn't really enough people there that day to be a roaring great monster!!!!!

not a two foot one, no;)

On my last holiday i only saw angel sharks, they are smaller than me, so not really that scary really

Generally as long as you dive at the right time, don't have any open cuts that are bleeding and respect them, i.e. don't get in their way or try to tocuh them or wind them up you won't have any problems with them.

More scary being 24 meters under water and wondering how ill it'll make you if you had to swim straight to the surface, or in fact if you could actually make it!

try doing a night dive, one side harbour wall, other side, blackness, blackness and more blackness:eek:

I am actually afraid of open water, when at the beach I never go out of my depth in the sea, I started to dive to get over this fear.

You can hear alot under water than you would think. Most things will avoid you, although some of the little ones like to chew your hair:eek:

It is amazing underwater, a different world and worth trying even if you decide you don't like it after a try dive.

Will whack up some pictures one day.

try doing a night dive, one side harbour wall, other side, blackness, blackness and more blackness:eek:

I am actually afraid of open water, when at the beach I never go out of my depth in the sea, I started to dive to get over this fear.

You can hear alot under water than you would think. Most things will avoid you, although some of the little ones like to chew your hair:eek:

It is amazing underwater, a different world and worth trying even if you decide you don't like it after a try dive.

i would like to do it. I'm just too chicken. Plus have you seen the movie open water?!?

the best ones are the not se well known ones, the schools tend to stick to the old faithful, but if you ask you do get.

If you go to some of the better Atolls in the Maldives you can see 95% of what you can see diving just by snorkeling.

It always amazes me how some people rush ahead and miss 75% of what is actually there if you take your time and have a bit of basic knowledge.

yeah, dont watch it then!! but just make sure that every time you dive off a boat, you make sure everyone knows you..... just be loud so if you are not there, people will wonder where you are

I am hoping to be a rescue diver by then, will be able to go to 40m deep:eek: in lanzarote, some of the best wrecks and caves were at 30m odd and too deep for me, that's why I am going to do the additional training,
