Poor performance but when you get a late equaliser like that it can only be an enjoyable point.
Ellington has finally got that goal as well, hopefully the first of many. Well done Dukey.
Based on the game, a great point.

Forgive me if you're being sarcastic, but -
BEHAVE!
Drop a striker who's been leading the line in a team bereft of creative quality, but done a find job and works his ass off, plus has a more than creditable goals tally for the season, in favour of a fat, overpaid player who's had chance after chance after chance after chance after chance under several different managers and done nothing, but finally scores 1 goal and you act like he's invented football.

Badd defending for ipswich's goal
Dustcart badly beaten, He also dropped a clanger second half beaten by a hopeful long ball, got out of jail by a wonder save from Loach.
Radio Suffolk after the game had Ipswich fans raving about how well they played, where the ref got four minutes from ('cos you were timewasting, delaying baskets) and how they should have been 4-0 up by half time.
Poppycock.
The blues were low on confidence and that we gave 'em a goal from poor defending of a cross took the edge from us. They had some speed merchants but also lacked a cutting edge. I never felt they were going to score enough to bury us and that we ought to get maybe one or two chances in the end.
We kept in this match in the first half but couldn't work a clear opportunity.
Some of the WFC "fans" around me were the most ill informed nuts who have clearly never played that had to keep slagging almost every player in the team, however....
Given we are depleted and Eustace went off leaving us short of command and another ball winner in midfield, this was a hell of a result.
The way our boys celebrated shows how much it means to them and this should give them belief and galvanise team spirit.
Malky clearly roasted 'em at half time and made them go out early, we were on top for the first 20 mins of the second half before Eustace made way.
Nice to have things go our way.
I wonder what the game would have been like if we'd scored in the first half?

We were truly awful, I don't think we had a shot worthy of the name until Ellington popped up - he'd done ziltch until then but the finish was great, especially after he'd pushed the defender out of the way to make room for the finish.

Phew talk about getting out of jail, at least I keep bragging rights with the muppets down the local for a while anyway.
Very poor first half and in all fairness could have easily been 3 down at the break, couple of good saves from Loach. Second half honours about even but major worry was the few chances we managed to create. All too often Graham was alone with 5 defenders round him. What can you say about the Duck scored the winner at Ipshyte season before last and the goal last night, if only we play at Portman Rd every week he'd be good for 20 goals a season.
Three points Friday now to round off a great week.

As optimistic as ever eh? I thought we were superb last night - we lulled them into a false sense of security by not managing a shot worthy of the name all night - and then, when they had the game all but won, we decided to have a go. If that goal had come five minutes from time it would have been an interesting watch... What a load of rubbish from start to 93 minutes... 94th wasn't too bad - it felt like a win given the circumstances.

In the greyhound, before you turned up ( late) the three old boys and the dog, leaning on the bar betting and discussong the evenings score, were heard to say" it will be interesting to see what happens if Ipswich are wining 1 - 0 with three minutes to go, i don't want that"
The only pleasure taken from last night was the pre match beer ( unfortinutaley SHE don't work there any more) and watching those three numpties in the stand behind the goal who were mocking us most of the game, their faces and the speed in which they departed when we equalised - the bald headed ones were such twots, they could have been watford fans.

It was a terrible performance from us, but the last minute equaliser by the Duke made the journey worth it.
Loach was immense today, made a few good saves, and dealt with the long throws into the box. There were a couple of times where I felt he should have gone to deal with the long throw, but whenever he went out, he always got good contact and punched it away. His kicking wasn’t great though.
Hodson at right back didn't put a foot wrong- he's a real talent considering he's only just turned 18. He never let the winger out-pace him, and put in a good few tackles.
Lloyd Doyley and Henri Lansbury, on the other hand, were both appalling. Doyley was always panicking when he got the ball, and then misplaced his pass or got tackled. Lansbury's passes never seemed to reach their man, and the only other contribution I can remember him making in the game was a terrible shot which was scuffed wide.
Mariappa and Cathcart at the back were average. The defending for the goal, and when they hit the bar a few minutes later, was terrible, and at other times they didn't look strong at the back. Mariappa did put in a few good tackles though.
Eustace in midfield did his job, he put in some good tackles and won the ball back in midfield, although some of his passes were poor and were just hoofed up in the air. Jenkins I didn't notice all game, whether this is good or bad I don't know. He could have been doing his job quietly in midfield, or he was just doing nothing all game.
Cowie was decent, but not great; he tried to pass on the floor, but it didn't always work out. A few times we tried to hit Ipswich on the break, but then Cowie, or someone else slowed down the pace of the break away, and we just lost the ball in midfield. Harley was decent too, he put in a couple of good crosses, but apart from that, I can’t really remember him doing else.
Graham up front was completely isolated. He worked his socks off again, always closing down the defence, but the ball was just pumped up to him. He has a good spring and lots of effort, and so won the ball a lot of the time, but it was hard for him to keep the ball. He never really had any shots all game, which is disappointing, as he was meant to be our main striker and goal threat, and he hasn’t scored for a few games now. But having said that, he never really had any opportunities to score, and the midfield never put in a good delivery. He also obliviously provided the assist for the goal, so even though he isn’t scoring, he’s getting involved in the build up play for goals, and providing the vital pass, like he did yesterday and for the Middlesbrough game.
Ellington came on and obliviously got the goal, so credit to him for that, it was a good finish. I remember when he came on, and we had never had a shot on target for ages, and then he had a shot from outside that box, which was basically straight at the keeper, but at least it showed effort and a willingness to try and score, as if you never shot, you’ll never score. He brought something new to our game, or maybe it was just the fact that we had two strikers on the pitch.
Bryan was brought on too late to change things, although the goal did take place after he had came on, I don’t think he played a big part in the goal taking place. I don’t really see why Malky brought him on with so little time left; maybe he just thought we needed a pair of young, fresh legs.
But overall, the performance was terrible, Ipswich had tons of chances and corners, and really should have scored more and put the game to bed, but thanks to a bit of luck, poor finishing and Loach, we kept it at 1-0 and then managed the equaliser. The celebrations by the players after the goal, all huddled together, really showed what it meant to them, and shows good tram spirit. The fans also went absolutely mad after the goal, and it was good to see the players come over at the end to applaud the fans.
I also noticed that whenever Watford had a chance to hit Ipswich on the break, we never really ran at the defence, and just slowed the ball. This resulted in the rest of the Ipswich players getting back, us trying to pass the ball in midfield, and then losing it-chance gone. This was disappointing, and I couldn’t see us getting a goal, as we never had any clear-cut opportunities (apart from the goal), and never really attacked the defence.
But it was a point earned, one we didn’t deserve, but we showed good resilience to earn it. Good to see Malky admitting that we were poor too, and not trying to mislead the fans. I’m so glad that we were not the first team to lose to Ipswich, but instead extended their winless run to 13 games, and put that idiot Keane under more pressure. Good to see Rodgers losing again as well (4-1), and being only one place above relegation, largely thanks to the fact that both Plymouth and Peterborough lost.
That goal by the Duke was fantastic, made up for the appalling 90 minutes before hand, and the feeling after it went in was amazing. Made the journey back much easier, and made the game worth going to. Good to see us getting the goal in the fourth of four minutes of added time, as it serves Ipswich right for the time-wasting by the players, fans not giving the ball back, and the ball boys who just sat there and never bothered to move to go and get the ball. Their plan back-fired and we had the last laugh!

Ipswich shot them selves in the foot, because of there time waisting we had quite abit of injury time and that cost them the 2 points :) I love it when teams try to cheat and it goes wrong

a point off a team who hasn't won a game all season in the league - 12 up to us - happy days.
We robbed them!
That wasn't the worst we have played all season but we were pretty clueless, until ellington came on who got all of our shots on target. The sooner he starts up front with graham the better. The watford fans celebration was right up there with charlton and chelsea last season. Top stuff.
