I like your stadium. Very impressive. Who was your top goal scorer last year?

Ighalo and Siqueira, both with 6 goals (we just scored 35 goals, our other forwards were like Torres, no goal available)

@ForzaWatford When it rains, people take out their umbrellas LOL but Granada is a sunny place, I think that, during the last 3 years, it has rain only just in one match.

I know... Small teams have a fight with Roures, the "TV Chieff". Teams have to put big prizes because only Barcelona and Madrid get really money from TV (140M € everyone of them, next is Valencia with 38M. Granada only receives 10M, we can't fight).

Appart of prizes, Roures loves to kill football, an example: ALL andalusian matches (Granada against Malaga, Seville or Betis), matches where a lot of supporters can travel with the team, had been on Monday night. Casuality? I don't think so.

Also, some teams doesn't really have supporters, as you can see on Mallorca, Levante or Racing...

So we are really happy we are a full stadium where a lot of trainers say its hard to win because the supporters. We bring 5.000 supporters to Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho was shocked! :P

That is great support. PES2013 has the stadium down to a tee .All Spanish clubs will have their own stadium and intro anthems and I shall certainly be playing as Granada.

Are you happy with this TV deal ? All that seems to happen is that Barca and Real get bigger and bigger and can spend more money in the transfer market so in effect the Primera is reduced to a race for third and fourth.

Even Valencia cannot compete and in trying to catch up have incurred huge debts. Perhaps the Nou Mestalla might help them.

There was talk last year of the Sevilla chairman getting the other clubs to force a new collective TV deal but the big two don't want to end the status quo. Which is a shame.

Seems like there is a lot of politics still going on in the division.

As you can guess... We are not happy with this TV deal, but presidents don't do anything (apart of 3 o 4 teams) so I don't know when will it change. Now, La Liga is interesting in the fight for Europe, avoiding segunda... But champions fight is boring. We know that Madrid and Barcelona will win all the matches except 5 or 6 in all season...

Sevilla supporters made this "claim" saying: "Estoy hasta la polla del Barça y del Madrid" which basically means: "I'm up to my dick, about Barça and Madrid" (it rhymes in english, LOL!)

Hello Granada users!!

The latest comment from our owner is that we are waiting for proof of funds, then it will be completed. Our local rag (newspaper) understands that there will be a group of investors involved, as there is at Granada.

So my question is who are those investors at your club? Do you approve of it?

rojiblancohorizontal

Well, in Granada the invest group is the Pina/Pozzo tandem, but "behind" some company (i can't remember the name right now)

Smudger
21-06-2012, 06:42 PM
Well that clearly shows the huge disparity in financial muscle and it's effect on the table more clearly than anything else I could say.

Would you be pleased if as the financial gap shows, to just remain in La Liga roji ? Say bobbing about in midtable or perhaps on the odd occasion getting to the later stages of the Copa del Rey and securing a Europe League spot ?

Or do you have fans who want to go that little bit extra ? We've had several clubs hwo were quite safe in the EPL but whose fans became bored and eventually forced the manager out and the club crashed. This includes one of our divisional rivals Charlton who were promoted last season.

rojiblancohorizontal

Well, we want to have a quiet season this year, but I think every one of us wants to save, even if its at the last minute of the last match (Pina said that today during Anquela presentation).

We preffer to be in midtable, and I think we will. I think no one of us think about getting into EL (Athletic, Espanyol, Atletico, Sevilla... Those are the EL usually teams, hard to fight with them YET).

In Copa del Rey... This year we wanted to finish it soon, so we can focus on La Liga, this year I think we will get into later stages, but no way to get into the final... But hey! who knows?

Maybe, if we have a nice year, next year we will think to get into EL, one way or another.

If we have to choose, i think we prefer to be at mid table and get to later stages on Copa, would be nice to see.

(Anyway, of course, there are some hooligans fans who wants to get into Champions League, OF COURSE!! GRANADA SHOULD!! :D)

On the one hand, that revenue is really driven by Barcelona and Real Madrid. On the other hand, the revenue imbalance locks in place the disparity between the teams. It makes me appreciate more what the Pozzo's are trying to do, not just with WFC.

Perhaps someone like Valero? When I saw him last year, he was completely different player to the one at WBA a few years ago. Made his debut from Spain last year as well, don't think he joined anyone yet has he?

Very good shout matimbers. Doubt he'd want to play in the Segunda. There has been a lot of interest in him from several clubs. Who knows perhaps our friends in Granada have pulled off a coup. Several very tasty players in that Villareal squad.

Its hard to explain... Ill try.

Obviously, no one can be the boss on two different teams. Pina has been the sport manager (is the word? the one who makes the team) in Cadiz (now, he is gonna leave Cadiz) and its going to do the same in Oviedo. What does Pina want? He want to repeat what Granada did, but with no Pozzo help.

Whats the point? When Oviedo get into Segunda, he will be the boss and he will leave Granada (Pina, not the actually manager team, just a different "visible face" on top).

We like that? Well, we all wants him just focused on Granada, but... We understand. I think Pina should forget other teams, collaborate just with udinese and Watford, but he has too much ambitions... In Cadiz he had crashed (people claim him to go, he can't get power, Cadiz's principal don't collaborate...), so he will try now in Oviedo.

They mostly understand (even if they don't like it). We all would love if Pina focused just in Granada.

It doesn't seem to have affected him if Granada were promoted while he was also involved with Cadiz. So perhaps his efforts with Oviedo won't have a negative impact.

As a fan of Granada it would be disappointing to find that your man is not fully committed to your club. Ther'd be uproar here if that was the case. I'm sure if it is necessary and Pina is developing a Ceasar complex the Pozzo family would have several admirable replacements lined up.

After all Spain is not short of footballing people in all sorts of areas. Several coaches have been drafted here already to senior positions within academies.

I heard that you have problems with the mayor, or better with the town council because they raised or want to raise the rent of the stadium, estimating the maintenance costs to € 400.000
is it true? can you tell us more?
we had some similar problems in Udine in the past.

rojiblancohorizontal
09-07-2012, 09:38 AM
Yeah, major don't like Granada CF (especially Pina, why? dunno). He said he would raise the rent of the stadium by making the corners of the stadium, now, we have provisional corners and he says: "worked corners? I didn't say that". He first said when we improve into Segunda, then into Primera, and then he said that if we stay in Primera. People think that he thought that Granada would get back to Segunda next year.

The major, time ago, tried to develop a new team in Granada (Granada Atletico, now disappeared, as Granada 74, another "*******" team).

Now, he wants 400.000€ by using the stadium Los Carmenes, obviously, Granada CF says no, and major says: "You just have to reduce some salaries". Its kinda hilarious.

They have a fight, but they both need to talk, major can loose elections by granada supporters votes.

By the way: Nice team the one we are making this year... It seems we can be at Mallorca, Espanyol, Sevilla... Level if we do it ok (Teams which are on a quiet position and with some luck... who knows... UEL...). Ok, ill be back, thats exiting me so much, my soul has a boner (:]]

09-07-2012, 10:54 AM
this is very similar for some aspects to what happened here in Udine and indeed the new mayor won also with the votes of the supporters. Pozzo also sent a text message to all the supporters with season-ticket resident in town, inviting them to vote for the new mayor. Operation for which he was sued by the other candidate and lost the case.
In the next few days we should have some news about the tender set up by the town council which will solve the issue allowing Udinese to renew the stadium.

Siqueira wants to leave to a bigger club, we understand, and Valencia is the one who's offering now and they have a contract with Siqueira, but Pina wants money. Valencia now offers 4M for the 50% of Siqueira (they can't afford 100% of what Pina ask for) but Pina wants 6M if they want 50%, so we still don't know if he will go or not.

Ighalo... Something strange is happening, he is asking for money to come back to Granada and he may not come... I think he will, but its strange.

By the way, two left defenders signed: Ortiz and Angulo (this one may be on loan next days, maybe not, it depends on siqueira case).

And: We start on Vallecas (the match that ended last season), third match on Santiago Bernabeu and fifth match against Barcelona on Camp Nou... Hard beginning.

I hope and i think, that Granada this season will do better! The Liga has a different level of Serie A, because 2 teams fight for the title, and the other are about to be on the same level (only Atl.Madrid,Valencia,Sevilla and now Malaga have something more). If Floro Flores plays in his role, he'll do minimum 10goals ;)
Seeing the calendar, you have a hard beginning, but it's better matching the strongest earlier!By now, i don't see too much "normal" teams more powerful than Granada, only the ones i said before.

The second one is the only one I don't like, everyone here (in Granada) belive that is one from a catalogue, so it's not exclusive for us.

And talking about the sponsors, I don't know why there are so many; it should be for earn more money... but I don't know for sure. And yes the one in the arse is real, and the last season we have another one there LOL

I'm guessing because TV money isn't as much in Spain for a team like Granada (I'm sorry to say that and don't mean any disrespect) as it is for a lower team in the Premier League (or even Championship). So to cover that they have sponsors here there and everywhere on the kit to generate the money gap

Someone mentioned Sweden above..but its the same in Norway. Most kits have 4,5,6 different sponsors and they can be anywhere on the strip.
I believe the rule in the premier league & Football league is for one sponsor on the front of the shirt.. isnt it?

Talking of logos I am glad we arent going to have the HEC logo on the shirts this season. The local club here (IK Start) have a grand total of nine different kit sponsors this season. One on the socks, two on the shorts, one on the sleeve, two on the back of the shirt and three on the front of the shirt.

Cordoba CF (2º división) 2-1 Granada (Orellana scores and failed a penalty). Pre-Season match with experiments, as usual, nothing to worry about.

Also, we have signed Alex Bernal from Real Betis. He will try to convince Anquela to stay at first team, if not, he will go to the B or on loan to 2º division teams.

Yeah, its gonna be intense

So - are Seville your "local" rivals alongside Malaga? - I realise Seville is not that near to Granada - but compared to Deportivo or Bilbao it is just around the corner!

Do the huge distances mean that games are often just home fans with a few hardy away fans - or do big followings go to away games.

In England, premier league games tend to be much more home fan dominated now because of the sheer number of the seats taken by home season ticket holders.

Watford usually have over 1000 fans at away games and at local games three or four times that number - that makes the atmosphere in the ground very different when there are perhaps only 15000 home fans -but if you go to a stadium like Old Trafford - 75000 fans and the typical allocation to away fans is about 3000 only - so they are quite literally drowned out

The real "rival" is Malaga (although there is a good relationship, is an historical rivalry). The Seville rivalry come from political reasons, and thats why is the hatest team in Andalusia.

The distance... Yeah, is hard for supporters to travel to Coruña or Bilbao, or to the islands (Like Mallorca, or Las Palmas in segunda). Anyway, last
season we took over 8.000 supporters on Santiago Bernabeu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxQKhJgApVU

But yes, is hard for teams supporters (distance, prizes...) to travel to other cities in 90% of matches.

I'm really curious and hopeful for them.
Both are really good IMHO, but Flores was "blocked on bench" having someone named Di Natale in front of him, and Torje looked very promising but still having to "mature".

@sherlock today, i saw both of them in "Trofeo Ciudad de Granada" tonight (team presentation on Los Carmenes, against Vitoria de Gimaraes, 2-1 for Granada CF). Flores was a little weak, he was changed because a little bit injure), but he scored 2 goals last day against Hercules CF. Let's see how he develope. Torje was ok, fast, moving all along the field... I liked him.

@AngelHornet Kinda, he is in the team, but we want to sell him. And he had tweet some things Granada didnt like. Pamarot has not level for La Liga.

A question for our Granada friends....

Have you sold any of YOUR players this season ? We see you have spent €5m on players and a few more udinese loanees....

I'm just having a discussion with a mate regarding what would happen IF the pozzo's pulled out of owning you....how many players would be left (after 3 years) that are ACTUALLY YOURS ?

rojiblancohorizontal
16-08-2012, 04:55 AM
Ill try to answer:

Sold (with some amount of money, not free): We have sold Mollo to Nancy (2M €) and we are waiting to sell Cortes (but he can exit free) and maybe Diakhaté. BUT think we have reject 4M from Athletic for Mikel Rico, 1M from Celta for Siqueira and 6M from Valencia for Siqueira. So we could had made more money.

About your question: What would happen if Pozzo's pulled out? How many player would be left on Granada? Right now:

- Toño
- Roberto
- Cortes
- Pamarot
- Diakhaté
- Ortiz
- Angulo
- Iñigo Lopez
- Mainz
- Borja Gomez
- Siqueira
- Moises Hurtado
- Lucena
- Mikel Rico
- Orellana
- Yebda
- Iriney
- Fran Rico
- El Arabi
- Darwin Machis.
- A lot of players on loan (Cruz, Cases, Dimitrievski, Widmar, De Coz, Ikechi, Akinsola, Murillo, Pudil, Yuste, Juanjo, Ferreiro, Boateng, Fatau, Bernal, Kitoko... I can´t remember all of them)

As you can see: Udinese helps a lot, especially on first year (and still does: Nyom, Torje, Flores, Jaime, Dani Benitez), but then the "gifts" come and go between teams (Siqueira free to Granada, Granada loan Matias Campos and Silva to Udinese so they dont need more foreign places. I wont be surprised if Granada "sells" free Pudil or Ikechi to Watford next year) and you start improving the Udinese style, signing and loaning. Allways on a nice brotherhood (one example: Machis made the medical reco on Udine, but then, he signed with Granada).

Sadly, 1-0, Rayo Vallecano scores on 94'.

Bad game, Anquela used a strange defensive "eleven", with no wings, that we hadn't used in all pre-season and the players didn't play it well.

Best players: El Arabi (so far), Nyom and Toño.

Flores didnt appear and Torje played few minutes (I think thats because he played with the national team, but he should had been on the main team).

Well done chaps. I would play you online Roji . PES's gameplay is far superior to the formulaic rubbish of FIFA but as Konami decided to remove the league mode (which idiot decided to do that needs to be sacked) when they have the entire La Liga and Brazilian championship covered beats me) I cancelled my pre-order. First time since PES3 emerged on the PC platform.

If they do decide to reinstate that mode via DLC as they did with the Copa Libertadores last season I'll buy it. New engine for PES2014, the Fox engine that is. Should see PES hammer FIFA globally.

I used to think that Smudge but FIFA's gameplay has improved immeasurably, became better than PES in 2010 imo.

Yes PES was awful for 2008-10 before slowly improving. With 2012 it has overtaken FIFA again. However because there are idiot's running the whole operation it becomes a bit pointless when despite the excellent gameplay (far better than FIFA where all teams and players play the same graded by arbitrary numbers) the have decided to remove the League mode. It just beggars belief they did that. As I said despite being a PES fan I cancelled my order once the news leaked out about this.

FIFA is the fashionable fad at the moment but it does not replicate the organic nature of football at all. PES isn't perfect either but it's a much better representation of the game. And still outsells FIFA in South America, Mexico, Africa and Asia and Spain.

Oh, Rojiblanco, how is Torje doing? I see he scored but, all around? In serie A he seemed very talented but still "immature" and maybe physically frail.
I was glad for him he went to Liga to "grow" because it seemed more good for his characteristics. (while I guess in Championship he would be destroyed by fouls, physical play and red cards for alleged "diving").

Torje is a player that I enjoy. He is fast, he does well with Nyom, and he seems to be comfortable now. No doubt about that, Torje (as Arabi) has been in the last 4 goals (2 penalties against him and 2 goals, Arabi: 3 passes, 1 goal). And I think that, today's trick against Auoate in his goal is an awesome one.

Same points than Valencia, 3 points behind Madrid... :P

El Arabi has been doing well. He has impressed me. Unfortunately the Zebra's could not emulate Granada againt a high flying and skilful Napoli side who contest the lead of serie A with the old lady of corruption:

Is the city council like many others in Spain short of finances ? Perhaps this is why they were arguing the **** for so long with the club. Anyway it all seems to have been resolved which is good news for our Andalusian brethren.

rojiblancohorizontal

Thank god, no more problems with the council. Pina and Torres (the mayor) cant see each other and Granada suffers it. Its not the same in rest of Spain, where cities "rent" stadiums to clubs for 1€ and they pay everything (and take also everything of marketing, pubs...)

They've signed a new stadium contract 2 years long, a little better for Granada than last one.

I am :P

But suddenly Granada, as I think u try to say, is playing better (actually, playing better since the "robbed match" against Athletic, seems like it has been something that woke up the players. Also the Anquela's mother death RIP) and the points will come.

Now, we face good matches to get points: Valladolid (Away) - Español (Home) - Malaga (Away) - Real Sociedad (Home). I think we can get, at least, 6 points.

Yebda is finally ok, Benitez is the "old" Benitez (the good one), Siqueira plays better with him, Brahimi, Torje and El Arabi are incredible players, Nyom is making his best season... I think too what we will end up in mid table :)

Vallodolid away can be tough with the support they have but I reckon two wins a draw and a defeat. Espanyol are all over the shop and Sociedad are not convincing on their travels. Malaga away ? That to me looks like the hardest game on paper. You never know. The team has been unlucky in recent games not to pick up more points.

But from following news, it seems he'll be "nominally" signed by Granada, but destination is Udinese.
I don't know if by loan or what, probably in order to avoid the limit of extra-EU players signings allowed.
Or maybe just waiting one year: Spain has an "easy naturalization", and a Southamerican can have Spanish citizenship just after 2 years of residence. One year only, if he has a Spanish parent or grandparent.
I guess this is another good reason for the Pozzos to own Granada. :naughty:

On the one hand, there have been 10 goals in the last two league games involving Getafe and 7 in the last two involving Granada. But on the other hand, Getafe have only conceded 2 goals in their last 5 home games and Granada have only scored 9 goals in their last 14 away games. Lol I would have put the whole 107 quid bank on the over 4.5 cards the odds were 1.36 to back but would have won by half time. Ref had average six yellows a game apparently.

The forum won £20. Layed getafe when they went 1-0 up at 1.36 about five mins later backed getafe to the stake money after Granada equalised at 2.36. So free bet on draw and Granada win so forum won £20 with no risk from 30 mins in game.

- Great run of Nyom on first goal
- Awesome match of Roberto (goalkeeper) (awesome on 1:50)
- Aranda was on the field just 5 minutes before the second goal, and it was first Recio's match on starting eleven

Great match, I think best of season. We had never attack so much as today (on the resume, only few attacks)

It has been a big surprise. I think the same as you, Pina has declared that he wants more than survive every year.

Alcaraz comes back: Granadino, Granada supporter, he leaves yesterday Aris Salomonika arguing "personal issues". Alcaraz goes often to Los Carmenes to see Granada CF, he had seen Granada B sometimes... But his experience on La Liga hasnt been good. Granada are one of the most solvent clubs in Spain but have nothing that even resembles a superstar.
