Ok, I know Im probably going to get some flack for this but here goes.

The Watford Observer is suggesting that the board did initially turn down an offer for Brendan. At some point over the weekend, Brendan may it clear to the board they he wanted out and so they have done their best and come away with a much improved compensation offer.

We know our club is not in a very stable condition financially, and in all honesty the £800,000 we are receiving for a relatively unproven manager is a good deal.

We will also be losing, Frank Lampard senior (high wage, no problem there), Dean Austin (dont like him) and Karl Halabi (we already have a physio and fitness coach anyway). Searle will probably follow him out the door too.

Realistically we now have a good opportunity to reform the backroom staff with people who care about the club, Malky, Dyche and Rolls for a start.

If we can get either Nigel Gibbs or Kenny Jackett as manager, this could potentially be great for the club. We need some one with a bit of heart and love for the club, not some young manager who is just looking to kickstart his career.

At the end of the day, the board faced an uphill struggle and in the end managed to get a good deal for the club, in what really was an inevitable move. :sign15:

We don't know this for a fact though. Ferguson at Peterborough may have wanted to go as he is still only a young manager starting and his career, and I really don't think that he would of rejected the opportunity to move to a bigger club.

If people are to be believed, HRH (and they have been spot on about the details) the job was already gone when they offered Mini-Fergie...

That was MAD-jeski making it look like they'd not inked the deal with Dodgers already...

Yes they're all good points but it doesn't detract from Rodgers being a slippery c*nt.

yeah, absolutely... But he's damaged his reputation severly. Everyone in the office here thinks he's a c*** now and wouldn't it be oh so funny of he screws up at the Mad-Stad??

We gave him a break and he's f***ed us. He's a non-person now.

Bring on whoever, i'll get behind them, but if it's Curbs or Pards (salary dependant I know) I'd be well happy.....

Incidently, any of the great and good ITK chaps have any whispers about the likely Messiah yet?

Abso-bl00dy-lutely

What could they have done? Nowt. Player/Mgr power rules.

It's becoming increasingly apparent that Buck$ Rodgers had engineered this move some weeks ago... The board have got close on a Mill, so he can **** off now and claim his cubic zirconia encrusted Rolex...

SCUM CANUT

I wanna get behind the board now (Paddy!!!) and move forward. That will be tough if they bring in Wise, but I will take it on the chin and accept it...

If they bring in Pards however, I shall go buy some Valley Grown Salads shares.

Jimmy, Vince.... Your move.....

It has to be Malky doesn't it? I can't see us appointing Curbs or Pards, especially when we tell 'em they've got no money and will have to sell players!

At least we don't need to worry about questionning his integrity now do we? Nor his loyalty - what odds Reading at home first game of the new season...

Two weeks ago I said about Rodgers comments:

"But at this moment concentrating fully..."

Means nothing - he didn`t say "I am staying at Watford".

He could be looking forward to next year wherever he is - a bid of £1million would be enough.

You can`t really blame him as a one year rolling contract is not long term stability.

I blame Simpson he should have given him a two year rolling contract:]]

There is absolutely no integrity in football (or politics) and those who expect it are going to be in for a series of disappointments.

We now need to find another manager of potential so we can sell him on in due course for profit, whilst getting Reading to buy Muff for a couple of million.

What we don`t know is whether there are any clauses to include player sales as part of the deal, or restraints to prevent it.

No flak from me. A very good post. I just believe that everyone at Watford FC knew about this in April, it was a done deal, everything else is a smokescreen.

Agree with all the above. If he wants to go then get as much money as poss and move on with someone who wants the job

The only good job the boar have done is getting all these early bird season tickets taken up under a false sense of security in my opinion.

What a brilliant marketing ploy by the board and the supporters must feel well and truly sold down the river. All this " Buying into Brendans way of thinking " What complete ****.

500k up front which can rise to 1m. Its fairly obvious that a big chunk of the 500k in bonuses/clauses will be if they get promoted.
