Jw where did you pre-order it from? Thinking of pre-ordering it as it may sell out.

Last year I pre-ordered FM08 from play.com and received it two days before release day. Therefore I have done the same again this year. As I mentioned earlier somewhere else, FM09 is the make or break year for me I think. Hopefully 3D match engines can reignite my interest in the game.

Will definately download the demo, although not sure how much time I will be able to devote to the full game since Gears of War 2 comes out on 7th Nov.

Looking forward to it. Doubt i'll pay much attention to the 3D pitch this time round as i expect it'll take a couple of versions to iron out the inevitable problems in the same way it took a few tries to get the 2D spot on.

At least it'll mean i spend a bit less money next month as no doubt a good few evenings will be taken up playing the game.

Maybe i haven't, SI have teamed up with 'Steam' this year and for £30 i can download the game from them :) A few quid more than i could get it elsewhere online but saves forking out £30 for a dvd drive :D

Unfortunately due to the current financial climate, GS has not been able to authorise this donation as the player had been transferred to Leyton Orient. Only as a Watford player does he stand to qualify to gain 'Orns for the player. Better luck next time.

Yes there are two versions, here's a post from Miles Jacobson on the SI Games forums about the demo...

The Vanilla demo, which is approx 175MB, will be available for PC or Mac, and available exclusively from the News of the Worlds website, with the files hosted by the nice people at Gameshadow.
It will feature UK English only, language wise, and English and Scottish quickstarts, with little to no "assets" (such as player pictures, stadiums and pitch textures). You can play for half a season, and continue your saved game when the full game is out.

The Strawberry demo, which is approx 1GB, will also be available for PC or Mac, and will be available 3 ways via STEAM (our recommended route - but PC only), a torrent file, and a direct download (hosted by the nice people at Gameshadow).
To download the STEAM client, for free, go to www.steampowered.com, where you can read all about STEAM.
Language wise it has - English, Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish.
Leagues playable (via quickstarts) - England, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina & Indonesia. So 12, rather than the previously announced 10.

A demo for WWSM will follow next week.

There will also be other demos available in the coming weeks/months, and I will update this thread as I am allowed to announce them with more info.

The first of these is in Australia, 442 magazine will be covermounting a special exclusive A-League demo of the game, although I do not have a date for the issue of the magazines release as yet (I expect it will be after the release of the game, unfortunately, due to the time it takes to print the discs).

Looks ok, i'm quietly optimistic. I like the press conferences, they're rather neat. They may get a bit tiresome though as the game goes on. I think once the game has come out and there have been a couple of patches it will be very playable indeed.

I have already seen a message from Sports Interactive saying there will be a patch released on the day the game is released, which in my opinion is very good news.

All sorts, only a small percentage is actually valid and even then they've gone completely the wrong way about getting their point across. It's the usual unsubstantiated complaints that you get every year around release time.

Yep agreed, it happens every year with every release. As sure as the sun rises in the morning you'll get people on the FM forums that moan about really trival stuff. It makes it look like loads of people are moaning, but in reality it's only a few nobs creating millions of pointless threads.
