Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the summer break - I guess it has already been more eventful at Vicarage Road than we both hoped or expected.

I think we felt at the end of last season that is Reading were to make an approach for Brendan then he would be very tempted as they are very much his club. So once they made their move his departure was inevitable. His comments were unfortunate and I am sure he regrets saying what he did. I'd be interested to hear what you think of the job he did in his short stay.

Malky was always favourite to step up to take the top job and I know he was very determined to convince the Board that he is the right man to take the Club forward. He is another good guy and I am sure we will all enjoy hearing from him next season.

He has a tough job on his hands however as it is likely that a number of players will have to move on in order to balance the books which will be no surprise to you guys I am sure. I expect that Smith, McAnuff and Demerit will move on as they need to reduce the wage bill.

It will be very interesting to see who comes in to replace them - one player on the radar is Danny Graham, a striker from Carlisle who has rejected a new deal at Brunton Park.

There is no news to bring you yet in terms of coverage next season, discussions are still ongoing between all the various parties. I have my fingers crossed that myself and Neil will be able to bring you similar if not improved coverage but as yet, it is too early to confirm anything I'm afraid.

We also wait to see whether the media facilities will be relocated to the Lower Rous in time for the new season - I certainly hope so but again finances will dictate that decision.

I would be very interested to hear your views on how you think Malky will do (he is very popular with the players I can tell you) and on transfer ins and outs as things get going. I think we will see a lot more activity once July begins. Also, what about his backroom staff which is likely to be confirmed this week? Sean Dyche will feature I believe as well as Alec Chamberlain and maybe one new face too.

Neil is making good progress with the ex-players association and will have plenty to report come August I am sure.

Anyway, that's enough from me for now - I'd be delighted to read your comments and thoughts and as soon as I have any more news, especially on coverage for next season, I'll be back in touch.

All the best,

Jon
