I think the real reason for the recent appalling performances is simple.
Though it is recognised that the average professional footballer is fundamentally stupid, I feel our 'hero's' at Watford are not so stupid as to get themselves promoted to the premiership where each and every one of them would suddenly become surplus to requirements.

If they got us promoted and were not needed by US next year then I'm sure their careers wouldn't instantly end. Someone would be interested in a "promotion winning" player.

Daniel, point taken, but they would have to go through the hassle of moving & taking a probable pay cut.
And do you really think clubs would be queuing up to sign those players, Smith, Eustace & ****tu excepted? I think not!

Hoofers would certainly be stupid enough to give them all wage hikes and allow most of them to embarass us all in the Prem.
