Don't you hate all those pennies floating around, I propose the introduction of a 99 pence coin.

Yes or No.

I think in some places, theres a 'give a penny take a penny' scheme where you put spare change in a box near the till, and take a penny if you are short of one. Thats a good idea :)

what is the reason for most things being price £no.99 ???

Business psychology. If a customer sees something priced at £9.99 he is more likely to justify buying it cos it's £9, rather than rounding it up to £10.

I don't like having loads of coppers floating around, however i'd take yours off your hands watford1990 if you were to get rid of that hideous signature and get rid of the not so hideous avater.

A spokesman for the Luny Party went to Parliment yesterday for 99 pence coin, is the 9.99 for charity or as UEA stated is it business.

It's hideous to look at, a ridiculous cartoon character followed by a poor attempt at comedy.
Sorry but it really is tat.

does that make it good?

No, ridiculous rather than the sig being UTTERLY ridiculous.

Did you get out of the wrong side of the cot this morning chewitt? lol

I think his avatar and sig are quite apt considering his roots... you keep em Watfrod1990.. the fact that i made the sig doesnt make me biased of course... lol

having been a retail student for too many years, this is true :) and exactly why retailers do it.

you should keep your coppers in a pot, its suprising how quickly they build up

As i am sure watford1990 will tell you in a large supermarket chain in Ireland (Superquinn) (give my love to Fergal if you see him) when the Euro was introduced that had a sunken cup put on to every checkout in all the stores for the silly little coins.

As mentioned before you dropped(if you got them within your change) them in if you so wished and used them(if your bill required it) if need be also.

I do that! Though I'm at a loss with what to do with my pot of Euro cents at the end of this year in France. The most worthwhile cause I can come up with so far is throwing the pot and coins off a really high building in the vain hope of it hitting a Frenchman.

better still, save them for next time and annoy a shopkeeper by paying in tiny coins

i might start doing that just to teach myself a lesson in how much i could save. my dad hates it when i throw them out!

here a crazy one for all of you. bitta history first.

the irish league has beeen re-arranged for the start of next season which begins in march. they planned to have the biggest clubs in the premier division aswell as geographically spread out around ireland with 4 in dublin (rovers, shelbourne ,bohs and st pats) 1 in cork(city) 1 in galway(city) aswell as the likes of derry, longford , sligo.

it was based on fan-base, money aswell as facilities and attraction and so on. although my beloved shamrock rovers were relegated last season, they've just won the first division. the thing that infuriated everyone was the fact that even if shamrock rovers finished bottom of the 1st division they would be in the premier one next year. UCD finished 6th in the premier division this season but will playing in the first division next season because the get about 400 showing up every week.

anyway, dundalk finished 2 behind shamrock rovers in the first division and should be playing in the premier yes? well no, and for 1 fan it was all to much to take. today this dundlak fan stormed to the FAI headquarters in town armed with a barrell of petrol, a lighter and a brain for ****! he proceeded in a protest that his club were not being promoted and began drowning himself in petrol. from what i seen on the tv he looked drunk. police rushed to the seen as he started to pour petrol on the doors of the headquaters to threaten to light them on fire! he thouroughly soaked himself again as he wore he beloved dundalk jersey and a pair of jeans before police caught him!!!!! big news today here!

theres a story a thought you's would like to hear. sorry if i bored ya:)

I am working on a Nonagon prototype that I will present to the Royal Mint, basically it will a nine edged coin with the number 9 on one side and me on the other side in a striking pose.
